  1. Tried these today: Tasted like...potato chips. Did have 2 people ask where the vanilla milkshake chips were while I was pondering these. Also, what happened to the key lime pies? (The actual key lime pies, not key lime potato chips or Swoon.) Couldn't find it in 3 different HEB's the last couple of weeks.
  2. Jerry Jones, Bob McNair, and Fitlump will never allow that.
  3. So the real reason conferences keep their Vanderbilts, Baylors, and Northwesterns is because they don't want to cut off their private parts.
  4. So Ross Dellinger/SI says he can't get any confirmation of Pac schools returning B12 expansion interest, but Joel Klatt said he thinks CU ends up in the B12. Tim Brando (I know, I know) says most of the knee jerk media is getting this wrong and that while schools may/probably break away from the NCAA when a new playoff contract is agreed to, it will probably be more than just the B1G and SEC (probably 60ish schools, so most of the ACC/B12/Pac school shouldn't panic now). On this I think Brando is correct on all counts. Too many schools left out if B1G-SEC separates with 40 to 44 schools, Congressional meddling attempts likely. Allowing 1 to 3 former P5 discount conferences to tag along gives them political cover, cannon fodder for non-conf, and $$$/NIL/new rules effectively will give the 2 giants enough advantage. A conspiracy theorist might wonder if a Pac-ACC partnership (not merger) could be used by ESPN to raid the best of the B12. If ESPN gets the new Pac contract, that may be enough inventory for them that they low ball any new B12 contract. CBS to the B12's rescue? Maybe not, they've been ok so far having mid-majors be the core of their sports channel. Rolling the Pac channels into a single ACCPACNet should give Pac schools a $ boost, since that would finally get Pac coverage on many sat and cable outlets (not as import as in years past but still relevant). Should get the ACCNet higher fees now in west coast markets, and in Texas if some B12 schools get nabbed. The threshold for adding B12 schools to the Pac (or ACC, or Pac schools to the B12) is multiples lower than that needed to justify B1G or SEC expansion. If I'm the B12, I'm nervous as hell. Based on past history all the P5 survive this round (if ND and ACC schools don't move to B1G/SEC) but it's more likely that ESPN (or maybe Fox) favors the Pac over the B12. Pac with a shared ACCPacNet and a Pac-ACC title game likely goes to at least 12, probably 14. I'd guess OK St (brand and some DFW), TCU (still a brand and TX/DFW claims for ESPN), UH (TX/Hou claim, academic research is stronger than many realize), and maybe another TX school or Kansas (basketball but more academic, Stanford and Cal still heavily influencing decisions). Or ESPN could push a Pac desperate to survive to hold their nose and go with a BYU (better tv draw vs the rest of the B12 options) instead. Of course TCU and UH don't carry their local markets, but with the power of ESPN the smaller incremental factors of their addition may be enough to make it justifiable. Again, we aren't talking about B1G/SEC thresholds, but rather the Pac-ACC common law marriage (full merger could give ACC top schools an escape from GOR) as ESPN's discount/filler conference. Effectively killing or wounding the B12 as a future competitor increases the value of their current ACC investment and possible Pac add. The worst case scenario for the B12 is if the ACC adds 2 and the Pac 6, to match the B1G and SEC at 16. Cincy has the academics and the current playoff potential for the ACC, and ESPN might push them for WV (not a big cable market, but still a secondary brand. WV diaspora along the east coast and southeast does matter some). In that scenario the Pac holds their nose and goes for survival by taking lower caste schools for $, perhaps even getting talked into Baylor (on field success in fb and bouncyball may be attractive to ESPN, as compared to some of the other B12 leftovers). OK St, 3 or 4 TX schools, and 1 or 2 BYU/KS/IA St? P16-ACC16 kills off the B12, 2026 playoff and NCAA breakaway maxes out at 65 schools. Pac14 is probably the most likely of those 2 options, or the B12 might instead succeed in peeling off P12 schools, but the B12 is more at risk right now than some realize.
