  1. Cape Verde soccer stadium is pretty awesome. Please tell me their logo is a blue shark wearing a green cape.
  2. Just let Mexico have it so people can fucking enjoy the games and the decent people.
  3. Cam any one link to a decent, fair article on Charlie Kirk's viewpoints. I didn't waste a second getting to know what those views were when he was alive, and while what little I have learned since his death hasn't impressed me much, I wouldn't mind reading a longer profile on the guy and his views.
  4. He looked comfortable against Toronto. He'll get into the swing of things.
  5. Columbus went down to the ocean in 1492 He said, "Boys, I'm looking for India, but America will do" Sailed to the west, you know the rest
  6. I think this one is going to go a long time -- so long that it highlights the question as to whether there is any point to any government.
  7. Going to be at the SMU game. Go Stanford. Fuck the USC wannabees.
  8. I'm still liking this strategy - the only strategy that might create the possibility of someone in the GOP (like Marjorie) growing a pair.
  9. Yet it will be viewed by more than half of this nation as a foreign policy victory for Trump. The long-term cost of 70K dead and a region destroyed simply won't be factored in. It's a ceasefire. Therefore good. That's a news item I can quickly digest. Next issue?
  10. The absolute pointlessness of spending time "calling out" people for idiotic social media posts and comments in this political environment, and the utility of not wasting anyone's time on such efforts.
  11. Who the fuck cares? Who is going to suddenly say - oh, they just got called out? To them, just because they prefer Lee Greenwood doesn't mean they are racist. Everyone in the fucking world knows exactly who these folks are and what they will do and what they think and they are either with them or they aren't. Call outs and shaming and clever tweets and especially reposting their nonsense doesn't mean shit, and all it accomplishes is making good people waste their time instead of doing good things.
  12. Got to hand it to the Republicans. They will make the best possible lemonade (in their opinions) out of this. Who knew that gutting the government would be so easy?
  13. Need to know whether they have High Life before I can pick sides on this one.
  14. I got an idea. Why don't people ignore social media posts which are devoid of factual information like concern venues, game start times, happy hours?
  15. His mama named him Conejito Malo and I'mma call him Conejito Malo.
  16. We gonna pull a sheet over they heads.
  17. The only theory that makes any sense to me is that it is all Linus' thumb sucking blanket. People see government control as a way to keep them safe. They value safety over liberty. If you keep brown people and heathens away from me, why do I need liberty anyway?
  18. Keep using it if you don't think it's a pejorative. But I think most questions about why we can't have nice things can be answered by "Before right wingers...."
  19. Whether right or wrong, the positiveness of diversity and equity have been co-opted by warped semantics. Inclusion covers both ideas. Woke is rightfully a pejorative.
  20. No. I think the idiocracy is so strong in this country that that the label "progressive" is problematic. I think because of this idiocracy progressives do need to focus and simplify the message, and redefine their approach to law enforcements' trampling on civil rights and creating equality of opportunity without focusing on "identity" outside of economic status. Just because anyone with a brain knows that Black Lives Matter doesn't mean the term hasn't been turned into a weight by the rabble.
  21. I think Talarico has a fighting chance. I think Nathan Johnson for AG has a better chance. If these guys can get some decent press I think they can close the deal. And Colin Allred should have stayed put when he was a US rep.
  22. Hang on, I'm not paying attention - who is being runoft? I really am a big tent guy and I'll take anyone who will vote against GOP. I personally think the progressives are the folks who are fucking things up, but I think part of it is a definitional problem. I think "progressive" is a bit of a broken definition. If I am in an anti-progressive mood, the definition has too much identity politics and defund the police woven in. If I am in a pro-progressive mood, it's about a color blind radically progressive tax system and universal health care.
