  1. Yes, resumes changed after the conference championship game. That is what I have been saying, glad you agree currently the committee does not have Bama as the #2 SEC team
  2. WHy? Bama's SEC opponents had a 32-32 record this year and Texas opponents were 35-29. OU was 35-29. Alabama benefitted from an easier SEC schedule. It is not like all SEC teams play the same SEC schedule. I know it is crazy to think that you should look at every game a team plays. Again, the committee has Bama as the last team in currently. (used AI for these, so apologize if anything is off, but you get the pt.)
  3. that is my point. I should have also pointed out that Bama is at #10. They are in by the skin of their teeth right now. It is not like the committee ranked them like they are a lock for the playoffs and I cannot imagine the committee moving them up based on the Auburn performance. That said if they put A&M behind Bama tonight, the single digit chance for Texas is dead.
  4. Keep in mind Bama is sitting at #10, so slight movement could put them at 12 or 13 and out of the playoffs (assumes they dont move much tonight). My point is if Bama comes out and looks horrible, it should matter. You cannot pretend the game did not happen. It probably means Bama passing game struggled the last 2 games and that would and should raise questions. If Bama comes out and loses 56-0 and you put Bama in the playoffs, that hurts Conference Championship games also. It is a double-edged sword. Again, the only way I think Bama gets kicked out is if they have a terrible performance. I think that is a reasonable position. Texas moved down because of the game last year, so the precedent is the game matters. Anyone saying that there is no negative ramifications playing in the game has not watched these committees the last decade. I think we may get some insight with how far they move A&M down.
  5. please explain this. Georgia moved up last year beating Texas in a conference championship game. They jumped Texas, so Texas moved down and Georgia moved up. That is clear evidence that CC games do count. If Bama loses in a tight game, it does not matter. If Georgia boat races them, it is a different situation. Then there is the injury situation that could be an issue, which we have seen. I do not think Texas is getting in. I think it is a single digit chance, but the idea that CCG do not matter is incorrect
  6. Arch certainly changed the way defenses played Texas. The coaches did not realize how poor this OL was, impossible for fans to have guessed it would be this bad.
  7. OSU is the easiest place to play QB in the country. They generally roll out 3 1st round WRs every year. Trying to compare an OSU QB to anywhere else is tough. What does Sayin look like behind a poor OL, no run game, and 0 1st round WRs? I do not know, but I know he would not look as good.
  8. Just for the record you are saying NFL drafted guys are the same as this year's group. ASk 99% that watched the last 2 seasons which OL they think is better and they will say 2024. You are the other 1%
  9. I think people need to stop pretending that anything the committee does in 2025 will set a precedent. Losing in title game should matter. You get your doors blown off and your QB loses a leg, it matters. This is a beauty competition, so there will always be subjectivity. Today's precedent might get violated tomorrow. If a CC game can help you, it should also be able to hurt you.
  10. I think Bama needs to get their door blown off for Texas to have a chance. That said the only other way is if you here the committee chair says SOS and OOC scheduling about 20 times on the ESPN show, which I think has about a 1% chance of happening
  11. That is not true. These committees tend to pick on or the other based on their selection. The issue with the committees is they constantly change the parameters. They even do it during the season. How many dramatic changes have we seen from the committee from the penultimate ranking to the final over the years. Just my opinion, but I think a team's ceiling is more important than their floor in the playoffs.
  12. This OL was terrible and not even close to the 2024 unit. Arch makes this OL look passable. Quinn would have died behind this OL. I believe that Texas is in the playoffs, if Stroh/Brooks combo is not playing at Florida. That was an embarrassment and 100% on the coaches.
  13. it is a great idea, but it is not realistic. NCAA would never sanction Vegas to do this. Sports has to pretend Vegas is not a major part of their business.
  14. Texas was not extremely weak at Center and RG. Hell, the RG got drafted. He was one of the best pass blocking guards I have ever seen at Texas.
  15. The best way to do this is to ditch the committee and let Vegas pick the best 12 teams. They are 20x better than a bunch of retired coaches and ADs
  16. The truth is we have no evidence to say that Tech can play with teams like OSU or Georgia. SOS is interesting, but it is not going to tell you who is the best team. I always use UNLV NC hoop team as the example. Amazing team with NBA players all over it, but terrible SOS. They are a wildcard. 59th SOS is ugly.
  17. Tech would be out. Their SOS is terrible. That is not changing. They do not have a marquee win and they have a bad losses. They also lose the recognizable helmet debate favored by Disney
  18. It doesn’t always work like that, based on years of watching this shit it does not work like that. First it will depend on the type of game Bama plays. They lose in OT, they don’t go anywhere. They lose by 30-40 and their QB is lost for season, they are out. The committee will latch on to something this year to explain their picks. Some years it is best win, sometimes worst loss, the only hope for Texas is the committee head comes on and says OOC scheduling and SOS 40 times on the ESPN playoff show
  19. Tech has a terrible SOS. 59 by ESPN.. The Arizona State loss is a bad one. Big 12 will not get 2 in
  20. I think you are placing too much faith in this week’s rankings. Tech has a bad loss already and nobody respects the BYU win. It’s a pretty weak resume
  21. No.. I mean complete domination not a one score game in the 4Q that turns on an onside kick. Not a game box score watchers call dominant
  22. This is never really known. Committee tends to change its tune every year to validate their rankings. I don’t think Texas gets in, but the only path I see is Georgia blowing Bama out. It would have to be ugly
  23. Those games don’t matter. OSU and Indian are both in. Nothing will change that.. The Big 12 is getting 1 team in. Loser of the Tech/BYU game is out
  24. It seems pretty similar. The truth is the vast majority of teams have a couple shitty looking wins. We are more focused on the ones Texas had, because we are Texas fans. We hear Florida, but very little about FSU when Bama is brought up
  25. I am for as many meaningful college football games as possible. I don’t care about the records. Honestly, it seems odd to me that people would rather watch shitty bowl games with the majority of the star players sitting out instead of a loser goes home playoff game. Last year people did not think ND deserved to be in the playoffs, but they almost won the whole thing. We need more meaningful games, not less