  5. We might not win another game this season.

  7. Someone needs to translate a Johnny Vander Meer biography ASAP.
  8. I'm sure those junkies won't blow this new paycheck....
  9. I'd make him a closer. Make him close the door on the way out for the last time. And then I'd change the locks.
  10. Colo and ASU with similar, "We are committed to the P-12" statements today.
  11. So Ukraine is writing off retaking Crimea, at least for now.
  12. Let's go back to 1983. But with more work on punt fielding.
  13. I see the @names all the time, but have personally never received any alert/flag/etc. No idea if notifications are turned off, and don't really care enough to check. Are you really as gullible as you post? You don't think an idiot aspiring rapper might be into performance art? I recall CR cheering and high fiving when some leftist would false flag pose as MAGA to get in and then disrupt a rally, or pose as a conservative to get into a politician's appearance to then ask a left hot take question/sound bite. Or a million music videos where they pose as someone on the right to mock them. Those stills don't yet prove anything. Here's a still photo of him escaping the murder scene in drag, are we also supposed to deduce from it that he was trans? See the flaw in your technique yet? I don't really care what this scumbag loser's views are, he deserves the death penalty. Pretty much everyone thinks that, you're a deluded nut if you think I'm cool with such murder. So I'm somehow a bad guy for not rushing to the perpetually angry, unhinged loony bin forum to post about it? Most of y'all haven't posted squat about all the ongoing Chicago murders (12 just this weekend) does that thus mean you don't care about black deaths? BTW, no indication yet that he targeted Jews. Doesn't his dad own a restaurant in town and ran for mayor there? Probably more of a factor in why he choose the location, but we don't know a lot yet. But I realize y'all are desperate to once again paint this as some mythical right wing Nazi homophobe cartoon villain. But if you want to play that game... ...pretty sure this guy isn't a Hillsdale College graduate. ,,,does not appear very MAGA, but who knows. Red rose tattoo is generally associated with the Socialist/Marxist/hard left movement. 47 tat (& suit & red tie) supposedly is related to some show called "Hitman"... ...not "Cuz he wants Trump to be #47 in 2024!" nonsense. Aspiring rapper went by the name "Awake", seems closer to woke than MAGA, but perhaps time will tell. His dad ran as a GOP candidate, but I would not assume parent and child share the same ideology. Have y'all suddenly forgotten Claudia Conway or Ted Cruz's daughter? Most of CR's own parents? Some of y'all disown them every other month (then keep coming back to ask for investment in a European second home...) OBTW, most of the replies to his rapper social media account seem to be hard left/Socialist/Marxist kids. Seems odd that they'd be fans if he's MAGA, but who knows right now. Doesn't change the fact that he's an immoral murderous scumbag. Perhaps not the thread for this, but you asked here, and it looks like some are bitching that I haven't commented, and I don't come in here much, so here ya go.
  14. Was a hoping a trailing domestique would stop and go all Joey Chestnut on those idiot fans that released that cloud of yellow dust into the peloton. Can't understand Nicolas Roche half the time with his low mumbling.
  15. BYU is already the actual P12 champ, last year going undefeated against AZ, ASU, USC, Washington St, and faux champ Utah.
  16. I thought it was 6 schools that have played each other at least 5 consecutive years. I believe that was an early version, all the reporters could get their hands on. Subsequent version extended to 2036, IIRC. Anyway, I wonder if some of the willingness for several Pac schools to talk to the B12 has to do with being sick of Stanford and Cal's crap. Stanford (and probably Cal's) snootiness has at least twice killed off efforts to secure the Pac's future by adding us. And apparently a PITA regarding other matters that could have helped the Pac. So instead of more of the same as the conference tries to avoid sinking, here's the chance to move to a conf. with a different attitude and values. But the B12 isn't in the clear yet. Of course it all depends on ND, B1G, and SEC, but the ACC does have the chance, if ESPN plays along, to strengthen some and expand. The ACC can go to unequal revenue sharing and ESPN could up per school pay a bit if they add a few schools, say 2-6 of the best brands/markets from the B12 or even Pac. The advantage for ESPN would be to strengthen the ACC as their secondary conference, with more and stronger quality matchups for their non-SEC slots. Let the weakest of the B12/Pac go to Fox/CBS/whatever or still the chance to bid for part of the leftover B12 (or Pac) conf. but at a greater discount. As for now the ACCNet still exists, and still could get some $ for getting new schools in major markets. I don't know what would pencil out, but perhaps we'd see 2 of the Texas schools added if they think that could get local rates for DFW, Houston, and maybe the entire state. Oregon and Wash if still available, maybe ASU and Okie St for a bridge and new states, or Cinci instead for Ohio, playoff potential, etc. Don't know what their thinking and valuing is, but I'd expect ESPN wants to insure and solidify the ACC has the clear #3 conference, a confl they own fully versus half owned. B12 expansion threatens that. Or maybe they do nothing. Too many potential moving parts right now to know for sure.
