Coeur d'Alene is pretty and between Coeur d'Alene and Spokane I am sure there is plenty of stuff to do. I have a vacation home in Bonner County but it is pretty new so I can't really comment on the people. Most of my interactions are in a golf course community and on the ski mountain and those people are generally not locals.

Bonner? Depends on where you are - if its ski/golf/water, probably a reasonable mix of folks... if not, you'll hear banjos. Lots and lots of banjos.

(Best friend grew up across the state line in Pend Oreille County and has a lake house there. The people at the lake are a pretty wide-ranging mix politically, which is nice, but drive a mile in any direction and you're an extra on a Squidbillies set.)

@Beau Vine @flatdawgs @PostGameOrangeSlices show up and take some +rep

3am kickoff came a bit early (Chur, Switzerland >>> SA, except I assume the Tex-Mex here is subpar). UT worried me before the game and that didn't end until the game did. I hate the "sit out the bowl" thing although it obviously helped UW. Of course, y'all are Texas and we are not, and the Horns' talent across the board is better than UW's even with all that.

Sark? He got us out of the worst period in school history and for that I thank him - but it was time for him to go when he did. I honestly don't know what he can do for UT at this point. I was impressed by UT's defense in general; this was the most explosive O I can remember at UW and Texas stayed in it until the end.

I'm a guest here, but a fan too and am glad I can go back to pulling for you guys. Hope to see more of the Horns in the future. A UW-UT home-and-home would be epic.

@flatdawgs is the odd man out here lol. Also, are you coming down for the game?

Unfortunately I thought we would suck again this year and made other holiday plans, so I'll be trying to stream it through a VPN at 3am in Switzerland. Sucks since for whatever reason we never play the Horns. Would seem to be a great home-and-home series opportunity. Still hoping to come down for a RRS soon though.

I mean, in all fairness, most people around here think Helobius is an idiot, too.

But he's our idiot, at least.

Therefore, it's not a matter of guts, its that no one else really believes it, so no one else is going over there to say it.

That board's terrible. They were on the right side of things in the Willingham days but split off one of the other boards later in some sort of shit fight. If it were our version of Surly that'd be great but it's more like CR and texaggy joined forces and lost 95% of their posters.

I am a Washington season ticket holder, plus went to the Apple Cup a week ago.

The dude should be this year’s Heisman winner.  He was elite this year.

Yeah, same here. Some decent QBs have come through here in the years I've been watching, but this was an amazing season.

Unfortunately I think Bijan will run roughshod through an extremely iffy defense - worse if the Horns can go at all downfield on a defensive backfield far, far worse than we had become used to up here. Should be a good game but it's definitely a road trip.

And keeping it focused and not CR at all. Dudes deserves all the Rep. @MillerEP. @atomheartbevo is also a damn good contributor. @956 Worldwide brings a good perspective outside the daily ops. All three deserve kudos.

@immamac  They all deserve some extra rep points or an invite to a beer.

Best thread on the Surl outside of sports. well maybe some others we cannot mention.

@InkaUtexas you too. Most of the contributors on this thread are top notch and it's become my favorite thread on the Surl. Despite a pretty well-grounded knowledge of 20th century European political and military history, I learn a ton of stuff here daily. Thanks to all of you for that and for keeping us all abreast of everything going on. (And, since there's a few of you based over in Europe, if any of you are in Ljubljana New Year's Eve, drinks are on me.) 😉

I think that it is right (fewer cards), which means that as of now, Poland would advance.

    Yellow Cards
    Poland 4 : 6 México

Having watched Poland today, I can’t believe that they have only been issued 4 cards over 2 games, because they constantly overstepped the line of Clean Foul vs Card-able Foul.

They really should just say "Ya know what, Mexico? We're sick of that 'puto' shit. Fuck on off back home."

  8. 3.45 am, sitting at the gate at Spokane Airport - ready to get home. Was planning on driving but today's weather in the passes is supposed to be 2 feet of snow, 50 mph winds. To hell with that.

Weather was fine, mostly clear and around freezing. Usually it's worse. That was one of the crazier games I've seen in this series and I've attended 30 or so. Penix and the receivers were on all night. Sorry he'll only be here this year but what a fun one. Not sure if he's the real deal since Penix had such a monster season, but DeBoer wins everywhere he's been and a 10+ win season in his first year here is fine with me.
