  1. Sucks about the Dufour, what an amazing piece that would have been. Coyon makes incredible watches though, so not a terrible consolation prize. Other than the value of the watch compared to the Dufour. [emoji51]
  2. Javelin by Sufjan Stevens should be on any list. I didn't actually listen to it until 2024, but GD it's fucking good.
  3. I really like my Formex Field. Super lightweight and comfortable. Also coated so it doesn't scratch easily. I have the petrol blue which is one of my favorite blue colors. I prefer the leather strap with adjustable deployant strap. It adds a couple hundred to the watch though. I've hung out with the Formex guys a couple times and I like that they truly innovate. Farer is great although I sold my Cobb a while back. I was pretty impressed with the Houtmann when I borrowed a buddies but it wasn't the aviator which looks great. Sinn/GO are always fantastic.
  4. Can't believe I forgot my favorite purple watch. The Havender from Arcanaut. Actually a lavender, but these are great watches. One of the guys, James (@blackbadger) has worked with super high end shit like Hautlence and MB&F. He's a man scientist and came up with the material for the Havender from Blue mussels. I have an ARC II Fordite which is made from industrial paint waste from old Ford factories.
  5. I hunt, kill and hunt some more. Re: purple, definitely one I don't have. A few that I've come across lately that I like. Sub 1k Moels 369 https://moelsandco.com/moels-369 About 2k Cedric Bellon CB01 https://watchangels.ch/en/shop/ The purple appears to be sold out. I'm waiting on the orange. A little higher up the $ scale is the Keiser Design https://en.kieserdesign.de/uhren You can configure a lot of different elements. Hoping to add one this year at some point. Re: Rolex, I'm with you 100%. They just don't do much for me, maybe because I see them EVERYWHERE. I don't want to have a watch that everyone else has. They are good watches but in reality there are much better and more interesting watches at those price points. They are just completely uninteresting to me and it seems most people who have them have them for the wrong reason. But I'm also coming from the viewpoint of someone who loves watches and horology. I can't do mass produced watches any more. I appreciate being able to meet the designer or the watchmaker and understanding their inspiration and appreciating the uniqueness of their watches Hoping to pick this up next... Nicholas Hacko. 1st edition. I think there are only 9. Amazing case and feathering brushwork on the hands. I've seen some reels and it really catches the light in incredible ways.
  6. I wish my watches fit in one or two boxes. I own that Orion and you have one of the original Direnzo's which is awesome. Nice mix. Love the UN. I've never been big on a Rolex but that's a nice one. Cool Omega as well. My collection consists nearly entirely of independent brands and microbrands. Kudoke, Moser, Czapek, Holthinrichs... And a lot of nearly unknown brands. As if those big ones are "well known". [emoji23] One vintage Rolex and a ladies datejust I bought for my wife. I also have a couple GOs, a 60s and a 70s. F Tapa, but I'll try to load some photos of the affordable ones soon. Here's my Straum... Which is a great microbrand although the new models are closer to $2k. This was $800 before the bracelet.
  7. I was kinda hoping someone would run the math on it... Maybe Kyle Umlang.
  8. Are we getting to a point where the players who have switched/transferred to LSU are a higher rated class than their incoming class?
  9. Is anyone else seeing this bread ad popup on Twitter on the new ag DL commit?
  10. I'll look into that. May be another good option for an extra day of skiing. Thanks
  11. Thanks. The tour to Old Faithful is what we're signed up for. And Snow King may be exactly what I'm looking for - Hate to only ski 2 days so I'll see about adding a day and hitting up SK.
  12. Any Jackson Hole recommendations? Heading up after Christmas. I have lift passes for a couple days but everything else was sold out. Doing a snowmobile tour of Yellowstone. Wouldn't mind adding one more day of skiing, but not sure that's possible unless there is a secondary market for lift passes. I'm an average skier and prefer blue runs. Knees can't take blacks. Any good areas of the mountain to check out? Restaurants? Other places to visit? My kids are teenagers and have only skied a handful of times (one is snowboarding for the second time) and wife doesn't ski. So they will probably be on greens and easy blues.
  13. That's glorious. Must be the NIL. Nothing else makes any sense. Only one Ag even dared to mention Texas on a playoff run might have something to do with it. And not one of them can put together the millions being paid to Jimbo MIGHT have an impact on NIL spending. Not even a mention of it. Only a few put together they don't have a full staff. That's Gold Jerry!
  14. Knew I was forgetting one. Archimede Both of these make quality pilots style watches. And this is a good one too.
  15. I'm generally of the belief that Looch is in on the conspiracy. He generates much of the hype that leads to the unrealistic expectations. He feeds the inability to think critically by pumping up an overly optimistic message that is then repeated until it becomes truth so no actual assessment has to be done. No critical thought required. No self assessment. Ags are easily brainwashed... It starts with fish camp and you can see it on the political forum where they are susceptible to repeated taking points. They are susceptible to group think when an inspiring leader repeats the message over and over again. They don't deal in facts, they wallow in fiction. This leads to inflated self worth, inability to actually assess and address issues, and reliance on conspiracies to explain their failure to meet expectations. I think the school is in large part to blame for cultivating this this culture, but Looch as the "Sip" mastermind has taken it full throttle to generate a ton of income for himself and continue propogate this victim complex. It would make a fascinating book.
  16. Just a reminder this dumb MFer wanted Georgia to win so there wouldn't be a discussion about Georgia and Alabama both getting in. We're in BECAUSE Alabama won and we didn't have to depend on the committee to make a choice between us and FSU. We wouldn't have had the SEC bias factor in that discussion and very well could have been left out in favor of FSU. Never concede a spot that gives you a chance no matter how small. Math. A good reminder to not argue with idoits. Thanks to @Huckleberry @jimmyjazz @Red Five @Dahobbs and others for specially calling out the stupid posters on this site.
  17. These threads are a great for identifying reactionary pussies and stupid people. Thanks for the bump!
  18. Where are all the fucking idiots who were rooting for Georgia over Alabama? Literally our biggest advantage here is that Alabama win over Georgia anand our head to head won over Alabama. A whole lot better than our only hope being to see is Louisville gets their head out of their ass. We still aren't a sure thing unless Louisville wins, but damn that extra spot being open sure looks fucking good for Texas right now. And every talking head is talking about it, including these announcers over and over again.
  19. 0 Washington in, 0% chance we get that spot. Oregon in, >0% chance. You can't argue that, so instead you argue a point that nobody made. I realize there's a lot of moving parts and that's confusing for you. But that doesn't mean just conceding potential spots is the best option. At the end of the day the best chance is FSU losing.
  20. Are you dense or disingenuous? Try addressing what I actually wrote.
  21. Meh, I typically agree but I think they had time on this play. But it seems like it may have helped us out in the end.
  22. Nobody is arguing that. Everyone agrees that the committee was 99% going to select the Pac10. But it's not an absolute. Very likely, yes. But not a 100% guarantee. And that's what's so frustrating arguing with idiots. You are stating with 100% certainly that you know what the committee was going to do and while they likely would have done that, there was a chance. However small. 1 in 100 is still better than 0. There would have been a discussion and you would have heard all about it from talking heads if we win our game...Should it be Texas or Oregon? And the committee would have heard that as well. Count the number of times you hear Texas should get in over Washington. It will be 0. And that's because there is no argument. I'm out. It's a moo point and some people just don't understand math.
