  1. I have similar higher end iron that I got in 2000 from an outdoor store on Airport. Replacing the cushions evry two years is perfect. After 20+ I need to powdercoat them for the next 20 years
  2. Plus very little of the muti function turn signal and ten other functions on the stalk.
  3. I've decided the off season is really off this year
  4. Exactly... I second the use of explosives and video
  5. Palisades zoysia is shade tolerant and drought tolerant
  6. For a minute I thought you meant The Quarry in San Antonio. Played that a few years ago for a business meeting in August. Their are 4-5 holes that are way below ground level so it was about 120 degrees and no wind. Only time I ever remember in a scramble when we took the first decent shot. No sense hanging around for everyone to hit. I called those holes The Frying Pan
  7. Welcome to the world of british cars...
  8. My right arm says hold my beer. Freak accident in the first hour of black diamond week at Taos. Nothing to do with getting ego ahead of skill. Hit a small rut at 5 mph, fell on right side and snapped the upper right arm clean across and split the stub into the shoulder. Didn't even knock the skiies off. Sometimes it happens. It happened on an icy slope and guessing there was a large rock under the ice
  9. Well in 1980 the finals between LA and Philly were on tape delay. Whole different league after Magic an Bird showed up
  10. Correct - and then forgot to order coleslaw with them
  11. My state farm didn't work like that but probably an exception. They would not accept stated value until the restoration was finished. Left me in limbo since I had already paid for over half the work. If the shop burned down I would have been out that amount. Haggerty had no issues
  12. You hit the subject on the head. The problem iwth the meniscus is lack of blood flow to a lot of it. That's why they snip out the tear. If the area has blood they sew it back
  13. Started skiing a few years after the first knee surgery which had both sides opened up. No issues. Tore meniscus in same knee in 2010. It totally depends on what type of tear (bucket handle etc). Bucket handle has quick recivery because they cut out the tear. Other types get the tear sewn back. Less long term issues but longer rehab. I have had no issues in 12 years. Haven't skiied on it but I would have no fear trying.
  14. Nashville is claiming their 1990's stadium needs replacing. Man their must be different standards for construction materials for a building that lasts 100 years and a stadium that doesn't make 30
  15. Yeah - If I have to jump off a cliff in mid run I would really appreciate a lot of warnings ahead of time
  16. Last quote was 175 each. No clue why overiders were 75 each and hubcaps 2x that. Gonna go with aftermarket here. We are not talking fancy - 9 inch and round
  17. That was one of McRaven's opening remarks. he said he had no idea who spoke at his so something like "if you can't be memorable be brief". Of course he was memorable.
  18. My bumpers and overiders were about 600 each which is OK. Just got another quote and everyone wants 150 each for dog dish half moon hubcaps. My top amount is 100 and that is almost 3x aftermarket. I am not doing a show car so I guess aftermarket is it
  19. Could we get a few more details on this?
  20. has anyone rechromed hubcaps? I can buy knock off of the dog dish caps for 35 bucks but the rechromers want 150 per cap. I know the 35 bucks ones are probably crap but 600 bucks ain't cheap either
  21. That's the problem. British used cellulose paint in 60's and single stage. No one sells it anymore and it probably had lead in it. So you are about 2-3 degrees of freedom from the original. Best hope is to match the original in an odd place - like the back of the dash etc.
  22. Man choosing paint is not easy. I know what I want - the same as we used in the 80's. Unfortunately you can't buy that anymore. After 2 years up north being worked on mechanically it is getting close to paint time. In the early 80's we matched the original paint and got PPG paint in the color below. Unfortunately that is not longer sold. The interwebs are full of stories of matching MGA Iris Blue and it seems like maybe/possibly the 1979 VW Florida Blue is it. Getting samples sent to me. Really wish Dad had left an old can around somewhere to make it easier know
  23. We got Taco Mama and if you try to take that - Civil War starts again.
  24. Well I am just glad you are discussing things south of the Tennessee River
