  1. OKC/Boston highly entertaining. Boston shot 36 three's in the first half. Jeez. I think they said the record is 75 or something? OKC 18-25 on two point shots. Okie City not playing with the good Jalen Williams, though. Caruso also out.
  2. And they'll blame immigrants and Caleb will believe that.
  3. Sorry Caleb. Not really, though. You chose....poorly Caleb Ragland, a soybean farmer in Magnolia, Ky., voted for President Donald Trump in 2016, 2020 and 2024. Now, however, he has to navigate a tariff minefield at a time when the sector is already facing major headwinds. Ragland works with his wife and three sons and has deep roots in the community. His family has been farming on the land for more than two centuries. But in recent years, he has seen a double-digit percentage decline in crop prices while production costs rise, with soybean futures having gone down more than 40% over the past three years along with corn futures. As pressures mount in the industry as a result of tariffs imposed by the second Trump administration — as well as retaliatory levies from other countries — he’s worried about the longevity of his business. “My sons potentially could be the 10th generation if they’re able to farm,” Ragland, who is also the president of the American Soybean Association, told CNBC. “And when you have policies that are completely out of our control – that they manipulate our prices 20%, 30%, and on the flip side, our costs go up – we won’t be able to stay in business.” “We’re already at the point that we’re unprofitable,” Ragland said. “Why on earth are we trying to add insult to injury for the ag sector by basically adding a tax?” Ragland pointed out that he “appreciates the president’s ability to negotiate” and wants Trump to be successful for the sake of the country. However, he emphasized that those in the industry, especially soybean producers, don’t have any “elasticity in our ability to weather a trade war that takes away from our bottom line.” “Folks are upset,” Ragland said about sentiment from other farmers, stressing that they all need relief through deals that reduce barriers to trade and a new five-year comprehensive farm bill – legislation that provides producers with key commodity support programs, among others. “You’re talking about people’s livelihoods,” he remarked. https://www.cnbc.com/2025/03/11/how-trumps-trade-policy-is-putting-pressure-on-us-farmers.html
  4. Hey, Steve.... Go fuck yourself since no one else will, you incel piece of shit.
  5. Also, I guess I didn't realize it but Kyrie is also out next season, basically. Makes sense considering the injury. I just didn't think about it. As much fun as it was to laugh at their misfortune if you're not a Mavs fan, this kind of sucks at this point. There was starting to be a good rivalry between the 4 teams in OK and Texas, especially Dallas and OKC. Even after the trade, the roster that worried me the most from OKC's perspective was Dallas (if healthy). It was still a bad trade for the long term but for this season, you had Kryie, AD, Klay, big who are legit big, and PJ Washington plays like First Team All NBA against OKC. Now, not only is that not happening but the team is gutted for the foreseeable future. Kinda sucks.
  6. I'd agree with both of those. Should be noted that this was his first back to back since the injury. It's like he really hasn't gotten into a rhythm since he's come back, which is understandable. He was having a pretty decent offensively before that. What is frustrating to me is he's good enough to score on most anyone but doesn't seem to realize it. He can shoot over smaller players and blow by bigger ones. Just seems like of passive.
  7. Was at the game and yeah, Chet wasn't very good. Jalen Williams also went out hurt. Denver just played really well and shot lights out, especially in the second half. I don't know the splits by half but Denver shot 60% for the game and 56% from three. Even Westbrook shot it well. No one is going to beat anyone when they shoot like that. Can Denver do that 4 times over 7 games? Prolly not. A cool moment, though, right before tip. Westbrook started and ran down towards the baseline for the tip. He went over and hugged Clay Bennett (principal owner) and his wife. One way or another, he'll retire if nothing else but a ceremonial last contract.
  8. SGA also leads the league in drives so yeah, he's going to get fouled more. I don't get the hate for any of these guys. People bitch and moan about teams taking too many three's and here comes SGA with a three level, nuanced game similar to Kobe and people bitch. BS was going through how he's having one of the best statistical seasons ever for a guard and they have a 12 game lead on Jokic's team.
  9. I was surprised how good Hartenstein was. Legit great at everything except shooting, which is fine. Perfect complement to Chet. The Giddey/Caruso trade seems to have worked for everyone. Giddey is doing OK in Chicago where he's more on ball. Caruso is a great defender and serviceable shooter. Gets injured a lot, though. Both him and Hartenstein have been great chemistry fits, too, On the SGA being a "free throw merchant," can you tell me any great players that don't do that? It's been a part of the game for as long as I can remember. He just seems better at it because of his herky jerky style.
