I had to chuckle when I saw KOTFM got nominated for best editing. Scorsese is a legend, but he and Thelma Schoonmaker have fallen off badly in that department, IMO. I liked KOTFM in general, but thought it was bloated with unnecessarily drawn-out scenes as well as scenes that didn't advance the plot much. The Irishman had the same problem -- even worse, actually. I guess I'm in the minority with this opinion.

Screw all four remaining teams. I'll be rooting for entertaining games and two meteor strikes.

Season 2 was completely implausible with some terrible acting to boot, but the worst part is that Serinda Swan never got nekkid.
All that said, I'm in for season 3.

Be sure to see Akaka Falls north of town and the falls right in town to just up hill to the west from downtown. The botanical garden north of town is great too. Banyan Drive is worth a visit. Also head down to Puna to see the recent lava flows and new beaches. And of course the National Park.
If I was to add Waipi'o Valley to your list and drop the National Park (we're going to devote a full day just to seeing the Park), would it all be do-able in one day? (We'd be based out of Hilo in this particular instance.)

Kind of an understandable accident. That said, the fan after absolutely trucking Clark, spins to see her on the floor and just continues on to the celebration center court. Perhaps take a moment to ensure the other person is ok and apologize? Really bad look based on the video.
Pretty much agree with everything you wrote. Things happen. Fan should have checked on Clark to see if she was okay. I think the fan probably would/could have avoided the collision had she not been filming, though.

Osu fan absolutely destroys Clark when the court was rushed
The idiot fan was videoing while she was running onto the court.

I wouldn't think 4WD is needed unless you are really gonna get off of the beaten path. Saddle Road from the Hilo side across to the Kona side (State Route 200) has been much upgraded. Some rental agencies wouldn't let you drive on that road in the past.
We also drove a regular rental car up to the top Mauna Kea -- gravel road, but in good shape. Have fun!
Thanks. In looking at some websites (including the one GenXer linked), it appears now that only 4WD vehicles are allowed on the portion of the road above the visitors center. If true, that might be enough to get me to spring the extra $$ for a Jeep.

Guidebook (Big Island Revealed) strongly recommends renting a 4WD on the Big Island. We haven't yet nailed down the exact attractions we want to visit (aside from Volcanoes NP and a helicopter tour), so I'm not sure at this point whether 4WD is really necessary. Was wondering whether those who have visited the Big Island found 4WD to be necessary and/or helpful.

What if you could live somewhere else from June to September?
Vegas from about Oct. 15 to May 15, and then somewhere at elevation (e.g., Mt. Charleston area) during the hot months would be a pretty nice situation, IMO.

Well, yeah, it's the Clippers. Did you really expect something different?

This team is soft.

I have not assigned an order to this list. It was fucking hard enough paring it down to only 10 players:
Jordan
Lebron
Wilt
Kareem
Bird
Duncan
Magic
Kobe
Oscar
Dream
It was difficult to leave Russell, West, and some others off.

Mahomes has taken a couple hits this season on the sideline, and most of it's the result of his tightroping the sideline in the past. No flags.
He drew a flag against Green Bay earlier this year when he was still in-bounds.

From the article
Jo-El Sonnier was an American original, a country legend, a Cajun hero, and one of the last real deal performers in music.

Let's enjoy, shall we.
Went out doing what he loved. If you gotta go (and we all do at some point), that's the way to do it. RIP to Mr. Sonnier. As you said, Hulla, he was the real deal.

Which models are we looking at there?
I've been on a bit of a SAK kick lately. In addition to the alox Bantam upthread a bit, I picked up a Compact last week. I had resisted buying one for quite a while because of the price -- you can get much better bang for the buck with other models, IMO. But the tool set in the Compact has always intrigued me, and I finally bought one recently with a gift card.

There are other places that have identical beignets to Cafe Du Monde. I would never wait in that line. Cafe Beignet has a couple of locations and you won't be able to tell the difference.
I-dentical! Yep, Cafe Beignet is pretty close in my experience, which was a while back. But if the lines are short enough, Du Monde is still a fun experience for first-timers.

Jonah BromwichReporting from inside the courtroomEngoron says that he knows everyone is anxious to get a decision. He says he will do his best to issue a final decision in the case by Jan. 31. He says it’s not a promise or a guarantee, but he’s reasonably confident he’ll be able to meet that deadline.
That's because a good chunk of the decision is already written or at least outlined in considerable detail.

Cannot stop laughing at this photo. Left to right: smarmy smirking attorney; an enraged Trump; Melania look-alike who Trump has undoubtedly banged/attempted to bang.
Trump's glowering is the best part

He was pretty believable as an Aryan Brotherhood leader in Shot Caller as well.
