  2. So he reacts several seconds after Gard "touched him unnecessarily" by trying to punch/sissy slap someone else on the Wiscy staff. Got it.
  3. SLO is basically a college town (Cal Poly SLO is there). The only restaurant there that has been recommended to me (I've never tried it) is Big Sky Cafe, which is kind of a farm-to-table cafe. Friend of mine said he had a good lunch there. Fortunately, SLO is within a reasonable drive to lots of good stuff. Swing over to the coast on Highway 1. There's Morro Bay with the Morro Rock. Worth a stop just to check it out. You want seafood? Tognazzini's in Morro Bay. Or head up the coast from Morro Bay toward Cambria. Before you hit Cambria, you'll drive by Harmony, population 19. Worth a stop just to get some ice cream from the Harmony Creamery. Stroll around the town for a while. There's a glass-blowing place and some other shops. Then back on the 1 up to Cambria. Cute little town with lots of little shops and eateries. Linn's was pretty solid for breakfast. They got a dude there who's kind of like the Soup Nazi -- on the gruff side, but he's alright if you play along with him. North of Cambria you'll hit San Simeon, which is where Hearst Castle is. As I indicated in another post, the Castle is closed, unfortunately. But right off the 1 on the ocean side of the road at the bottom of the hill from the Castle is the Hearst Ranch Winery, with tasting tables that are just adjacent to the beach and pretty solid wines. Great place to take a picnic basket, do some tastings, buy a bottle of wine from the winery, and enjoy the view. We had a great time there. Make a reservation. North of San Simeon is where you really get into prime elephant seal, etc. viewing areas. Beautiful coastline to just drive. Head as far north as you want up into Big Sur. There's a million places to stop and enjoy the view, do a hike, etc. Or head north from SLO toward Paso Robles. Wife (no pics) and I stayed at a place out in the sticks halfway between Paso and the coast, right at the intersection of Hwy 46 and Old Creek Road. The place is up on a hill looking down over a vineyard. Was very peaceful. There are a ton of wine tasting rooms in and around Paso. Check out the Tin City area which is an old renovated industrial area with tasting rooms, a brewery or two, restaurants, shops, etc. It's located just off the 101 south of Paso between Paso and Templeton. The wife and I liked Union Sacre and Jacob Toft. Turtle Rock was a little stuffy, but the wines were good. And there are a bunch of wineries/tasting rooms in Paso itself and west of the city up in the hills. Food in Paso: Try Les Petites Canailles for something upscale. Il Cortile for Italian. Both were very good. For a steak and cool experience, head east to the little town of Creston and try the Loading Chute. Breakfast: Joe's. If you go south from SLO on the 227, you get into the Edna Valley wine region. Lots of wineries in that area. I prefer the Paso area wineries, but there's some solid ones in Edna Valley as well, including Baileyana and Claiborne & Churchill. You mentioned going down to Santa Barbara at some point. Good idea. Lots to see/do/eat/drink down there. That's a thread unto itself. On the way south, you'll go through Nipomo. Jocko's Steakhouse is the spot there for dinner -- either going down or coming back. Or hit the Far Western Tavern in Orcutt for another meat coma experience. Farther south but before you hit Santa Barbara proper, you'll be going through the Santa Barbara wine country/Santa Ynez Valley. More great wineries all over the place. That area is worth its own thread, frankly. The wife and I love stopping in sleepy little Los Alamos and hitting Bell's (French cafe type place) for lunch, or Bob's Well Bread for breakfast, or Pico or Full of Life Flatbread for dinner. There's also Babi's Beer Emporium -- grab a beer and hang out on the patio. Los Alamos also has a few tasting rooms in town. Los Olivos has even more. In Los Olivos, I recommend Brewer-Clifton, Evan's Ranch, Carhartt, and Dragonette. Walk next door from Brewer-Clifton to Figueroa Mountain Brewery when you're sick of tasting wine and need a beer.