  10. He took 8 FT's yesterday and didn't have a FTA in the entire 4th quarter.
  11. Same. I know that most coaches tighten up the rotation in the playoffs but they go a legit 10 team with 7 of them basically mostly interchangeable wings. Even with the three big men, two of them can shoot. Everyone good to great at defense, too. These other teams like Denver and LA just don't have any depth and OKC just comes at you the whole game. Even today, Jalen Williams and Shai only played 38 minutes each. Meanwhile, Jokic and Murray played 42 and Porter was even at 38. Hell, the sat the top 6 players against Portland and still won by 20 or some such. Their weakness is still overall shooting. They can collectively hit long cold stretches.
  12. Yeah, I know all that. Just that calling someone a Make A Wish kid is funny but harsh. I'll allow it.
  13. "Make a wish kid?" Damn.
  14. America will be least partially great again.
  15. Good thing she covers basketball then, am I right?
  16. BOWIE, Texas—Last week, 17-year-old Gauge Bass enlisted in the Air Force with his mother’s support. Both agreed that he wouldn’t have done so if President Trump hadn’t won the election. “Trump is a more reliable source of direction for the country,” said his mother, Joy Story, a maintenance worker at an apartment complex who has struggled to support her two children. The recently enlisted Bass, who lost his father to addiction when he was a child and became a father himself at 15, said he had increasingly felt despair in recent years over the economy and the state of the country in general. His mother, though she relies on Medicaid and food stamps, said she resents other forms of government assistance that she thinks encourage people not to work. Bass learned more about politics through his grandmother, Melody Gillespie, who serves as the Montague County GOP chair. https://www.wsj.com/politics/trump-voting-county-montague-texas-b42e3a4b?mod=hp_lista_pos2
  17. He bet his life savings on paper straws. Trump may destroy his business. After 50 years toiling in the country’s paper mills, the 75-year-old plunked his life savings into creating a “24 hours strong” straw that he manufactures in Woodstock, Illinois, and sells to more than 1,000 restaurants, bars, coffee shops and casinos. But now, two years in, Spinelli says the party is over. President Donald Trump’s executive order last month calling to “end the use of paper straws” dealt a swift, decisive blow to his business, Boss Straw. Orders have stalled, even though the action only stopped purchases of paper straws by the federal government. Instead of selling $800,000 worth of straws this year, Spinelli fears it’ll be one-tenth of that. “Our distributors are saying, ‘Everyone’s going back to plastic now because of the president,’” he said. “The president I voted for, the man who says ‘Let’s make America great again, let’s help small businesses grow,’ that man is going to put me out of business.” https://www.yahoo.com/news/bet-life-savings-paper-straws-161301480.html
  18. I don't think Moser was a bad hire. I just think that's a dead end program now. Almost no fan support, what NIL money they have goes to football and softball, not a great arena, no in state talent, etc. They had a good program for a long time but that was in the pre NIL days. What demand there is for basketball in that market goes to Thunder games for a whole list of reasons. It killed all fan interest for both OU and OSU.
  19. Jalen Green is borderline undersized and FVV and Reed Shepard are wildly undersized to the point you can't play them at the same time. God forbid you play them at the same time with Green at the 3. For Green to be a 6'4" (if that SG, he needs to be offensively elite. He is not elite. He's a PG body playing SG. I guess Smith is tall enough but he's 6'10" and getting 6 rebounds per game so I'm not sure what the height does.
  20. I'm sure we have a lot of newly minted wildfire experts on here from back in January. Have they weighed yet to blame it on Abbott?
  21. She's basically just heavy Tesla and always has been.
  22. #3. 100%. We legitimately like going to the movies but most of the movies we want to see either aren't anywhere near us or in some obscure theater at an odd time. I want to see Anora, Babygirl, and The Substance but I can't find any other them so I'm just waiting until they come out on streaming. Instead, all of the theaters are stacked with cartoons and comic book movies.
  23. Punch to the balls after a punch to the gut. In theory, they were still going to the playoffs with a (maybe) healthy AD. Now they likely fall out if Phoenix gets their shit together. (Even if the Suns do that, they're not winning the play in games.) Kings playing well, too, and no one saw that coming. Races seem to be tween the Lakers and Nuggets for the 2/3 and the 6-10 for the order and if they can avoid the play in.
