    USMNT 2023

True, but Greg threw Gio under the bus at a speaking engagement and tried to claim he thought it was "off the record." I find it a little funny Mrs. Reyna said she thought her conversation was a private one. Revenge is a dish best served cold...by a helicopter parent.
  2. Btw, my cousin's son was a walk-on at Aggy somewhat recently and still has a bunch of friends around the program. Saw him at Christmas with the extended family today, and he wasn't exactly bullish about the future. "Total shitshow" was the phrase uttered at least 3 times. Talked about the pot smoking in Bright Complex by Denver Harris and the other guys. Talked about how when it was drug testing days they knew well in advance and a guy would hand them their cup and then leave. People commonly brought in urine to use. He said the guys that were with Jimbo at FSU said the culture was actually worse at FSU. He had been working for a company involved in NIL and said a big package was ready for Demas, literally ready to be signed, and then he beat up his girlfriend. And the University hearing about the incident was every bit as bad as the articles. He has since gotten into coaching at his old high school, and he has interest in being a GA at the college level, specifically at Aggy. "But I'm ot anywhere near than shitshow."
  3. They have no good solution other than blowing the whole thing up, but they won't do that. They spent so much money on the 2022 class that they can't let them walk. Plus, from a talent perspective that's their best chance of fielding a team that is halfway competitive. The bad news they are a bunch of mercenaries that will require a LOT of funding every year, at least the ones worth a shit. But due to shittastic roster management, they have a LOT of scholarships to fill, and need to do so via the portal. Oops, no money for that, with the exception of the guys nobody wants. Because teams with proper raster management will take a rifle approach and put resources behind a few key players rather than the shotgun approach Jimbo has fucked them with. Well, about that money...there probably is money to fill a foster, but the guys with the money are withholding it due to "creative differences" with the offense and need Jimbo to change what he's doing on that side of the ball. That's a great plan when the coach you are trying to strong-arm has 100% of the leverage due to a joke of a contract that an 8 year old would laugh at. Classic cutting off your nose to spite your face. So Mr. "A dig is a dig" is going to hire an OC-in-name-only to run the same tired offense and for once I completely agree with Aggies everywhere...I can't fucking wait until next year.
  4. I don't enjoy watching bad football on TV. And there's plenty of stuff to do when it's 20 degrees outside. There were less than 40 points to scored by teams with a combined 13-11 record entering the game. There was nothing fun about that game unless you had money on it. Participation trophies for all! Mediocre directional schools playing small private or commuter schools in what amounts to cripple fights isn't much of a build up. But point made...to each there own. The more I think about it, the more I think these games exist for the gambling community.

    Shit My Kid Says

We've had a bunch of treats delivered by neighbors, co-workers, etc. We offer the kids some Godiva chocolate truffles after lunch, but we tell the 6 year old he has to finish his meal first. He's the slowest eater ever, so like 20 min later he pushes the plate forward and says "now can I have some of that vagina chocolate?"

    Shit My Kid Says

No son. Jesus wasn't born in Austin. He only played football here from 2003-2005.
  7. They sure as hell didn't come down for the game this week. I don't have LHN so couldn't see how many butts were in seats.
  8. My memories of the Independence Bowl is a fairly well attended bowl featuring a couple of 8-4 or 7-5 type teams. Weather can be iffy, but the game is usually entertaining. W.T.F. These teams are shit. There's a team from Lousiana and Houston, which isn't that far away, and there may be 5,000 people there. The teams are 6-6 and 7-5, and only because they play in dogs shit conferences. Just terrible football. We really need to cut the number of bowl games in half.
  9. Because if there is one thing that goes through my mind watching a Mike Leach (RIP) offense vs. Jimbo, it's "yep, those are the same."
  10. We've made other plans. I'm not going down there just to be turned around because I need to pay $60 per ticket for a shitty weeknight game over the holidays. If you end up going, please report back what the scalping situation looks like.
  11. Interested, but i need to find another 3 together. My family of 5 is trying to go, and we can split up 2/3 if needed.
  12. What are the odds I could find 3 seats together for a reasonable price down at the arena before the game? I have a family of 5, and we could split up 2 and 3 if needed. Someone is selling a pair in the For Sale forum, so if I bought those I still need 3 together. Cheapest I could find on StubHub is $82 per ticket for 3 together. That's a little steep for a mid week game against a directional Lousiana school.
  13. This is really surreal. They were on Cloud 9 with unfounded hopes of a playoff birth and all the hype around their recruiting class just a few short months ago. Fast forward to today, and every day I wake up and it's like Nope. It's real.
  14. And what he really means is "time to just raise other people's money"
  15. This made me LOL. I think it's because 95% of Surly would have made a similar observation
  16. Chester always had time to sit with customers and tell a dirty joke or three. I spent more nights there than I'd like to admit between 1997-2001. One of my best friends was a waitress there and, by extension, I was friends with every waitress. I think every girl in that group of friends waited tables on occasion because it was a good, but hard earned, $100-$120 per night in tips. And free fried mushrooms for me. I lived with my cousin at the time, and one time we were there, and the Back Page Austin Chronicle hooker he ordered the night before was there with a guy. We both recognized her immediately and she shot us the "don't say a fucking word" look immediately. Always wondered if she had a boyfriend or husband and the guy had no idea. Took my dad there one time he came into town shortly after I turned 21. We walked in, and all the waitresses rushed to give me a hug and brought us a bucket of Miller Lite without me asking, which was my standard at the time. Dad: "How are your grades this semester?" Me: "Well, I'm learning a lot." Dad: "I can imagine."
  17. If you've never had boquerones, don't think of them as anchovies as you probably know. They aren't heavily salted and don't have an extreme fish taste. It's a completely different experience.
  18. Where did you get the boquerones? I fucking love those with just some olive oil and a touch of salt.
  19. Always cracked me up they snuck the Donger in there as a tourist.
  20. So did you get some digits?
  21. $100 AUD or USD? Also, the cheap birds in the US are garbage. Bread to get as fat as possible, as quickly as possible, with as much white meat as possible. Thus they are tasteless. And injected with a solution and then frozen. If that's what you're paying $100, AUD or USD, I'd switch to something else. Kangaroo burgers anyone?
  22. Rarely do you get a chance to look into to a crystal ball, but here we are. Wiler77 in year 2042. That must be my littlest's wedding. It'll be "Whole Lotta Rosie" for the middle boy.
