  1. I don’t think your take on the DL is wrong, just your take on Sydir. Texas took 1 IDL last year. That is certainly not optimal. They are going to need some younger players to step and/or have a nice DT class this year
  2. Bledsoe is a freak. JMO, he is the most physically gifted DL on the roster. He came in very raw, so hopefully he puts it together. Portal is a long shot. You don’t find many high level interior DL there, you can say that about the DL in general. Those guys are just too rare and coveted.
  3. This is just wrong. Sydir is in no way a flier. He is probably one of the safer DL prospects that Texas has taken in quite some time. He projects to an excellent run stuffing tackle with upside as an interior pass rusher. Probably sounds similar to Coburn’s outlook as a prospect. There is a reason Georgia pursued him to the end. The rating agencies place far too much on pass rushing potential on interior DL prospects. It’s why a guy like Broughton was so highly rated. They saw the athleticism and drooled over a 300+ pound DT/4i DE and missed the fact he wasn’t very physical and played too high. If you can’t play vs the run as a IDL, you pretty much can’t stay on the field
  4. All depends on how it plays out. Those teams had great QB play. IF Ewers and the OL take steps forward, RB will not be a big issue. IF they dont, we will all be miserable missing Bijan...Though I think the biggest positive change will be in the WR room this year.
  5. I think Texas has wasted their brand in recruiting for decades. I am all for recruiting Texas and owning the state, but I think Texas has over-played that hand for a long time. I think Sark is just being logical and looking outside the state, when it is necessary. It something Mack should have done 25 years ago, when Texas was rolling. The SEC move has made this easier, but the decade long mediocre play probably evens that out.
  6. Not up to speed on 2024, but who is the inside runner of that group?
  7. Isnt the 12 man Association directly affiliated with the University? I dont know the rules of NIL, but that seems sketchy to me.
  8. What?? https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/nfl-qb-rush-yards-leaders-2022 Your can run seems to indicate they have a pulse and are capable of running (Kirk Cousins??), except for Jones who it one of the best running QBs in the NFL. Scrambling to buy time and running read option are entirely 2 different things. The vast majority of the NFL barely use their QBs in the running game.
  9. I like the 3 permanent rivalries, but that is going to piss some people off. It still better than the 1 permanent rival, but it is nearly impossible to keep all the rivalries/in-state games together.
  10. Simmons, Black, and Cruz for me. I might add Alex January, since he seems to be the only interior DL from Texas that Bo is after. Not all 5 stars, but guys you have to sign. Finding replacements will be very hard. Hudson would be a great get, but I am not going to put any WR in the must get category. You can find WRs.
  11. it was a hold, but they had been letting that go most the game. I did not like the call and thought it a ticky tack call, but it was a hold.
  12. Spearing has been on the books for 40+ years. If refs just called that, there would be no need for targeting. (I’ll refrain and save you from my rant on penalize the technique, not the result)
  13. This game has been a clinic by both offensive lines. 1 sack in the game and that was a self-sack by Hurts. Run game working for both
  14. It was. That is why I hate the rules. You can legally hit a guy and get a penalty, if you touch the helmet. You can spear the shit out of anyone below the head, without fear of a penalty. Though not nearly as bad in the NFL
  15. Philly does have the best OL in the NFL. Hurts hasn’t been asked to get too many yards on his own. They are moving the KC DL consistently
  16. Game on the line and KC completely blows a coverage
  17. hurts taking that self-sack helped the Chiefs out there
  18. To be fair the NFL isn’t the most forward thinking league. There are not a lot of teams that would completely design an offense around a running QB. It’s rare now, didn’t happen in VY’s days. That said fuck Fisher
  19. Eagles have put together an offense to emphasize Hurd’s strength and hide his weaknesses. Imagine if someone did that for VY..
  20. This. It is interesting to watch a Super Bowl where a college offense looks dominant
  21. Yes, I was wrong on the redshirt. His 86 rushes and passes combined out of 970 offensive snaps with almost 25% of them coming in the blow out vs Georgia doesnt quiet scream "played a lot in 2021" to me, but each to their own.
  22. Not sure if Fields redshirted, but he certainly did not start. I think MCCarthy at Michigan redshirted last year and started this year. Sam Huard redshirted and spent the year as a back-up in year 2 at Washington. Brock Vandagrift hasn’t played at Georgia. Kyle McCord is still on the bench at OSU. There were six 5 star QBs in the 2021 class and only Ewers, Caleb Williams, and McCarthy have gotten meaningful time.
  23. Didnt I say that or is this just an add for Nahlin? A guy that is probably 5'8"/5'9" and listed at 210 is actually kind of thick. If he got to ~220 that would not be a small RB, I am not sure he can get there. Rojo served as the power RB at 220-225 the last couple years at 6'2". Red is short, but he is not sub 200 pounds. To be honest, I am a bit mystified by this move. RB room has a plethora of 3rd down RBs and a dearth of guys that can go between the tackles. His HS film did show a tough runner. I have to imagine the coaches think that can translate to RB, because I really can not come up with another reason to make that move (unless the are some injuries/issues we are unaware of). It seems redundant, if the coaches are looking to make him another 3rd down type back with Wisner, Robinson, and Blue. that is not including the "little bowling ball" comment above this one
