  1. Was that Todd Orlando calling the safety blitz there?
  2. I think Michigan has a better chance of a Milroe turnover leading to points, than the offense going 25 yards.
  3. Not sure the Michigan offense is better than OU, but that is a tallest midget debate Michigan is playing their second string defense. Basically the entire starting DL opted out. Crazy thing was Milroe was probably thinking "Ill boost my draft status by playing the corpse of the Michigan defense in the bowl game".. Ooops
  4. just straight vanilla red zone TD%, Texas is 48th https://cfbstats.com/2024/leader/national/team/offense/split01/category27/sort05.html
  5. those are for both. Arch Redzone rating is 266.46 (5 TDs, 0 ints) vs 177.8 for Ewers.
  6. I view things like PFF and QBR as just a singular data point. Both have their merits and flaws. What people do them is their own choice. The great thing about them is people tend to shit on them when it does not support their opinion and love them when they do.
  7. There only 1 team in the country that has turned the ball over less than ASU. That team is Vanderbilt. Vandy only has 7 turnovers on the year. They turned it over 3 times vs Texas. Hopefully, ASU matches that.
  8. These guys are all very young and the sample sizes are all pretty small to take much from this. We dont when these happened, if there is a trend, or what type of talent they made the catches against.
  9. Personally, I dont put much into bulletin board material at this point in the season. Its a playoff game. I assume nobody is lacking motivation. Doing it in week 4 in a nondescript game as almost a 2 td underdog is unadvisable. I hope the Texas players feel the same way. Texas just needs to play their game and mind their assignments to win this game.
  10. not much to take from that between Wesco and Wingo. Neither are seeing the best CB and Wingo is likely seeing a higher level of CB play (based on the last 10 years of drafting).
  11. I have seen Wingo make contested catches. Your rebuttal is Wesco caught a tipped ball. You are really trying too hard to shit on Texas players. How many 50/50 ball opportunities do you think Wingo has had? Take out the PIs, because those are obviously positive plays for the offense.
  12. this is stupid. People are calling the next Megatron. This is like being disappointed by Cedric Baxter, because he did not look like Adrian Peterson in his first year
  13. He is a true freshmen that isnt even a starter, so star receiver seems to be a bit of an exaggeration. I believe he had 2 catchable downfield opportunities vs Clemson and both end up in PIs. I am not sure what your expectations are for him, but 2 for 2 with 30 yards of penalties is pretty good to me.
  14. How many PIs has he garnered?
  15. That is the irony of this. When I wrote I do not think ASU will break 20 pts, I assumed most would understand my expectations for Leavitt in this game and how seriously I took the #1 grading by PFF. Just saying the guy is a good QB
  16. That is strange take away given I said the following I guess you just felt the need to espouse on the virtues of PFF's grading system. Hope it made you feel better
  17. I do not think he is a great QB. I am pointing out he has been a damn good college QB. He has 17 TDs and 1 int over the last 6 games. He has thrown 3TDs or more with 0 interceptions 5 times in that span. I agree that this will be a tough test for him. I doubt the OL can hold up vs the Texas pass rush and the WRs can get open. I am just saying he isnt a scrub. He is capable of making some plays. He would probably rank in the top 3 of Qbs that TExas has faced this year.
  18. That is a take. Texas has an OL ranked 7th in run blocking and #1 in pass protection by PFF. There are few situations in the country better for a QB than at Texas this year. Texas is going to lose 4 starters off that OL, maybe 5. Going from arguably the best OL in the country to possibly replacing all 5 starters and you think the offense should be better? This is a take straight out of fantasy football, where skill positions are all that matter
  19. Ranking the 8 remaining quarterbacks in the College Football Playoff by PFF grades ASU has a WR problem, but Leavitt has been very good all year. He is actually graded the #1 QB in these playoffs by PFF. I still dont think ASU is going to break 20 pts, but people are under-estimating him as a player.
  20. Sweat. Felt like he could take 2 OL and 2 Gaps on every play at times. Just freed up everyone else
  21. It is really rare for this conversation to happen to a 3 year starter. Last I think of is Chris Simms. Here is the PFF grades for the remaining QBs in the playoffs. 8. Stockton: Offense: 57.6Pass: 54.7Run: 61.6Overall Rank: Not ranked 7. Ewers: Offense: 72.0Pass: 71.2Run: 56.2Overall Rank: 154 Ewers is either really good or he's getting benched in favor of Arch Manning. There's no in between. For the season, Ewers has 2,867 passing yards to go with 28 touchdowns, but 10 big interceptions. Texas can go all the way, but only if Ewers is on. 6. Maddux: Offense: 75.9Pass: 72.1Run: 69.1Overall Rank: 110 5. Howard: Offense: 84.2Pass: 84.2Run: 61.7Overall Rank: 43 4. Allar: Offense: 85.5Pass: 82.2Run: 75.0Overall Rank: 35 3. Leonard: Offense: 85.6Pass: 75.9Run: 83.2Rank: 34 2. Gabriel: Offense: 89.9Pass: 89.3Run: 63.3Overall Rank: 16 1. Leavitt: Offense: 90.1Pass: 85.6Run: 78.1Overall Rank: 15 Ranking the 8 remaining quarterbacks in the College Football Playoff by PFF grades
  22. This where I am at. Turnovers and penalties have haunted Texas all year. That was cleaned up vs Clemson. Keep it clean and this is a beating
  23. It is a bit of a double edged sword though as you touched on. The motion can clear up reads for a QB, but there is also managing all that motion. There is timing to motion (you dont want a snap hitting a leg as an example) and things like making sure people are set (you snap it before and its illegal procedure).
  24. Michigan Quinn is what we all want. Texas is going to see some talented defenses after this week. This should be tune up and confidence builder for the offense. The Michigan Quinn that showed the best pocket presence of his career will likely be needed to win these playoffs.
  25. irony of this is amazing. You started out saying OL could not pass protect vs Georgia. I pointed out that PFF credit them with 2 sacks allowed. I mentioned that the sacks were combination of OL, RBs, TEs, and QB. You decided to latch on to that. So to sum this up you created a false narrative about the OL to combat the false narrative about Quinn. fantastic. Little curious as to what you think the false narratives on Quinn are (outside the "pussy) in this thread
