  1. Odd response. I do not see Texas bringing in Mukuba to sit on the bench. He is going to start at NB or Safety. Who do you think starts in the secondary, if Barron comes back?
  2. I didnt watch much Arizona football this year, I know Nansen runs a 4-2-5 base. That is about it. Does anyone have a clue about how he runs his defense?
  3. Like I said, we have 0 idea of the adjustments that Sark allows or the team works on. I am just confused to why Mitchell opens to the inside with the DB playing inside leverage. Quite honestly we do not know what kind of break the DB will make. He was to the spot before AD. For this to be a TD, Ewers had to hit Mitchell on the outside shoulder with a frozen rope on the turn. That is something the Mahommes and Kelce probably would do, because of their connection and years of familiarity. I am sure Sark knows, but he is never going to tell us. I would love to hear it though
  4. Mitchell is not going to get to the pylon, if Quinn throws it with heat. He was late on the softball. AD turns inside, not outside on his "break". Mitchell seems to be running a sloppy curl/stop route (perhaps an adjustment to the Db) and Quinn is throwing a fade.
  5. Texas does not run a lot of fades, so that in itself may have been an issue. I am not sure how flexible Sark is on adjustments. Without knowing that this is all mental masturbation.
  6. All I will say about that last play is it looked off. I am not sure if Mitchell was expecting the pass, but his route was pretty strange. The ball didnt match that route. He opens to the inside and the ball is outside. Maybe it was a called fade and Mitchell adjusted on his own. I am sure Sark, Mitchell, and Ewers know who messed up, but I dont. Either way Mitchell and Ewers were not on the same page.
  7. That is great. That is Sark's railroad concept. Bijan scored multiple times on that same play at Texas
  8. Texas isn’t going to be inexperienced in the secondary next year. A lot depends on Barron’s decision, which is said to be a coin flip. Assuming he isn’t back the secondary will likely be Williams, Taffee, Makuba (NB), Brooks (CB), and Muhammad (CB)..All of them got substantial minutes. If Barron comes back that likely bumps Taffee out of starting safety spot and Mukuba likely slots in there
  9. I don’t think Washington will have the same game plan. They are not going to build a game plan around the defending the pass. They are going to see a completely different game plan. I would assume they are going to sell out on the run and try to make Michigan pass the ball
  10. I wouldn’t be shocked if McDonald sat in on a meeting. He was the DC last year. I don’t think he will add much and it is more about coaching curiosity
  11. Michigan runs the Ravens defense. It’s their chance to see how it fairs vs a high level college offense. I am really interested in seeing how it’s fares.
  12. Yes. Mistakes were prevalent all night. Why I keep saying Texas was out-played. Their stars played great games. Their team made less mistakes. This is just another example of that
  13. It came down to 1 series, because DeBoer managed the end of the game poorly. Let’s not pretend Washington didn’t control that game and you didn’t say “Holy Shit, I can’t believe Texas has a shot to win this” like 99% of the people watching that game.
  14. Washington basically conceded the run, so bravo. Texas could do what Washington allowed them to do. Christian Jones is probably still waking up in the middle of the night in cold sweats seeing Trice across from him. I think PFF’s 20 pressure is just dead wrong, but you can believe it if you want
  15. Washington coaches did better. Their players did better. Did you have Washington’s DL would out-play Texas on your bingo card? Did you have Texas would have a bunch of pre-snap penalties on the bingo card? Washington won more of the 1 on 1 battles, than Texas. Running to the internet to blame the QB, who put up 370 yards, or Coaches isn’t going fix that, but I guess it makes people feel better
  16. Everyone is trying to explain why we lost and picking their favorite person, coach, or unit to blame. It’s pretty simple to me. Washington’s stars played like stars. Best offensive player in the field was Penix. Odunze was probably second. Washington OL was better than the Texas OL. Trice was far and away the best defensive player on the field. Jabbar Muhammad was the best player in the secondary on the field. Texas simply got out-played. It’s sucks to end the season playing mediocre, but it is what it is.
  17. Bobby saying Barron is 50/50 to return. Saying he has an injured foot he has been playing on and it may hinder his ability to play in Senior Bowl and Combine. That would be huge for Texas
  18. I think it is a bit of a mixed bag. Some of it was Penix just being on fire and some of it was the Texas defense. You had some ineffective blitz packages. You had 2 conversions that were simply converted due to alignment/scheme (TE catch on like 3rd an 2, where he basically took 2 steps and turned around with nobody accounting for him and Taaffe being asked to cover an out from a NFL WR from depth)
  19. BS is probably strong, but how about highly subjective
  20. MIchigan is going to be a very interesting game to watch.. Probably the best offense vs the best defense. I think Michigan has some of the best coverage and blitz packages in the country. They obviously stole the defense from the Ravens. They do some nice things in masking coverages. I would love PK to do a deep dive on that defense. It fits very well with his philosophy.
  21. I am startign to think the pressure stat is BS. I know Texas did get some pressure, but there is no way I believe the 20 pressure number. I thought I watched the game pretty closely and I do not remember Texas pressuring Penix on half his attempts.
  22. The defense was OK.. They gave up 37 pts on 10 possessions. (i am not counting the last Washington drive, that was in grind the clock mode) Inconsistent offense and the fumbles were far bigger issues, than the last 2 drives. Had the offense been more consistent, Texas wouldnt have been in miracle mode. Hard to get too upset that Texas didnt go 69 yards in 41 seconds and score a TD. I wish it happened, but it was never likely Way too many offensive penalties. This is why the game was so frustrating. I dont think the offense or the defense had a good game. Nothing worse than finishing your season without throwing your best punch.
  23. I dont completely disagree with this. I thought Arch looked decisive in his limited time in the offense and had nice pocket presence. It wasnt enough to make any legitimate statements on his readiness. Lot of QBs can look cool in the pocket with a 40 pts lead. It certainly left me wanting to see more. I still think Quinn is far likelier to be the best option for Texas next year, but I can not say there is not small percentage possibility that Arch would be better.
  24. That is not what I said. I said the normal red zone offense was damn good. 4/4 in the red zone scoring TDs.. The situation exposed the drop back red zone offense. Red zone is also far down the list of issues that lost Texas the game.
