  1. Right now I am going Goosby, Neto, Hutson, DJ, Baker... LG/Center are going to be dependent on each other. Whatever combo between Hutson, Neto, Robertson, and Cruz Flood feels is best.
  2. No idea how that would have worked out. Anyone that says they do is full of shit.
  3. Not sure the point when you are comparing a freshmen coming off the bench for a 3 year starter. There should be a wide gap based on experience. If they played the same you would think the freshmen would improve at a greater level as this is the 1st time he is seeing an excellent defense.
  4. Arch looked the same as Quinn did in that 1st half. Guessing you are blocking out how Quinn looked for the 1st 1.7 quarters
  5. separate, but definitely integral to the run game.
  6. He needs to go. This is similar to Jonathan Brooks leaving last year. Last year's RB class was really weak. This years is ridiculously deep. Was a good decision to leave. Quinn needs to leave given how weak the QB class is considered.
  7. Beck, Swaim, and Bluiett were all good, but that is going back to 2018 and longer. Would be nice if Spencer Shannon or Jordan Washington could provide some solid blocking. I highly doubt Niblack will offer an upgrade
  8. Been a long time since Texas has a positive at TE in the run game.
  9. That is a bold statement. Quinn will get 50% more than Beck. I think Quinn is heading to the NFL, so it doesn’t matter
  10. If you are going to say nonsensical things like A&M, OU, and Michigan defenses did not have a pulse, than you are correct. I just think you are the only one that has that opinion. ASU was a bad game, no sugarcoating that. OSU and Georgia are pretty stacked with talent, so not surprising it was tough sledding in those games.
  11. IF I am going to complain about Sark it is not for calling plays. It was the offense being sloppy. Where does this offense rank if penalties and turnovers were cleaned up? 87th in penalties/game 87th in turnovers lost per game (1.6 per)
  12. OL was the only unit on the offense that was up for national awards. That was a line that started three 3 stars.
  13. its an NIL world now, so all of this could be BS. Ewers was probably telling the truth that he intends to go to the draft. That does not mean if OSU or Bama call and offer him 6-8 million for a season, he wont change his mind. If he was my kid, I would tell him to wait until the last minute to officially apply to the draft
  14. Our problems in the run game have shit to do with second and 3rd level players OSU safeties had 5 TFLs in this game. I would say they made their presence felt in the run game.
  15. He had 2 fumbles in 65 attempts in 2023. Right about the same carries per fumble
  16. i think it is bigger than mere fumbles and 4 fumbles on 134 carries is bad. Westbrook was really good. Has Blue shown great vision? Does he exhibit contact balance? Do you see great lateral ability between the tackles? I prefer to keep him, but right now I only see a 3rd down RB. Maybe he develops into something more in the NFL.
  17. You not listening. Colilns is considered a LB in PK's defense. He actually drops (see the long the screen TD) and is involved as a SPY. Sorrell drops occasionally also, though much less. We all remember seeing 6'7" Ethan Burke dropping. The numbers only refer to how many DL, LBs, and Secondary players there are. The typical Texas lineup is Simmons/Moore, A Collins, Broughton, and Sorrell. PK characterizes the Buck and Jack as LBs, hence it is a 2-4-5. Though it looks like a 4-2-5. A 3-3-5 looks like a 4-2-5, soon as you put a LB on the edge. You will see a 3-3-5 that looks like a 5-1-5 with 2 LBs on the edge. You see these looks all the time. When you say 3-3-5 or a 2-4-5 cannot hold up against the run, it is not correct. Lot of DC will use what is characterized as a 3-3-5 or 2-4-5 for the flexibility. You can put 5 or 6 on the LOS and drop 1-2. You can put 4 on the LOS and drop none. I believe when you say 3-3-5, you are speaking strictly of a 3-3-5 stack. Even then lot of those guys will blitz a LB to morph it into a 4-2 at the snap. PK's 2-4-5 looks like a 4-2-5. https://www.on3.com/teams/texas-longhorns/news/the-pete-kwiatkowski-defensive-glossary/ https://www.footballstudyhall.com/2015/5/1/8528407/modern-defense-and-the-2-4-5-vs-the-3-3-5\ This why I said dont get caught up how the defense is characterized, unless you want to go down that rabbit hole.
  18. I am guessing it is a bit more complex than that. Quinn was a good college QB with some warts. His pocket presence was bad. He was good for 1-3 self-sacks a game. He was probably among the leaders in turnovers nationally with 17 this year. Not to mention Sark benched him. That kind of woke up the national media and fanbase on the Manning/Ewers debate.
  19. Watch one drive and that will tell me he had 15 foot windows to throw all game. Thanks
  20. Simon may surprise. His dad was in the NFL and prepped him. He may come a little more prepared, than most freshmen
  21. Texas ran it on 1st down on that fatal goal line series. Not up the A gap, but a big fatty was in the backfield lead blocking
  22. 3-3-5, 4-2-5, 2-4-5 can all look the same. PK’s is technically a 2-4-5.. 2DL, 4 Lbs, and 5 DBs as the base.. It basically comes down to how a DC names his players and moves them around. I wouldn’t get caught up in what people call a defense. You will get a better idea by just seeing how they line up
  23. At no point was Colin Simmons 15 feet away from Howard
  24. I think Cole Hutson is odds on favorite. Guessing those 3 will compete. Hutson could move back to guard, if Cruz or Robertson are ready
  25. Center would be interesting. That is a position you would like manned by someone with a lot of experience, considering your QB is starting his first year
