  1. Manure can combust under the right circumstances, but it's more likely to gas you to death. The grain dust accumulation from the feed would probably burn a bit faster though.
  2. Wear on building and systems exacerbated by the stress of winter weather. Could have been as simple as a vent fan spinning a bearing and starting a fire, and once it gets going you aren't going to be able to do much about it. If it was a 100K unit it was probably stretched past the designed life span already.
  3. That is a little ass laying operation. My aggie cousin runs a medium sized one that is 1.0 million hens. Also, confinement livestock stuff burns down constantly every winter, it's part of the deal.
  4. You also came through a seasonal demand bulge with Christmas baking season. We've pretty well caught of up with broilers from bid flu, but it takes a bit more with layers. Milk futures are off about 20% since November, and that should continue to ease a bit. Beef and pork whole sale has moderated significantly, but pork will start the seasonal run higher soon with meh numbers overall, and beef eventually takes off a bit as we are headed into the tightest part of the cattle cycle soon, and biology is not your friend there.
  5. I have the 4 cylinder turbo, which is quick enough for the suicide merge I have on my commute.
  6. I'll note that at my office in an ag business, outside of the old guy, I am the only person that doesn't drive a full sized truck with my Bronco sport. With the ability to lay seats down and a rubberized cargo area, I have as good of a cargo area as them, and I can work it up and down some of the narrow trails at the various parks on the River Bluffs, and leave usable space in my garage. For practicality I don't see what I would gain by paying significantly more for a truck.
  7. I bet ol’TBoneHusker there’s favorite Huskers were always fullbacks excepting Andra Franklin and Willie Miller
  8. Do the major banks collectively know shit about fuck, though?
  9. I'll just note where I work, we continue to have support staff and goods cut back, and more things added to everyones plate, then management is baffled the they've lost 20% of the company in a year despite paying very well.
  10. Is this going to end with’em getting Waco’ed?
  11. Should have just picked a flat spot along I-29 near the state line and hashed it out there.
  12. It's still wild to me that Sam Pittman, and Willie Fritz were on the same defensive unit at Pitt State.
  13. Looks like my Aunt and Uncle by Giddings about to cash in on not knocking over their old hog buildings.
  14. https://www.1011now.com/2022/12/27/former-nebraska-qb-rescues-family-burning-home/ It's no surprise to me that the Yolo Bomb king ran into a burning house to save people.
  15. Maybe another neighbor will beat his ass again
  16. I was also going to say since you farm, you are probably pretty familiar with talk that so and so is paying such and suches way in life. (Whether it’s true or not)
  17. On a food note, wholesale chicken is back to 2010 lows, and boxed beef is back near early pandemic lows. (That won’t last due to where we are in the cattle cycle)
  18. I guess drinking, doing drugs, not being picky about what you fuck, and hunting and fishing, along with some light selling of stolen goods doesn’t amount to living
  19. Yes, but the active ones in Nebraska are out west. The shut the SE Nebraska ones down in the 60's.(Grandpa farmed around one). Meeting the Air Force on the road outwest they are moving missiles on the highway is an experience.
  20. Speaking as being from that area it’s because you were always from there, don’t want to be found, and there is no school you can’t live near. (Sometimes you get white supremacists, but not in Steele City yet)
  21. On the left side of this picture is where the fight that caught a cousin a manslaughter charge that he beat took place.
  22. About 20 meth heads, and 30 elderly folks. Salty Dog has pretty good food though.
  23. Not enough population to even warrant a show. More likely a poaching or animal trapping incident. Or they let the local excitable boy out of the home again and he tried to bury another bulldozer.
  24. https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/keystone-pipeline-shut-after-oil-spill-into-kansas-creek-2022-12-08/ Being as it's leaking in the area that I'm from, I'm assuming the local hill folk/my shirttail relations did something dumb to cause the leak.
