  1. Here is the headline on the website's version of the article. Dulled the edges a lot imo
  2. There is a gulf of degree between "Mass Deportations Now" and "You are never too small to make a big difference"
  3. Why the hell wouldn't it be?
  4. I really applaud how well you've changed your posting style for the most part, but every now and then the ol' wacky tobacc-y slips through lol
  5. At this point that says something about her.
  6. This is a safe space, friend. ❤️
  7. AEW is downright woke compared to WWE. Their current champion, iirc, is a huge proponent of unions and workers rights and isn't afraid to talk about it. Their queer wrestlers are openly queer (seriously, their women's division is dyke heaven full of dykes) and they do pride stuff every year (dunno about this year tbh--I don't pay super close attention because they do too many flips to keep my interest for long most of the time).
  8. I watched the UT/OSU game on mute while playing Balatro and it was the best viewing experience I've had in years.
  9. Agreed. He's like fine
  10. Blasphemous
  11. Not if their stats have anything to say about it
  12. I mean, not dead from like entropy but that fucker could have a stoke at any moment.
  13. There is no way to fight that. It's like when my father responding to me with "Joe Biden is a rapist" when I pointed out what Trump is.
  14. That seems low
  15. And it only took almost three years to get there!
  16. Fair enough. I appreciate you sharing. The majority of my contact with the homeless is with people who are very new to it and in Austin, and I was being very serious about the difference in response I would get using the respective word. Perhaps there is a contextual difference there. Regardless, thanks.
  17. I don't disagree with either of you about the term, but it takes very little effort to switch terms. I definitely still use homeless at times without thinking, but I try to say unhoused because I've had to ask plenty of people to their faces whether or not they have a roof over their heads, and I get a lot fewer hurt and wounded looks with unhoused than I do homeless. Like I said, it offers more dignity to those affected, and with our heartless and cruel society, it is down to us as individuals to help those people maintain their dignity. Switching a word as often as I can is a pretty effortless way to help
  18. Unhoused provides a little more dignity and little less stigma than homeless.
  19. I have listened to the audiobook and really enjoyed it, yes. Just let it flow over you. But not everything is for everyone and that's fine.
  20. Try the audiobook, Donkey.
  21. Shit like this is why people think you are AnimalTobacco lmao
  22. And I've seen people argue for cutting programs they themselves are on because the programs also help the wrong kinds of people. So what?
  23. They favor free healthcare for them and people like them. Not universal healthcare. And they'd rather have the shitty system we have now than people not like them also get free healthcare
  24. Wish I could go back and see it for the first time again. A masterwork of direction imo
