It's not a playing field. It's a battlefield.
The Dems have been bested over and over for nearly ten years. We may disagree about their eptitude in this struggle, but we see the things a political party does in this environment are not the answer to the anti-republic movement.
The re-election of a hateful, despicable felon demagogue by a vast majority of the active and acquiescent indicates that turning to the same old political party system as a means of persuading that majority through snappier messaging is folly.
I think it's insightful that so few of us will say, "I'm a proud democrat" while the GOPs have followers whose entire identity is being a GOP. The latter of those positions has pulled political solutions off the table at least for the moment.
There is no winning political response. We now hope for implosion. Our tactics become Fabian; stay together and see what turns up. For now, we're beaten. We'll need to devise new appoaches while in retreat lest losing is to become our constant fate.
