  1. RIP Superlungs. First heard of him via the Cheap Trick cover of Speak Now. Dude was talented, as Jimmy Page (and many others) recognized.
  2. My standard exclamations when some dumbass sits ahead of me in traffic ignoring a green light are: (1) "It doesn't get any greener, jackass!; and (2) this nugget:
  3. 8/4/24: Can't wait to see the sips have to play a murderers' row of an SEC schedule! They'll be lucky to finish above .500! 8/4/25: It ain't fair! Them sips get the easiest schedules!
  4. I saw Nazereth open up for Billy Squier in the early 80's. It was a flaccid concert. Nazereth was touring in support of the 2XS album. What's that you say? You've never heard of that album? Thank you for making my point. Both Nazareth and Squier were pretty lifeless that night. One of the worst concerts I've seen. The tour I would have loved to have seen was the one in support of Hair of the Dog. In addition to the title track and the cover of Love Hurts, I love the song "Miss Misery." How Dan McCafferty didn't shred his vocal cords beyond redemption when he laid down the vocals for that track, I'll never know.
  5. Loved WKRP, & she was terrific as the antithesis of the stereotypical dumb blonde in that show. I personally thought the Bailey character was hotter, but Jennifer was right up there + sharp, too. RIP, Ms. Anderson.
  6. 1:42.27 at age 16 is just ridiculous.
  7. Just when I think aggy can't get any more aggy . . .
  8. When do we file the complaint for trademark infringement?
  9. You do shots? C'mon, wolf it!

    Flaco Gone.

Not to be morbid, but I was trying to convey that I think the rate of attrition for really significant rock/pop musicians will increase even compared to the past, unfortunately. As the "appreciation thread for old guys" thread notes, a lot of 'em are at that age now.

    Flaco Gone.

That sucks. Flaco was a giant in his musical genre. I read that Dave Edmunds had some sort of medical event and isn't doing well, either. We're going to be seeing a lot of these great musicians and artists passing away in the near future, unfortunately.
  12. That is way wrong, and you should be ashamed of yourself for misleading someone who asked a simple, reasonable question. You know as well as I do that it's Fist Fucked, not Fantastic Foursome.
  13. Fun trivia facts: She was a few months pregnant at the time of the shoot. They used shaving cream instead of whipped cream, because the latter would melt too quickly under the lights. And her name was Dolores Erickson.
  14. When my son was just a little slug, i.e., 2-3 years old, he enjoyed listening to certain songs in his old man's music collection. One of said songs was Whipped Cream. His dad enjoyed looking at the CD cover while the music played.
  15. I did not realize until today that the chief marketing officer of Shake Shack is jordanwell456.
  16. You should watch it for the awesome Jenny Agutter shower scene as well as the hilarious porn theater scene, and just hide your eyes during the horror parts.
  17. September 5 on Prime. About the Munich Massacre, but the POV is the ABC crew that covered it as it was breaking. Other than Peter Sarsgaard (who plays Roone Arledge) and Ben Chaplin, the cast is largely composed of actors I'd never heard of. Actual footage of the ABC broadcast is woven in, including the iconic Jim McKay announcement that all the hostages had been killed. I liked it. It had some missteps here and there (e.g., a bad Howard Cosell voice imitation), but it was taut and well-paced.
  18. If they're just "start[ing] the process of building a team" only 30 days before the start of the season, they're way behind. But, then again, they're aggy. They pretty much exist behind the times in all respects.
  19. I liked the concept of the Blair Witch Project. But the execution of that concept almost gave me seizures.
