  1. I think he played great. He got extremely unlucky landing in a huge divot and his slight mishit off the tee box resulted in an extremely unlucky bunker lie. -27 and in 3rd… while making some solid putts and being in contention through 18 seems like a pretty good start of the season.
  2. Day 3 of the offseason and this thread has jumped the shark... impressive.
  3. Umm, we scored 31 points without having the ball in the 3rd quarter. The biggest hinderance to our offense was our own players fumbling (twice) and committing a ton of preventable penalties, which were drive killers.
  4. It also not like the ball was uncatchable. That is a 100% a catch if the DB doesn’t scale AD with an arm around his neck and bat the ball down. Could the throw have been better? Yes. Could AD have used his height and frame better? Yes.
  5. This one I don’t agree with. The field is even more compressed and trafficked at the 6. Maybe there could be an argument made in normal game situations where you could theoretically have the threat of running the ball…. But in a must pass situation I would take more “space” (within reason of course) every time. I do think we should have stressed the middle/wide side a play or to - use QE’s arm strength and force them to defend the entire field.
  6. You also are not allowed to face guard in the NFL and you are in college. It’s a different game, with different rules and different technique's. Physicality at the line depends on scheme and individual physical ability (strength / recover speed). We were playing 3 NFL receivers with an NFL QB who was extremely hot - I mean some of the passes Penix was dropping in were incredible. There was not much more we could do there. Penix’s mobility in the pocket was fantastic and if a couple of our pressures landed or if MM didn’t cut hit fingernails things might have gone a different way.
  7. And nobody coaches it…. Unless you are in a controlling position, ie on top of the receiver, or at the very least, truly even is the only time you look and not a moment before. You can not run fast with your head turned backwards. There are more issues with our guys getting confused by shift/alignment and not getting lined up than “man coverage” technique. Its a tiresome trope at this point.
  8. Technically yes, in reality they won't offset all the way over to the middle but will offset a bit and move an extra blocker over.
  9. Released from NLI never made it to Michigan. https://www.mlive.com/wolverines/2021/04/wr-xavier-worthy-requests-nli-release-from-michigan-reopens-recruitment.html
  10. Agreed, Bobby already doesn't have to work another day in his life. He is doing it bc he genuinely loves the Horns and reporting on them. Anyone following recruiting knows Gerry has been a hard working SOB for years, but it was nice getting to hear his personality/humor coming through on YouTube. Echoing what's already been said, hopefully, GH moving to regional coverage let's him back on OTF. I probably won't listen to OTF in the off-season unless it's for certain guests, but I was enjoying the daily coffee and football in season.
  11. And by family they mean the whole fam damily! From the looks of other males in the family he could easily grow to LB size? Don't care as long as he maintains his quickness. Oldest brother played RB at Arky and in the NFL. Middle brother played DB at Mizzou.
  12. Handing the show over to their 2022 5 star Arnold.
  13. Bobby is an investor/owner in On3 but he seems more locked into the YouTube/podcast nowadays. For the last few weeks he had been talking about all the things/guests they want to bring into On Texas Football channel. Shit Gerry just had Royal Ivey and PJ Tucker on for a basketball breakdown. Edit: Wonder if Gerry got a good national gig and Bobby said fuck it, I ain't doing this with Ian Boyd and friends.
  14. I mean he’s not wrong. We are going to run our offense and they aren’t going to be able to do a good damn thing to stop it.
  15. It literally doesn’t matter that Ohio St is in front of us. They won’t be next week (assuming we win) we get another positive data point and they are sitting at home with their bucknuts up their butts.
  16. and it hasn't been good since 2019... Also he didn't pass compliance check per CTJ in the last reshuffle. So the point is moooooo....
  17. Followed by Mark Sanchez right. Wasn’t he a 1st round pick too?
  18. Your Dummy-Os can’t even run a simple draw play and you got secret formations?

Nobody is playing games. My mistake on Hayden. The fact is people don’t want to look at things critically or with nuance. Yes, like it or not. Rs. Soph QB is young, especially one who has had as unique a path as QE… and he is a very good player for us. Which is kinda of my point. Brooks is in is his first year starting and is also a Rs. Soph. That is young. The point is, when most of your best talent is young both in actual age and in experience mistakes will happen. The “dominant” teams, historically, are when the majority of the best players are older players and when those teams have depth of talent, which we do not. I’m not sure why this is a difficult concept to grasp.

Offense: LT - Soph LG - Soph RG - Soph QB - Rs. Soph…. Unique too with limited amount of experience (graduated early, wasted/lost year at OSU) RB - Soph/Fr. We have more upper class men on defense but we are thin. Safety has upper class men but is weak spot with depth. LB is Ford…. And freshman Hill… everyone else is a jag/scrub CB/NB is solid, DT/DL is solid.
  22. It’s going to be tough. Ewers is hurt, Baxter isn’t 100%, Barron is hurt…. ISU is going to run a 3-high flyover look and we are going to have to run the ball to get them into looks that favor us. Brooks out is a big loss. That said the OL will need to step up, they need to play their best game of the year. This ISU team can be run on. If we can get Catalon back that would be huge. Assuming Barron can play I’m hopeful the defense is able to do away with the busts that seem to be focused around the safety spot. Would be nice to have a big special teams play/TD this game to help out. Injuries or not this is a very winnable game. Cold weather, night game, with everything on the line…. If that doesn’t get you jacked up, play a different sport.
  23. You have to make sure that ball is complete or you get the penalty. You aren’t aiming for the most perfect, in stride, td throw with the smallest margin of error. You are putting air under the ball on the outside, where AD did a great job leaving room, and letting you bad ass go up an get it or draw the penalty and win the game. You make sure your guy has a chance, not try to be “perfect.”
