  1. I get the sentiment, but Elhinger and Taaffe would like a word with you.
  2. It will be and Klubnick playing hero ball is Clemson's best path to a win. They have talent at receiver. I think the defense can limit that. The one issue that worries me is turnover margin. Clemson is #5 in the country. They are #8 at causing turnovers (25). 9th in turnovers lost (9). Texas has a positive turnover margin, but that is based on defense being unreal. Texas is is tied for #1 with ND in turnovers gained with 28, but 114th in turnovers lost with 22. IF the offense takes care of the ball, I see Texas winning. One thing I have not seen mentioned, Clemson is 14th in yards/rush allowed in the ACC at 4.56 per. That is 90th in the country. If Texas can establish the run game and limit turnovers, this should be a comfortable win.
  3. Are you saying Texas is the only team that throws crossing routes, slants, posts, etc? This is silly Sark also does a lot of things to make things easy on Quinn. 43% of his throws are Play action . 18% of his throws are screens. 12% are RPOs. That leaves only ~25% of his throws being pure drop back.
  4. Texas 23 clemson 13 279 yards
  5. Playing the man, not the hand
  6. Saw quite a few stalk and go type routes from Texas in this game. Fake the screen blocking and then run a route. Moore’s score was on that If it didn’t time stamp it, it’s is at 26:15 mark. Sark is good for 1-2 of these a game.
  7. Whole line of thinking is stupid. Like receivers and OL didn’t make plays to gain that yardage. Only TD was Moore making someone miss on nice play call. We are supposed to pretend that was all Quinn? I thought YAC yards were around 125-150 in this game (can’t remember the exact figure). Receivers get 0 credit on that?
  8. Just my opinion, but Georgia’s game plans and play calling were elite vs Texas. Georgia was multiple. They would mix their calls at an elite level. You would see a run call. You would pass rush stunts on 1st down. I don’t know if they found a couple tells or they just have a really good feel for Sark the play caller. I am not saying there were not plays to be had, but it was very rare that Sark caught Georgia in the wrong defense
  9. You are so dug in and invested in this, that you are incapable of seeing it. The slightest criticism of Quinn and you respond by blaming anyone and everyone around him. At minimum you are no better than what you are claiming posters are doing to Quinn.
  10. This is true. My biggest issue with Quinn. Is the turnover rate and turnover worthy plays. That is one of the biggest issues facing Texas currently. Quinn had been pretty good in that regard historically, but since coming back it has been bad.
  11. He was great, not perfect, made a lot of badass catches on throws by Quinn. Perfect he was not. Neither was Quinn. Completely agree. If most posts were like this one, this thread would not be so long (I’d have to go back and look at the tipped pass, but in general hard to call a tipped pass a drop. Change of trajectory is usually pretty tough on a receiver)
  12. #1 that is one poster. #2 2/10 for 5 yards in the Redzone is bad. That is a fact. Not sure what you arguing there #3 Auburn wasn’t better. He was 4/5 inside 50 yards, that 1 miss was the result of a penalty taking the made FG off the board. Missed a 50+ yard FG, which is a coin flip for most college kickers, hard to get mad about that. Saying Auburn couldn’t make FGs, is a distortion. #4 Their WRs dropped balls. That speedster they have had a couple. One late in the half on an amazing throw by Beck downfield #5. The Texas defense was bad in that OT, but it was also the best unit on the field for Texas. Interesting you pointed a finger at them as a way to defend Quinn. Again showing your perspective I said Texas lost because they couldn’t make plays in critical moments and struggled in the Redzone. That includes Quinn, the offense, and the defense. The team lost. (ran out of time trying too edit. Apologies)
  13. #1 that is on poster. #2 2/10 for 5 yards in the Redzone is bad. That is a fact. Not sure what you arguing there #3 Auburn wasn’t better. #4 Their WRs dropped balls. That speedster they have had a couple. One late in the half on an amazing throw by Beck downfield
  14. I think I remember that blitz. Didn’t both the CB and DE blitz the same gap? So many mental errors in that game… Texas has not been great in critical moments on either side of the ball for quite some time.
  15. UHH, no shit. How many times did I say losing last weekend wasn’t the fault of a single player?
  16. Agree, but Gabriel taking off was arguably the biggest issue for the defense in that game
  17. I would bet the pressure numbers were solid, but typical for last year didn’t finish. I know pass rushing lane integrity was a massive issue. Red Zone obviously another one. Like most games you can probably look at 3-4 factors that could have changed the results
  18. If I recall there were 2-3 busted coverages on that series alone, including the final TD.. this what fans do, they place blame most based on the the last 5 minutes of the game and forget the 100+ plays prior that could have changed the results
  19. Come on. Lots of things went wrong vs OU last year. You can start with turnovers and pass defense. You one of the least impartial people on here, when it comes to responsibility for losses. You- MSNBC BO&W- Fox News
  20. Moore has been the starter since the opening game. He had been very good catching the ball, until Florida game. He had a bad drop in the Georgia game. Probably one of the few that ended a drive or wasn’t overcome. He also made a great move to break a short throw for a TD in this game. I have not heard anyone claim he is a bad route runner or seen anything from him to believe that, outside the amazingly tired debate over the missed opportunity in the Redzone vs Georgia here.
  21. If they call a tipped pass a drop, that is really harsh..
  22. I think Texas has at least 11 wins this season with either QB. People can mention Michigan or Florida, but I don’t see Texas losing either game with Arch in those games. The defense dominated both games. Margin of victory might have been different, but not the results. You could say the same for Ark and A&M game. Those might have been an easier wins with Arch. That is probably why this thread will never end
  23. Pass was slightly off to the inside and touch under thrown (obviously looking with a critical eye). My general view was it was good offense vs good coverage. Defender didn’t hit the ball, but he had his arm between Golden’s arms and body. Not sure he doesn’t make a play to break it up, if Golden grabs it. I get people calling it a drop, but it is on that line to me. More a contested catch situation that could go either way. I can’t remember another throw that you would consider a drop for Golden
  24. Wait a minute. Golden has multiple dropped passes? I cannot really remember a bad drop from Golden this year. Possible it has happened, but he has been one of the most consistent players for the offense. I don’t characterize that end zone play as a drop. That is definitely a contested catch opportunity. Catchable pass, but I wouldn’t say a drop. Even if you want to call that a drop, I cannot think of another. He also makes the tough catches (50/50 ball on sideline being one).
  25. Myself and 20 others posters have bitched about that play. It was poor, but it also has not been a systemic issue for Texas. Reason it was so annoying was Texas played 2 mobile Qbs in the 3 prior games (Ark and A&M) and made the proper adjustments. No reason to doubt the defense at this point. It is possible Klubnik has the game of his life, but I am not betting against the defense. They have been consistent. The offense is a completely different discussion.
