Adopt A Playoff Team?
- Whitesnake - Fare Thee Well, David Coverdale Retires
Whitesnake is easy to write off as just another 80s hair metal band, but they have a real legacy back to 70s hard rock. I love the original version of this one: Check out that bass! They evolved and had their hair years, and Vai certainly took them in a different direction. But they were just one of the best guitar bands ever and a helluva frontman. Enjoy your golden years Dave.- Arsenal 2025-26: Phase 5 🔴⚪️

- Road Trip - Athens (UGA)
Atlanta, not Athens. Huge fan too. Hung out with them backstage at the Tabernacle. John was drunk he could barely talk. Or maybe that was me. Cutty Sark sponsored the tour (shudder). They are touring with Alter Bridge next year. THWG. My favorite teams are GT, Texas, and whoever is playing Georgia. This weekend I get a twofer!- The New Car Fanatic Thread

- Losers always whine about their best.
It’s certainly more enjoyable than my average day... reading philosophy, avoiding gang rape in the washrooms... though, it's less of a problem these days… Maybe I'm losing my sex appeal.- Pluribus - Vince Gilligan and Rhea Seehorn
Pretty blatant message about the dangers of AI this week. Otherwise not a lot happened. BTW: team ahole Carol for any activity in the cold.- All Things Brisket
I just don’t see how you comfortably get a big packer on one of those. The BGE grate is 18” and it’s completely jammed in there. And you have the same problem with the fire being below.- Fast Food guilty pleasures
We always marveled in college (early 90s) that it didn’t matter what you ordered at Taco Bell it was always about $4. That and the $2.99 two-cheeseburger meal at McDonald’s were staples, drunk or sober. Back when you could pay for dinner with the change in your car’s ashtray.- All Things Brisket
Apologies if this is heresy but are pellet smokers any good for brisket? My large BGE is not ideal. It’s hard to get a big packer on there and inevitably the bottom and edges get too hot. Neighbors like but I I know it can be better. Best I ever made was on a big offset but I don’t want one of those.- Pluribus - Vince Gilligan and Rhea Seehorn

Of course I’m not a savage- The movie you just watched
The Thing From Another World, 1951. It’s the film that inspired the 1984 remake which is my all time favorite horror movie. James Arness plays the thing. I recorded it from TCM the other day. It’s a different take on the plot and a fun little black and white flick. I’d never heard of Margaret Sheridan but what a charming young actress. Apparently she turned down a big role in a John Wayne film because she was pregnant, and as a result her career never took off. But some think she could have been just as big as any of her silver screen starlets. She died in the 80s at 55 from lung cancer. It’s a shame everyone smoked back then.- Pluribus - Vince Gilligan and Rhea Seehorn
Oh yeah. That’s a shitshow for sure.- Pluribus - Vince Gilligan and Rhea Seehorn
A lot of cars / vehicles are traveling at low enough speeds for the occupant(s) to survive a crash, or are even sitting still. Lots of injuries for sure but I don’t think every car crash or even the majority would be fatal.- Fast Food guilty pleasures
