  1. Being aligned with them only became a problem when NU, CU, Mizzou, and aggy left and were replaced by Cincinnati, UCF, BYU, etc. The original B12 was great. But we wouldn't be stuck playing only those teams if they were to be included in the hypothetical "super league."
  2. I'm fine with getting rid of those games. I'm talking about non blue blood (for lack of a better term) P4 teams.
  3. Texas would still play Arkansas (and OU/aggy) every year. Should the rest of the schedule be made up of Bama, UGA, USC, and Ohio State? You think those matchups will have the same appeal when it's two 6-4 teams? And how is that a competitive advantage wrt the playoff? If the 70+ team "super league" happens, everybody has to play everybody, or it's not an actual league. I won't pretend to be an expert on revenue, but I wouldn't expect it to be equal across the board. If all that matters is high profile games and advertiser revenue, we might as well form a ~20 team "blue blood league" and call it a day.
  4. How I could see it playing out: The B12/ACC (plus Oregon St/WSU and maybe Boise) get divided between the SEC/B1G to create 2 ~36 team divisions (South and North/West). Each team has 3 cross-divisional (OOC) games, 6 divisional, and 3 permanent rivals. The OOC/divisional schedules would rotate to maintain competitive balance and allow every team to eventually play each other. The top 8 from each division (chosen either by committee or some series of tiebreakers) goes to the playoff, culminating in the SEC v B1G "Super Bowl."
  5. Which is also a stupid idea. Blue bloods are blue bloods because of how they stack up against "everyone else." Take "everyone else" out of the equation and there are no blue bloods, and pretty soon all those matchups become boring and meaningless. (and before anyone gets upset, I'm using the term "blue blood" to refer to historically winning programs)
  6. Nebraska has to go hundreds (if not thousands) of miles for recruits. Alabama could (and has) have a down period, but unlike NU they'll always have access to talent.
  7. Sounds like Kendall "Hulk" Jones. Peaked as a 16 year-old.
  8. Only applies to the spring portal window.
  9. Looks like it. But I won't talk too much shit until Sark beats him.
  10. Bama wasn't as dominant the last couple years compared to their peak (although they still could've easily won the whole thing last season). That said, they still have the highest talent composite in the country. And blowing a 28 point lead at home/losing to Vandy in consecutive weeks isn't just something "Saban would never do." It's something any great coach wouldn't do. DeBoer gets somewhat of a pass since it's year 1 and he's still building "his" program. Maybe he just needs some minor tweaks. Maybe he's just a lucky fraud like Lincoln. Either way, I think it's safe to say he won't be a continuation of the Saban era, and every non-Bama CFB fan should be happy about that.
  11. He said Mack is a nice guy outside of football, but will throw anyone under the bus to save his own ass.
  12. We joke.. but that will be the narrative. Especially if we keep winning as Bama comes back to earth.
  13. Vandy is clearly a solid team, but Saban never had a loss like this once he got going. The aggy/Ole Miss teams that beat him at least had some elite talent. This feels the end of an era. Not saying Bama will suck from now on, but they aren't going to dominate CFB like they once did. You don't replace Saban.
  14. Yes, you are. My post: "Whether Liberty wins out or not, a G5 team will get the 12 spot."
  15. I don't think they wouldn't.. Why would they agree to no CC games? The Big 12 brought back its CC game to avoid another 2014 TCU situation. Just because they don't result in automatic bids doesn't mean they can't boost a conference's profile (and make money).
  16. Whether Liberty wins out or not, a G5 team will get the 12 spot. The current format is dogshit tbh. Way too many flaws with the seeding. My preference would've been 8 teams and no automatic bids/bye weeks. There's never been more than 8 teams that deserved at shot at a title.. but that obviously isn't gonna happen.
  17. We need to just hold Quinn out until the national championship game. Let Arch get experience throughout the season/playoffs, then bam, send Quinn out to bring home the title.
  18. Some interesting commentary on Mack. I don't think papa Shipley is a fan.
  19. My mom's family is from Jasper. Haven't been back there in nearly 20 years. Couldn't imagine living there voluntarily.
  20. Pretty sure a fight involves at least 2 people. Maybe wait for more details before declaring him kicked off the team, if they ever come out.
  21. At the peak of Ole Miss' bag operation, after getting destroyed in a bowl game by TCU, Freeze's excuse was that he just didn't have good enough talent to compete. I've always thought he was a fraud since then.
  22. I'm aware. But (knock on wood) we could actually need him at some point (unlikely, but possible given Quinn's injury history). If we wanted to get him some live reps, at least throw it a couple times. Nitpicking, but there was no benefit in burning another game.
  23. That you Mack?
