  1. I totally agree, and I was pretty surprised how ineffective the SEALs seemed. This is definitely not a recruiting video.
  2. I saw this today and it's almost hard to describe it as a movie. There is no character development, no music, no exposition, and very little plot. They use about a dozen different acronyms without explaining one of them. There is virtually no explanation of what the soldiers are trying to accomplish. There are tons of tiny details that are clearly a specific recollection from one of the people that was there. The co-director, Mendoza, was on this operation (he was the guy that dragged away one of the men injured in the IED attack), so I think this is about as authentic of a portrayal as we are ever likely to get. There is more screaming and more close up shots of wounded men in agony than I've ever seen before. I can't say it was a fun experience, but it's absolutely worth seeing in a theater if you have any interest in this sort of thing. The sound design is fantastic - when the SEAL machine gunner opens up for the first time I felt like he was in the theater with me. I don't think this movie is going to make any money, so thanks to A24 for making it happen.
  3. We're gonna call this the Trump Depression, right? The man seems to want to be remembered.
  4. A friend called him Mr. Pink once and now I can't ever remember his real name.
  5. Don't worry, it's totally ok for people that manage their emotions well.
  6. I thought that was a cocaine joke?
  7. But I thought we aren't punting at all next year?
  8. Here's the key part of the video, if you don't watch until the end:
  9. That middle shot looks expensive
  10. The interesting thing here is that there are going to be a non-insignificant number of people thinking, "this guy was an idiot and he almost got away with it.. hm...."
  11. He didn't ditch the gun? You can throw out any idea that he's a professional.
  12. Time for a classic:
  13. This is too stupid to be real. Off to the ignore list.
  14. So you would be fine continuing the investigations into Trump's various adventures?
  15. You know, just like they locked up Hillary after all her crimes.
  16. This is incredible. Let's do tariffs next. I'd love someone on Trump's side to break them down just like the Ukraine discussion.
  17. I'm sure this is a tiny county, but inject this into my fucking veins, via https://www.washingtonpost.com/elections/interactive/2024/11/05/compare-2020-2024-presidential-results/
  18. I filled out my ballot last night and let my 11yo daughter bubble in the big one. I'm still nervous as hell but I think it's going to be a good memory for her when it's all over.
  19. All 6 of them voted for Haley in the primary. No votes for democrats. If it breaks that way tomorrow, all is good: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dixville_Notch,_New_Hampshire
  20. Oh for sure, I just want to have them all in one place.
  21. I'm going to need a list of all these assholes I can spite for the rest of my life.
  22. It's going to be a landslide. I've got other bets to hedge this, but lfg:
  23. Yep, the article gives specific examples of how Trumpism embodies every single point.
