  1. Hired as a special assistant to Jim Crane last offseason.
  2. And I'm digging the shit out of the fact that Reggie Jackson is rocking cowboy boots in Boston.
  3. I will say that the one thing about Sark that gives me some optimism is a capacity to acknowledge a fault and fix it. Can he fix his coaching blind spots? TBD, but I don't really question him in the same ways I did Strong (job was too big) and Herman (thinks he's the smartest guy in every room).
  4. More of a "misery loves company" situation IMO. Just stating how many of us are in the same boat.
  5. If we were gonna do it, it would've been during the Greinke start.
  6. Seriously though, I think the quoted part of your text applies to the vast majority of this board anyway. I'm sick of this shit as much as the next guy, but I'm not about to quit watching...although I did go for a walk after we failed to convert on the 4th down throw to a double covered Bijan with 5 minutes left against Oklahoma. My wife asked where I was going, and I told her I don't want to watch this shit again before telling her exactly was about to happen. Unfortunately, I was slightly wrong. Thought we'd hold them to a FG to win it instead of the TD after we tied it up with a little over 1 minute left.
  7. They just needed Apple watches to track their overtime for those 5 hour games...
  8. Seriously, if I don't qualify as legally insane by now, I'm going to have to amend my tax filings.
  9. Brantley also has to swing at pitch 5 after pitch 2 was called a strike with a 2-2 count. That dude doesn't really chase a whole lot. I don't think it necessarily impacted the at bat in the way you originally thought, but I do think it impacted the at bat significantly.
  10. I haven't seen the ump scorecard for last night's game yet, but to be clear, the first three games all favored Boston (.5,.22, and .45 runs). Can't wait to see the card from last night...also, if you want to complain about the state of umpiring (which I do - a LOT), at least mention that we've had exactly ONE game in the playoffs that was umped by someone in the top HALF of MLB rankings (#36 of 99 - the others were all below #50, including #87 & #91). Why is MLB showcasing its worst umps behind the plate in the playoffs?
  11. Pretty sure that their version of dumb shit is just stuff we don’t understand…at all.
  12. Not disagreeing with any of that. I do think that describing it as "silly" to hire a head coach without prior head coaching or coordinator experience is wrong. Is it unusual? Sure, but you hire people at the end of the day. If you're hiring someone for what they've done somewhere else rather than what you think they'll do in given situation, you've already failed. Again, not saying I expect Banks to take/be offered the job, but he's known as a good recruiter. Would it really surprise anyone if he killed it in an interview? My real issue was characterizing such a scenario as silly, not the general premise that Banks isn't going to Wazzou.
  13. I was merely pointing out that the experience levels were exactly as you described. Under the terms of your original premise, it fits. If you want to add that as an addendum to your original position, fine.
  14. So the same experience as Dabo when he took the Clemson job. Just substitute WR for TE.
  15. Unless he's standing in a half-squat on his toes on his right foot, which even if he were to attempt it, I don't think he could pull it off.
  16. My favorite part of the pic is how he sits down next to his son, so it isn't so obvious that he doesn't measure up. Now THAT's redass.
  17. We should definitely kick the tires on him and Bryan Robinson from Florida State (assuming I haven’t missed any off-field issues with either).
