  1. This is spot on. Quinn was just a roller coaster. There were moments of greatness that got everyone excited about his future. There were some WTF throws and ugly games. He was a solid QB, but for the majority of his starts he left you wanting more. Most saw the growth from year 1 to year 2 and were expecting the break out in year 3, unfortunately that did not happen. Turnovers were oddly a huge issue in his last year.
  2. The talent is just a fact. Texas set a record for draft picks last year and they may break that this year. These were 2 of the most talented teams Texas has produced as a program. Quinn contributed to the wins and losses the last 2 years. I wouldn’t say he led Texas back. I think the defense is probably the biggest reason Texas for the recent success. That stats confirm that
  3. hmmm. SEC stats Dart: 154/244, 63%, 2.321 yards, 9.51 per/att, 13 TDs, 4 ints... 89 carries, 362 yards Ewers: 175/273, 64%, 1974 yards, 7.23 per/att, 17 Tds, 7 ints.... 36 carries, -63 yards that doesnt include fumbles lost. I couldnt find fumbles for SEC games only, but Dart had 0 and Quinn had 5 on the season.
  4. This post is a beating. Thread was dead for 4 weeks and the first thing off your keyboard is Derka's name.
  5. Was his injury ever disclosed? I am of the opinion that he probably should not have been playing vs OSU, especially given the lack of run game. I do not think he was close to healthy. Respect the fact he went out there and played injured, but I would have preferred to see Goosby. Very talented guy, but raw and mistake prone. If he lands in the right spot, I could see him with a long NFL career. Very high ceiling for a guy projected 4th or later.
  6. That took long to find The 2024 NFL Draft was considered deep, particularly at certain positions like defensive tackle, edge rushers, and wide receiver. While quarterbacks were also a focus, some analysts felt the top of the quarterback class wasn't as strong as in previous years. https://www.si.com/nfl/2024-nfl-draft-class-among-best-ever Like I said 2024 was a deep draft class. I did not think that was controversial , but there is always someone.
  7. Last year they talked about the depth of the draft. Perhaps we are seeing the Covid effect come to an end and transitioning back to normal cycles
  8. This.. Arch is most likely here for 2 years. If he leaves, we will all likely be drunk and smiling on Jan 20th, 2026. Really no reason to worry about it right now, a lot of shit has to happen between now and then.
  9. Partner With RIF To Inspire the Joy of Reading
  10. I hope he leaves. One of the few paths that I think could see him in this upcoming draft would be a NC and a Heisman. I could live with 1 year of Arch for that.
  11. I won’t be disappointed. I do not think they are a terrible play, but they are more dependent on WR skill and require a high level of chemistry. Personally, I would rather see more “pick” plays in the end zone
  12. Little hyperbole on my part, but when people say he knows defense and how to evaluate defensive players it certainly implies that he is good defensive coach. I am pointing out that belief is based on nothing factual. South Carolina has had 50 players drafted since 2000. Lot of talent in that area. It is kind of what separates the SEC from a conferences like the Big 12. Even teams in the bottom half of the league produce NFL players.
  13. To be a defensive master mind, you should probably be a defensive coordinator at least once in your life. Maybe that is just my ridiculous high standards. 2011–2015 Virginia Tech (AHC/RB) 2016–2017 Georgia (TE/ST) 2018–2020 Oklahoma (AHC/TE) 2021–present South Carolina
  14. Funny. South Carolina has finished 4th, 12th, and 10th in SEC defense under Beamer that last 3 years.
  15. always do. Just one of those school that always has a few NFL guys, usually on the defensive side. South Carolina is top in NFL players per capita Georgia, Louisiana, Bama, Mississippi, Florida, Utah (that surprised me), Maryland, South Carolina, Texas, and North Carolina are the top 10. If you are big school in these states, you are going to produce NFL talent.
  16. I am not sure this Beamer has the same eye for talent his dad had, especially when dad had Bud Foster at his side.
  17. I saw his comments after the visit. He mentioned Austin at least 3 times. Said something like "the campus is not in the middle of nowhere". I took that as a very positive sign, based on his other OVs. That is good feeling is based on a teenager not changing his mind over the next 6 months, so take it with a grain of salt.
  18. Raiders 2025 NFL Draft: Quinn Ewers’ film breakdown - Silver And Black Pride He was good on short throws. He is great on screens. His throws on swing routes to RB are pretty amazing, typically hits them in stride and on that front shoulder. He did not have a good year hitting the intermediate throws (52%). Wish I could find last years, because that was an area I thought he excelled at in 2023. Sub 10 yards 222/294 or 75.5%..
  19. Totally agree. So much projection involved at OL. Can they remain athletic and put on the 30+ pounds or in Brian ONeill's case almost 70 pounds (Pro Bowl LT from Minn out of Pitt). Will they grow into that massive frame. Etc There is nothing more annoying in the recruiting chat than the "he is a guard, not a tackle" comments. Texas has had a pretty solid run at LT with Connor Williams, Sam Cosmi, and Banks. Williams and Cosmi were great in college and end up being kicked inside in the NFL. There is talk that the same will happen to Banks. Despite the evidence in front of Texas fans eyes, they will pretend that an NFL guard cannot play Tackle in college.
  20. Sam Roseborough Jr Szn Highlights - Samuel Roseborough highlights - Hudl I am not sure why you say that other than he is not 6'6". This kid can move. If he gets to 315 and keeps that athleticism, there is no reason he can not play Tackle. He may get the same NFL draft treatment as Kelvin Banks due to his height, but that does not concern me about being a potential high end tackle in college.
  21. He was. His starts were pretty rough at the combine. Would it surprise anyone if Bond didn’t take combine prep seriously?
  22. Its not really close. FEI rankings 2024: 3rd DFEI, 18th OFEI 2023: 6th DFEI, 19th OFEI 2022: 8th DFEI, 17th OFEI 2021: 27th DFEI, 35th OFEI The defensive improvement has been consistent. The offense has under-performed the last few years and been stagnant. Defense is what is driving the improvement. Like to see Sark get his 1st top 10 offense at Texas. Hard to ask the defense to do much more.
  23. either way he is one big corn fed SOB
  24. we saw some burst, but in the short game. Bond turning the corner on a screen was a crazy moment. You saw his speed. Not to mention you could see on the breaks. It wasnt the typical deep ball, but even in this limited version of Sark's offense his game plan was to get them in space and let them work
  25. I think it is positive fro the future. More that he is probably showing above expected mobility and has the ability to play OT. Have to wait a couple weeks on the actual blocking ability.
