  1. I seem to remember they did a REALLY good carbonara. Not the garbage most places try to pass as carbonara which is spaghetti sitting in a bowl of cream sauce. But the type where the sauce barely coats the noodles and you hardly notice it's there.
  2. Not from my childhood, but when I was first out of college I lived off 2222 close to Mopac. Just south of Northland on either Balcones Dr. or Parkcrest was a really good Italian place. Nothing fancy. Just a neighborhood place without a lot of fuss that reminded me of the place where Michael Corleone shot Sollozzo and McClusky. they did the basics really well. For the life of me I can't remember the name of it. This would have been late 90s-early 2000s. Anyone know what I'm talking about.
  3. Ethan, do I have a mark on my face? No, I thought I hit you in the shoulder.
  4. Felt pretty good about this. Fun game. Thanks for sharing Wordle 201 4/6 ⬜🟨⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜⬜🟨⬜ ⬜⬜🟨🟨⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  5. "Live, local, direct, coming to you free of charge from..." At one point he was a master story teller. I used to think he made stuff up because it seemed unreal that any one person could have so much random shit happen to them. But then I realized his stories weren't THAT crazy...he was just really good and telling them and pulling out the humor.
  6. Dale was an institution, but I found him really difficult to listen to over the past few years. He always had a habit of beating a dead horse or whining, but it became unbearable. Days without him were a breath of fresh air. He always liked to say he didn't care if he got fired and would act like he may not sign a new contract. Maybe it's best that decision was made for him. I do worry about his mental health. The show was a form of therapy for him. Taking that away cold turkey can't be good.
  7. They had 39 scholarship players for the game. This isn't an issue of not being as "deep" as previous years. This. Pretty amazing they kept it as close as it was.
  8. RCA Commercial Electronics. From what I can tell mainly commercial TVs and LED Lighting. And probably more importantly a 70k sq ft manufacturing facility. Can find any recent revenue numbers, but ones from a few years ago were pretty healthy due to a large UPS lighting contract. Saw reference to that one contract being worth $50M. I'm not sure how this fits the rest of their portfolio, other than simply adding revenue and hopefully profit.
  9. Eyeing the day game against Rice on Dec. 22 as one to take my family to. Me, wife, 3 boys aged 10 and under. Sure, I could go through the UT Ticket office and pay a nice $20 service charge, but my assumption is this won't be a well attended game and there will be tickets available outside the arena before the game. I'll be looking for Mezzanine seats. Think there's any risk of not finding 5 tickets for face value or less before the game, or should I just suck it up and go through the ticket office?
  10. I have a bunch of family in SC, and they LOVE Beamer. They will be devastated whenever he leaves. My uncle swears they found their own Dabo, and I always remind him that if that's the case, he won't be around long enough for it to happen at USC.
  11. ALPP with some good news, and stock is responding https://finance.yahoo.com/news/alpine-4-holdings-alpp-subsidiary-154500435.html https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/alpine-4-holdings-alpp-subsidiary-vayu-aerospace-corporation-advances-to-phase-3-of-our-us-air-force-sbir-allowing-for-sole-source-procurement-301426978.html
  12. I would definitely like to subscribe to his newsletter. Blow up the effing roster. This isn't a 1-2 year fix. I have no idea if Sark is the long term solution, but I KNOW this roster isn't the short or medium term solution no matter who is coach.
  13. Meat substitutes not needed. That stuff is garbage anyway. Fajitas are easy enough to satisfy everyone, if you have all the fixin's like onions, peppers, guac. Maybe add a portabello mushroom to the grill. Indian food was a good idea. Veggie curry, dal, etc. Pot of beans or black-eyed peas with some onions, garlic, bell peppers, etc. Put on top of brown rice, quinoa, etc. Cornbread on the side. Us hte leftover rice to make some fried rice later. Anything with eggs. Hell, we love breakfast for dinner--pancakes, waffles, etc. Big, hearty salads are simple enough to make, and you can add chicken, fish, etc to yours. Put a bunch of nuts on his. Or maybe sear some haloumi cheese or something.
  14. Now you've done it. Nosedive commence.
  15. Because you touch yourself at night
  16. There are no stupid questions. Just stupid people that ask questions.
  17. Why would the CoA even get involved? Isn't lawn care a HOA thing? I guess HOA has ability to hire someone to remedy the situation if not taken care o fin a timely fashion?
  18. Been looking forward to this grand opening for a freaking month, and had to take my youngest to the Dr this morning for Strep, Flu, and Covid tests.