  4. Hearst Castle has been closed to tours for quite some time while they are renovating the road that leads up to the castle as well as the drainage system. It's a real bummer, because that is a fantastic place to visit. Anyone looking to go to that neck of the woods should check the website first. https://hearstcastle.org/
  5. Speaking of pets, this ain't one. https://www.fox13news.com/news/caught-on-video-bull-charges-cyclists-during-california-race?fbclid=IwAR39vMBkamUxMiM3vcdp9qX7wSJdj7Ff1yy2i1xCCzsm0i6VregOItPc_sk
  6. Ah, yes. That's a more revealing angle. I agree -- jimping would probably be tougher on a thumb than that. Good looking knife.
  7. Santa Barbara, CA Austin, TX Mammoth Lakes, CA Hermosa Beach, CA Kapa'a, Kauai, HI Others that might make the list on a different day: NOLA; Los Alamos, CA; Ouray, CO; Pasadena, CA; San Diego, CA (particularly the PB/MB area); Driggs, ID; Jackson, WY; Telluride, CO; Taos, NM; Santa Fe, NM; Whitefish, MT
  8. As I understand it, there are several items that can delay production of a particular build, and they include the tow package, Sasquatch package, hard top, and the modular front bumper. At least those were some of the "sins" as of a few months ago. But I know people who got their Broncos with some of those items in the build, so who knows? I've given up trying to figure out Ford's methodology.
  9. Yep, much easier to get the Sport. At this point, my order is nearly a year old (March of '21). I reserved in August of '20. Pretty ridiculous, and what's worse is that there are plenty of people who reserved before me that don't have their Broncos yet, either. I'm not confident that I'll get mine this calendar year.
  10. That would make too much sense.
  11. They're pulling the same shit with Broncos. Ford has definite supply line issues right now.
  12. The two Spydies I have are good knives. They're certainly not traditional looking with the thumb holes, but they're well made.
  13. Good looking knife. The grind on that looks . . . interesting, esp. near the heel. Maybe it's just the angle of the photo or the lighting. I kinda like the look of the finish, but I wonder if the serrations or filing on the spine would be hard on a thumb if you're doing detail work.
  14. 8 more TDs but more than twice the number of picks (17 to 7). Cousins' RTG was higher as well. Stafford had more yards, but he also had more pass attempts and a better O-line. Like I wrote above, I'm not saying Cousins is better than Stafford. (Although PFF did have him ranked just above Stafford this season.) My point is that a selection of Cousins to the Pro Bowl ahead of Stafford (assuming Stafford could have even played) wasn't completely out of the realm of reason. There are good arguments for both. That's the very definition of a close call. We're going to have to agree to disagree.
  15. Tony Boselli was an absolutely elite OT during almost his entire career. The only knock against him was the lack of longevity. From an on-field performance standpoint he was definitely a HOFer. Boselli was better at his position than Stafford is at his, and that's coming from someone who respects Stafford a lot.
  16. Disagree. Not saying Cousins is better. In fact, if you gave me a choice of picking one or the other in general, I'd take Stafford All I'm saying is that they both had similarly good seasons in '21. Statistically, Stafford has the edge in certain categories, Cousins has the edge in others. To suggest that Stafford played head and shoulders above Cousins this past season to the point that there is no comparison between the two . . . well, that's simply wrong.
  17. Total fucking bullshit that they're letting the Russian doper skate. Completely unfair to the rest of the skaters. And then her teammate falls on her ass and still gets awarded second place (for now). Done watching this corrupt bullshit.
  18. No. That man is way too tall to be Kyler Murray.
  19. Happy birthday, indeed. The background is . . . interesting.
  20. Nah, you noted in your earlier post that there were many others, and you're absolutely right. Can't list 'em all. I was just chiming in with a couple names in particular.
  21. Don't those generally take up more room than conventional stoves? In a 400-foot cabin, that might be an issue.
  22. Rank and File, The Skeletons . . . maybe the Wild Seeds belong on that list too. A lot of good alternative and roots music in that decade for sure.
  23. Available on Amazon for under ten bucks. https://www.amazon.com/Kershaw-1025X-Multifunction-Performance-Stonewashed/dp/B01BAJK7DE
  24. No axis lock, though . . . correct? Not Actually said he was looking for an axis-style lock. Which Civivi is that -- the Elementum? My latest knife is a Lumi, and I'm still trying to get accustomed to the flipper mechanism on that thing. Wasn't too impressed with the sharpness out of the box, either, but that got remedied quickly on the Sharpmaker. Build quality is very good, though.
