  1. Those stats are not procedure-, implant-, sport-, or position- specific. They are worst for basketball overall though. EDIT Limitations on explosive power are neuromuscular. The tendon either ruptures or doesn't. Sometimes the muscle rehab doesn't go well, sometimes psych factors limit explosive power. In terms of the repair limiting it, either the tendon re-ruptures or it doesn't.
  2. Yes EDIT with a re-rupture incidence of about 5%
  3. After Achilles tear and repair, most players do return (70-80 percent). Most that return are not as good 1 year out. That effect tends to wash out by 2 years for those who actually do return.
  4. Not to go all sour grapes here, but is someone with great prospects elsewhere who signs with Auburn these days accidentally telling us something about his insight and/or priorities?
  5. Aggies. Should always be #5 for the fifth wheel.
  6. Brent Venables replies repeatedly in group texts
  7. Assuming those OU fans are actually believers, I wonder what they imagine their creator thinks of being used as part of football trash talk.
  8. Brent Venables likes orange slices and killing himself in Florida
  9. What do you want to do on our vacation? I know! Let's go to Austin to see the historic School of Social Work Building. Said no one ever.
  10. Caveman commercial
  11. Surly Intelligence
  12. Me last season: this is crazy! Colorado is actually winning some games! Me this year: WTF? How can he not... NVM. (Waits for wheels to come off)
  13. Ocho Cinco v Ocho Dedos?
  14. His chance to hang a loss on them?
  15. Brown #2 time at UNC stinks
  16. I'd buy that for a dollar!
  17. We should at least about it.
  18. If I'm the team doc and he isn't 100 (footballese 110) percent healthy, I recommend sitting that guy until OU. It's easier to hurt something more than to start hurting something like this. Ewers is not going to play 80% effort or 80% contact and shouldn't be throwing and getting hit at "80"% health. Don't take an injury 1-2 weeks away from being all better and make it 4 weeks away unless you are in single elimination and the player is mission-critical. That medical opinion may be worth exactly what you paid for it.
  19. I like listening to Klatt now. Watching that game in real time, I loved the crushing victory (we could have named any score we liked in a conference championship!), and I loved the hit (sans penalty). Looking at old videos and stills of the hit makes me feel a little bad for him now. I guess I'm going soft.
  20. 1. QB quitting on team = wrong. Do not let your team down. Fight the man another way, but do not quit on your team. 2. BM promising money that won't be delivered = wrong. Looks very slimy. 3. NIL group comes off, to me at least, looking a little low-power but not necessarily culpable in this show. 4. HFBC needs to know more and/or intervene more if this was BM. If you aren't coaching it, you are allowing it to happen. 5. This makes them look like amateur hour and will hurt the opportunities for all involved when more professional counterparties are available in the future. 6. This increases my gratitude for the professional way Texas and its NIL program appear to be run.
  21. Back in the day when I used to be in the ER more, this chick came in missing her front few teeth, upper and lower. She indicated that it was her "love groove." Just say no.
  22. Punt on first down every possession and let our defense win this 2 points at a time. Avoid risking injury to our RB or QB.
  23. Some people are so insightful that they can discern PfP when a commercial benefit independent of interest in the well being of the team motivates NIL. They are so insightful that they can tell the person making the deal himself, e.g., immamac, what that person is thinking and doing. They can discern PfP when playing is neither anticipated nor observed during the contract year. We should listen to them. Or maybe NIL very frequently functions like PfP without actually being it. Logical distinctions are tricky. Broad brushes are easy.
  24. That’s great. There are now contracts that protect players in case of injury. How about addressing the issue of players receiving payments with the express understanding that they will not be playing as I also referenced. EDIT also, what about all the contracts where there is a more commercial benefit for the people paying for the NL? Is that paid to play?
