  1. Any word on Baxter? His pass pro would be a huge upgrade for the OU game
  2. Not sure if it was posted in this thread, but might as well. I apologize if already posted. It is a pretty good rant though.
  3. You forgot the penalties we get... But yeah, sounds about right. might as well quote Quentin Jammer: "Arch had us in the game with traffic cones blocking for him. Never mind. Traffic cones don't false-start or hold. My bad to all traffic cones out there!"
  4. that is the attempt I want Arch to make. The play was there; the blocking was not. Cannot fault Arch for missing it, eludes one DL and the next one decapitated him. Just needed him to be spectacular to make that throw or OL to be D+. In this offense you have to take those shots, because scoring it not going to be easy. I am going to guess we will see this vs OU, hoping OL gives Arch split second more or he makes the great play. OU can be had deep, if you can get the ball off.
  5. I am not going to continue this argument. You have to blind or ignorant not to see the changes in this offense from last year to this year. I have seen multiple people with access to All 22 bitching about the routes. Film Guy even put out his Mea Culpa after seeing the All-22. Homer and Scip were bitching about it. Coach from OnTexas bitched about it. I will admit Arch has his issues, but he is not being put in a position to succeed either. It seems a lot of people notice these things, except you and @Thatguy
  6. You just like to bang this drum, despite the entire world noticing the changes. You got to be you. So, Texas went from leading the nation in passes behind the LOS to PA deep shot offense, but it is all the same. Frequency of the type of play calls is completely different. I guess this is a case of do not trusting your lying eyes. Last year was mostly OZ and screen game (obviously over simplified). Athletic OL and a QB that excelled at throwing screens, so that fit. This year is way more PA deep shots. Sark was looking to take advantage of a QB that could threaten a defense deep. Big issue is nobody respects the run game. Hell, I do not even know what the focus of the run game is at this point. The OL cannot protect to get those PA shots off. Safeties are sitting back, because there is no reason to be quick to support the run game. Though outside of Mike Leach rising from the grave, I am not sure there is an offense that fits this OL. I just pray they improve and this comment looks stupid next weekend.
  7. They wasted 3 G5 opportunities to experiment with the OL and took a public embarrassment to get here, but it finally appears Sark realizes the OL is a huge issue. That is what I took from this hiring.
  8. who knows? It could be Kibble or Chatman in there. Maybe we could say something intelligent, if Flood realized the problem by the 2nd game.
  9. There lot of stuff. It better than things like Passer Rating. There is 0 positional grades outside of PFF. Good coaches put players in positions to succeed. Its why the Purple Wizard was so respected. We are witnessing Sark's have the opposite issue this year. He is running the offense he wants, not the offense his team can run. (Moved to more of a play action deep shot offense, with an OL that cannot run that).
  10. its better than most, but it is definitely not perfect (especially for CFB). It is a solid data point, but not the end all be all.
  11. Stroh is the taller midget at this point
  12. I said a while ago (when Pittman got fired) that I would like to see an NFL OL coach come in. I think there are some issues with our pass pro schemes. Florida was able to dictate match ups (RB on DE 1 on 1). Georgia abused them last year. I dont know OL play. I am sure there is someone in here that knows OL better, than can talk about this.

  14. https://www.footballscoop.com/2025/10/07/texas-hires-veteran-offensive-line-coach-tim-drevno little late but appreciated.
  15. In @BurntOrange&White defense he is the Rock of Gibraltar on his opinions, he thinks everyone sucks and is quite loud about it. He is unwavering on that .
  16. I cannot rule out that the S&C is off, but I do not see the evidence for it. The DL has been really stout. The OL has been soft. If it was something simple like the team was not doing enough heavy squats, you would think it would show up across the board. You also have Stroh, who is as strong as an ox. I lean more to the techniques being taught or not taught on the OL
  17. Last year Texas was led the nation in passes behind the LOS. When the offense worked it was behind OZ and hitting some explosives in the short game mostly. This year the screen game has died. Sark is using more PA and targeting down field. Biggest issue is the OL cannot hold up and nobody respects the run game. Last year's offense was limited, because nobody respected the deep ball. This year's offense is limited, because nobody respects the run game and the OL cannot hold up in pas pro. Sark is going to have to develop a short passing game in a hurry
  18. Last years OL was fine. They were excellent in pass pro. Mediocre in the run game. They could maul weaker DLs with OZ (A&M and Clemson). My complaint on the OL is that Flood has produced nothing but finesse OLs. They catch Dl and screen. They do not fire out with a flat back. Arch would kil to have last year's OL. What did Jammer say? I think something like this OL looks like traffic cones, except traffic cones dont get penalties.
  19. Oregon is starting 3 OL from the portal. If Texas was looking for OL, I am pretty sure agents would inquire
  20. They have not given up. They came out and got pushed around. They actually played better in the 2nd half. I think this was more likely a DL that has not seen an OL fire out at them in over a month with a 230 pound NFL RB behind them. Florida's interior OL is probably the best Texas DL has faced this year.
  21. This is a reasonable take. Arch has improved greatly from OSU and that UTEP debacle. Arch needs to improve. The playmaking ability is obvious. He needs to raise the floor to his game. Still too many WTF plays every game. The OL is a much bigger concern at this point and big reason why Arch is probably going to continue to have WTF moments.
  22. I have 0 idea on who is a leader, but the offense does not really have one of those guys. Campbell is the only guy out there with skins on the wall. Rest are relatively young or first year starters.
  23. Murray is above breaking down all 3 of those. His thoughts on those: 1. Arch is beat too early on that one and a bit high. Not brutal int, actually rather see him a beat early.. 2. Wingo with a poor route and Arch with a poor decision. 3. That was bad. You have to just spike it there and take the L.
  24. Funny thing is people who watched on TV and listened to the announcer are pissing themselves. If you watched live or at a bar without the sound, you have a completely different view. You saw the Film Guy send out tweets hammering Arch during hte game, then he watched the All-22, and sent out a mea culpa to Arch. Murray, who previously hammered Arch, had a similar take in this game. Arch made some errors, nobody said he was great, but the OL and game plan pretty much killed this offense.
