  1. Its the playoffs. I get that point if it is vs San Jose State this year, but not in the playoffs. You do what you can do in the playoffs. He thought Arch was the best option on 4th down to help get to a NC game, you have to call that. I understand Arch trying to make a play, but it should be a learning lesson for this year.
  2. I get the point. That said the play worked very well. It may be a great learning lesson for Arch. He had the first down and tried to maximize the run, instead of getting down after he got the first down and avoiding the hit.
  3. 4th & 5 at UGA 19 (4:45 - 2nd) Texas Penalty, False Start (Freddie Dubose) to the UGA 24 Lot of blame to go around, but Texas was in the redzone 3 times in that game and came away with 6 pts. In Georgia territory 8 times in that game and scored 19 pts.
  4. I think there was a Georgia guy the year before that started 1 year and went 1st round. I dont think you can make a cookie cutter statement on these things. Goosby has the length and movement ability to be a 1st round guy. He needs some work though, especially in the run game.
  5. The biggest question is how long they will take to gel. I like the talent and potential.
  6. ILB usually gets a discount. The exception to that rule is guys that can rush the passer. Hill has that ability, so I think 1st round is possible. Goosby definitely, but needs to make a step or 2 in run blocking Burke going in round 1 would be a major surprise. I hope it happens
  7. Damn.. They didn’t have to do that to Quinn. You could see this was a really rough day for him
  8. Miami is a good spot for Quin.
  9. Kitan Crawford gets drafted. Good for him
  10. Damn, even Hayden Conner goes before Quinn
  11. Going to make more from his first NIL deal, the one he skipped HS senior year, than from his 1st NFL contract. Looks pretty good now
  12. It is the Brian Scalabrini (Sp?) thing. Loved when he went to courts to destroy people at 40. He wasn’t very athletic in the NBA, but he is still in the top 1% of the general population athletically
  13. Milroe is a great athletes with a strong arm and a good deep ball. He is Anthony Richardson, but actually a better passer. That isn’t a high bar. He has the highest ceiling of any of the QBs and the lowest floor. In the 3rd Round it’s probably worth that lottery ticket, even if I think it’s less than a 10% chance of hitting that ceiling. Gabriel is the poor man’s version of Drew Brees. He is not big. He is not a great athlete. His arm is mediocre at best. He is accurate and knows how to play the position. He is the polar opposite of Milroe.
  14. VY is with a handful of other QBs whose career might have been significantly different if they came along 10 years later.
  15. If I recall correctly, there were a lot of comments about him being a gunslinger that was loose with the football and played in a system that did not prepare him for the NFL. Turned out he was a gunslinger in college, because that was the only chance Tech had to win.
  16. I saw a mock on Youtube or ESPN, forgot which one. They had Walter Nolen falling to Philly. The comment was "of course Walter Nolan falls into the lap of Philly".
  17. No idea how this plays out, but the staff treated Lole pretty similarly. They babied him until the season got going.
  18. This has been a brutal QB class. If you go back to September, Beck was considered to be the first pick at one point. Quinn was top 10 at one point. Miller Moss and Nussmeier were in the 1st round briefly. This QB class is like a bad reality show. It more about who didnt get voted off the island, than who had a great season.
  19. Quinn has had QB coach since about the time he shed his diapers. I am not sure anyone is going to be able to change his motion at this point. I think it is very ingrained.
  20. I think Quinn has a pretty good arm. I have seen him unleash a few. The deep out vs Bama as a frosh was NFL level throw. He is more of touch passer though. You dont see him uncork it often. I also think the one scout was on the money. He is arm thrower. He doesnt always get his lower body involved in the thow and that takes away from his arm strength.
  21. This is spot on. Quinn was just a roller coaster. There were moments of greatness that got everyone excited about his future. There were some WTF throws and ugly games. He was a solid QB, but for the majority of his starts he left you wanting more. Most saw the growth from year 1 to year 2 and were expecting the break out in year 3, unfortunately that did not happen. Turnovers were oddly a huge issue in his last year.
  22. The talent is just a fact. Texas set a record for draft picks last year and they may break that this year. These were 2 of the most talented teams Texas has produced as a program. Quinn contributed to the wins and losses the last 2 years. I wouldn’t say he led Texas back. I think the defense is probably the biggest reason Texas for the recent success. That stats confirm that
  23. hmmm. SEC stats Dart: 154/244, 63%, 2.321 yards, 9.51 per/att, 13 TDs, 4 ints... 89 carries, 362 yards Ewers: 175/273, 64%, 1974 yards, 7.23 per/att, 17 Tds, 7 ints.... 36 carries, -63 yards that doesnt include fumbles lost. I couldnt find fumbles for SEC games only, but Dart had 0 and Quinn had 5 on the season.
  24. This post is a beating. Thread was dead for 4 weeks and the first thing off your keyboard is Derka's name.
  25. Was his injury ever disclosed? I am of the opinion that he probably should not have been playing vs OSU, especially given the lack of run game. I do not think he was close to healthy. Respect the fact he went out there and played injured, but I would have preferred to see Goosby. Very talented guy, but raw and mistake prone. If he lands in the right spot, I could see him with a long NFL career. Very high ceiling for a guy projected 4th or later.
