  1. I am going to wait to get excited on LOS guys until at least 1 full contact practice. I like the news, but I can not get too excited until there is some actual blocking and tackling going on.
  2. either way he still has short arms. The 3/8 on an inch isnt going to change the talking points.
  3. I am guessing Blue did not do enough events to be scored. I think he only did the 40. I dont even know where the Jada comment comes from, but I'll assume you believe it to be relevant. I posted the RAS scores to show that this is seriously deep and athletic RB group.
  4. RAS2025 NFL Draft Class that is the RAS for the draft. Name Pos Year College RAS Alltime RAS « ‹ 1 2 3 4 5 › » Link Quinshon Judkins RB 2025 Ohio State 9.89 9.89 Link Donovan Edwards RB 2025 Michigan 9.78 9.78 Link DJ Giddens RB 2025 Kansas State 9.75 9.75 Link Omarion Hampton RB 2025 North Carolina 9.69 9.69 Link Montrell Johnson RB 2025 Florida 9.62 9.62 Link Damien Martinez RB 2025 Miami 9.36 9.36 Link Bhayshul Tuten RB 2025 Virginia Tech 9.35 9.35 Link Joey Zorn RB 2025 Windsor 9.24 9.24 Link Marcus Yarns RB 2025 Delaware 9.21 9.21
  5. I dont know the Pro Day 40 times. Those are usually faster than the combine. I know Omarian Hampton put on an absolute show at 6' and 221 pounds 2 other guys were sub 4.4.
  6. I expect some growing pains. That probably applies to multiple areas of the team. My biggest fear is dropping a game early as the team is finding itself. The turnover thing is interesting. Normally it would be ridiculous to think a 1st time starter would have less turnovers than a 3 year starter in his last year, but Quinn had 17 in 14 games. He also had some really costly turnovers. I can see Arch having more of the 40 yards downfield type interceptions, which are not as costly. Not sure the defense will be strength. I expect so reversion from them. I still think it is a good group, but I doubt they are in the argument for the best defense in the nation like last year. Would be nice to see Sark have his 1st top 10 offense at Texas, which I think is possible.
  7. Roschon didnt get benched and he played with Bijan. There is huge difference between losing your job and carries to Wisner compared to Bijan. Not to mention Rojo didnt go in the top 3 rounds and he was a special teams asset.
  8. I get that, but he wasnt even a starter for Texas. Possible someone falls in love with the speed, but top 3 rounds seems crazy given the film.
  9. Blue was more of a specialty player. He is going to get drafted due to his singular elite trait, his speed. He had drops and fumble issues, especially early. He did not have great contact balance or vision, both of which I believe are far more important than pure speed. They are even bigger vs quality defenses, because you dont get those big creases. These games are where the ability to make 1-2 extra yards consistently can keep an offense on schedule. I am on record saying I hope to see star emerge in the Backfield. I have seen more solid than star from the current RBs. I think the 25 offense will be more of a between the tackles run game. Quick feet, vision, and contact balance are the diving traits in that scenario. I do think there is enough speed in the RB room to beat LBs in the pass game.
  10. If that happened this would be a boring site and 80% of the traffic would disappear overnight. It does seem like you found Jesus recently or should I say Jesus Manning, because I believe there is thread here that you questioned the the staff on a daily basis during the season.
  11. He is actually right. Richardson going top 5 is still a mystery to me. The guy completed slightly below 54% of his passes in his last year in college. That said you guys are arguing over who is the tallest midget
  12. Excited to see Alex January has “come on some more” in the 1 practice in shorts and a helmet
  13. The point is more that it could take 6-8 games for this team to hit their stride. Hard to predict how long it takes to gel. This team has a bit more volatility than we have seen recently.
  14. Texas is going to be very talented, but they are replacing a lot of starts. Losing 80% of the OL. Losing the entire 2 deep at DT Losing 2 NFL WRs and an NFL TE. Losing Thorpe award winner at CB and an NFL Safety Texas will have the talent to compete for a NC this year, but when they grow will be the question. Texas will be formidable in Nov and beyond. How they look the first 4-5 weeks will be questionable.
