  1. San Sebastián is great. I’ve also done a Paradore at Santillana Del Mar that was very idyllic and quiet, and tapas in a wine cave (warehouse full of casks) in Santander. Bilbao is very city-like like Barcelona but the Guggenheim is impressive. North coast of Spain is a fun trip. We got a rental car and drove all along the Basque region. Easy to recommend.
  2. Landed this morning at 8am local time and just finished a fantastic three hour dinner with colleagues. Restaurant recs are almost pointless, everything is kickass. This was Cherie/Secret Tapas just off of Diagonal and Granados.
  3. All the supporting characters are money. Paul Adelstein as Wrigley was great. “Everybody eats berries!”
  4. I can’t stop thinking about how bad this was. Why was the tunnel to the lab secret? How did they get Annie’s body up that ladder? How did all the scientists get down the ladder so fast when Annie was wrecking shop? Why was a bunch of nerds’ reaction to a break in to murder the unarmed burglar?
  5. “Atilla the Hun. Ivan the Terrible. Henry the Eighth. What do they have in common?” “…middle name?”
  6. I love love love this movie. One of my favorite Cohen films. Clooney is in masterful comedic form and CZJ is at the top of her game, just stunning. So many great lines. I have a nine hour flight later today and was looking for something to watch, might have to throw this on the iPad. Super underrated. “Objection your honor. Strangling the witness.” ”I’m going to allow it.”
  7. I worked there for its entire existence. Fun morning: couldn’t get an Uber in downtown Dallas so I walked about a mile dragging a suitcase and laptop bag on the warmest day of the year to my meeting. Showed up 15 mins late sweating like a whore in church. Coverage came back around 11:15CT
  8. I honestly thought they were going to tie in some sort of toxin in the water that was making everyone go crazy. It’s the only thing I could come up with that would have explained any of it, and even that theory would have had issues. Like someone else posted: the fact that they didn’t explain any of the other symptoms like fried corneas or burns is really shitty. On top of all the other shitty stiff. This didn’t earn the TD name. Stolen valor.
  9. They are not hard to sit and play, they are impossible to sit and play. One of the dumbest designs ever, including the silly clustered sound holes.
  10. How did I fuck that up so bad? Ocho Cimarron Casamigos Never had 1940
  11. I used to really enjoy Casamigos Reposado. And I don’t begrudge anyone who likes it, drink what you like. But as as soon as I started drinking good additive-free stuff it ruined Casamigos and all the other vanilla-flavored tequilas for me.
  12. 1910 is my fave of the regular OF offerings. Desert island bourbon imo.
  13. Took the wife and two kids to Commander’s Palace for her birthday. It’s good but I’m not sure it’s $500 good. That’s our second time there: I want to check off some different high end places next time. Port of Call is a funky joint off of Esplanade with good burgers (served with a baked potato) and *powerful* tiki drinks Who Dat in Marigny was really good for breakfast. I liked staying in Marigny. Easy access to Frenchman and FQ. Neat neighborhood.
  14. Tsalal Team Six (Stolen from Reddit)
  15. You’re locked in a room with a big glass window. You have a gun. What do you do?
  16. Confirmed. WW2 museum is fantastic as well. Apparently Stephen Ambrose was instrumental in in making it happen. Bastogne exhibit is badass.
  17. 4,2,1,3 The little liquor store by our airbnb this weekend had little bottles of Cimarron. Now I have a little bottle of Cimarron.
  18. Eater says that Drago’s has the best chargrilled oysters so we will find out today or tomorrow.
  19. I like the way you pour.
