My understanding is that the father bought the handgun for the son (perpetrator), so yes it does sound like it was a straw purchase given that minimum age to purchase a handgun in Michigan is 18.
Been raining nonstop out here in Southern CA since Sunday. We've probably had 7+ inches of rain in my area since Sunday, and it isn't stopping anytime soon.
I went back through the thread earlier and I don't think Red Red Wine was posted, so that's a really good one. (Quite a few videos that were linked in the posts made years ago are no longer visible, so I'm not 100% sure about which particular songs have already been mentioned. But I'm pretty sure Red Red Wine wasn't listed.)
OK, let's try to get this thread back on track. Most of the really good examples of "the cover is better than the original" have already been posted above. But I'm sure there are still some good ones out there.
This first one -- I don't think it's better than the original, but it's pretty good. And it led me to the original (by Pulp), so I have a soft spot for it.
While checking out the online tributes to Brother Wayne, I ran across this video of the early 2000s version of MC5 doing "Kick Out The Jams" on Craig Kilborn's old late night talk show. Blast from the past. Mark Arm, Evan Dando, and Marshall Crenshaw doing the vocals. Dennis Thompson the drummer is now the last original member still living I believe. I wonder if Wayne's shirt was a nod to his stretch in prison.
I'm thinking hawk had probably caught the snek and was attempting to fly with it in its talons. Snek breaks free and drops on unsuspecting woman. Snek is pissed, so strikes at woman. Hawk then goes to retrieve its prey.
That's a pretty small airport, so options are going to be limited, though it does appear that there's a daily AA flight from Dallas that goes there. Still, I think the San Jose airport is going to have more (and probably cheaper) flight options, and it's an easy 90 minute drive from that airport to Carmel down the 101 and the 1.