  15. I see that said here a lot. I have to ask, would you use the same logic for a Sark QB?
  16. I am not a huge fan of Dart, but he did have a great season. Nobody was close to him among SEC QBs. 10.8 per attempt on 69.3% comp. 29 TDs and 6 Ints. He led the nation in passer rating. He added almost 500 yards rushing. I wouldnt pick him top 10, but I can see why someone could look at the season he had and convinced themselves to do it.
  17. I would not argue that. I just think Arch will be better at turning a bad situation into 2nd 10 or 2nd 5, instead of 2nd 17 or a turnover.
  18. I think the hope for long drives is in Manning's ability to sustain drives and avoid big negative plays. I think his running ability, but maybe more importantly his pocket awareness could improve that.
  19. Antonio Williams was Clemson's best WR. He was a 3 year starter.
  20. He was 3rd in Passing Efficiency behind Rudy Carpenter (asu) and Brian Brohm (Louisville). VY is arguably the best CFB player ever, but more of a playmaker than a pure QB. It would have been great to see VY play in today's NFL, where offensive coordinators would have tailored the offense to his game better. Vince rushed 167 and 155 times in his last 2 seasons. He averaged 14 attempts per game as a Soph and 12 as a Junior (17 att or more in 4 games). Arch is passer first. He is a QB with the ability to run. Arch is not as good of a runner as VY and Sark is not going to use his legs like that. They are just different players.
  21. I could be off, but I dont see Sark running much QB run game vs most the schedule. I think it will be need based. I will be shocked if Sark makes it a staple of the offense. The opposition knows Arch is a capable runner. The scouting report alone will likely keep the backside from crashing on action away. I get your point about him being the constraint on the opposing defense, but I doubt Sark will even care vs teams like SJSU, UTEP, SHST, UK, MSU, Vandy, etc. If Sark needs to use Arch in those games, things have not gone near expectations. Its a risk/reward thing.
  22. Its going to be 0-1 called runs for the vast majority of the schedule. I could see 4-8 in playoff/conference champ type games. That may be me projecting my wishes on Sark.
  23. The entire line of thought was stupid. Ewers has played with more NFL talent, than any QB at Texas. (see the likely back to back years of set Texas draft records). The response of how is Sam doing now with NFL players is next level bad. Pretending that being surrounded by NFL players in the NFL is the same as being surrounded by NFL players in college is just stupid. Reason #257 to close this thread
  24. Its highly unlikely the OL is a better pass blocking unit, even with Cam and Banks playing hurt/banged up for the back-end of the season (which nobody likes to mention. still wondering Cam's injury, since he didnt compete at the combine). That said I do believe Arch will provide some relief. I think he instantly upgrades pocket awareness and that has nothing to do with his athleticism. His mistakes will be more along the lines of doing too much. That may balance out the pass pro. Less self-sacks, but worse pass pro. I do wish we had a spring game. I am really wondering, if we will see a dramatic change in the offense. The offense has been mostly horizontal the past few years. Run game has been predominantly OZ. Initially it was screen guys and let Bijan find a hole. RB room took a major hit from Bijan, but Texas has played with 2 NFL OTs the last 2 years. It made sense to run outside behind them. I think this year that may change. Interior is projected to be Neto, Hudson, and DJ. That is where all the experience/maturity is on the OL. I think it is highly likely that group is much better moving people. Highly unlikely to be as good as Conner and Jake in pass pro. OT is likely Goosby and Baker. Baker is a freshman, so no idea what he looks like. Goosby looks like a typical dancing bear at LT. He looks great in pass pro but run blocking hasn't been his thing and may never be his call card. I think that may lead to a bigger focus on rushing between the tackles. Passing game will likely change. Texas was in the 90th percentile in usage rate on screens and swing routes in the country. The deep crosser and post routes are also staples (missing the post route was definitely a staple in 24). Texas had low usage rates of seams, outs, come backs, go, and curl routes. (tip of the hat to Babers on that information). It has been a heavy dose of short perimeter passing. I think that mix will be significantly different with Arch. He loves to throw deep and you know Sark is jonesing to bring back the vertical passing game. Sarks desire was on full display vs ULM, even he admitted in the post-game presser he called too many deep shots. Everyone knows where Quinn's ADOT was, I would bet a lot of money Arch is not going to be in near the bottom of the league in ADOT
  25. or you could have looked at the prior 5 pages of nonsense talking about this subject with he who shall not be named
