  1. Run game is gonna have to be stubborn. They actually don't give up consistent yards on runs, but they will break on occasion and give up a big play.
  2. I realize how locals are going to respond to this, but wife and I go to Trudy's for TexMex when we are in Austin. Comidor Guadalajara when in Phoenix. Henderson has some excellent food in general, but it's been at least a decade and a half.
  3. It's all relative isn't it? I'm a Georgia resident and would kill for cold soggy Sonny Bryan's. Salt Lick is perfectly fine for out-of-towners. It's a great overall experience and the BBQ is still going to be the best they've ever had. The shittest BBQ in Centex is basically the best BBQ anywhere else.
  4. It's actually a good sign for the program that this is the first time I've seen someone post that we are bowl eligible. I'm sure the actual first time is buried in the game thread somewhere, but positive sign overall that we aren't ironically celebrating it.
  5. Feels like there has to be more to this. They played last week and both teams did a little first down ceremony for him. The coach resigning is strange.
  6. Texas is the most biased towards women's sports in social media, not most equal. I wonder if LHN twitter were included how that would change.
  7. Teams buy/sell/trade scouting info all the time.
  8. Why would Vegas care unless they were shaving/fixing?

    Fuck Big 12 refs

Yes. For those that don't know: Kansas rakes in more media revenue than any SEC or B1G team. #3 in the nation.
  10. Yeah. I've changed my mindset from when this originally broke. This was an integral part of their scouting. The players obviously prepare with it, so it's clearly known by everyone. A high school team could do this with tools they already have. Modern scouting already works this way. A HS assistant coach watches hudl and plugs the plays and whatever information is being tracked into a database. The computer does all the checking for correlations and outputs whatever and however you want it. All you would do extra is input the various signs. Responding to other posts as I catch up: 1) You couldn't do the same thing with public information. By rule, all-22 can't show the visitor sideline and home teams hide their own. You could make an effort to gather as much as possible from broadcasts, but you'd end up with more uncertainty and holes than useful information. 2) A team can't simply "change signals" to combat this. Teams might have different sets of signals, but if your sideline is being recorded every play across several games, the opponent is going to have all of them. And you can't like go in at halftime and completely change with no prep or practice.
  11. Does "3-3-5" here mean "3-safety aka flyover defense" or does it mean "3-3-5?" Because the latter doesn't really tell anyone anything.
  12. On3 is correct in that our offense/Quinn have struggled against it (along with every other spread team). But it's not something that teams switch to and suddenly shut us down, that's media narrative exaggeration. UH played a 3-safety 3-3-5 (3-3-3 or 3x3) throughout the entire game. Here's our first offensive snap: It's pretty much a defense designed to counter the modern spread RPO and zone read.
  13. Yes. Pretty much any waving is an invalid signal. There's even a specific example of waving off teammates in the rulebook.
  14. This is clearly a fall guy. They'll have issues tying this back to the school.

That call on Burke was a declined facemask, not a declined holding. Was there another declined?

It's not hard. The linesman doesn't actually try to determine where it goes out of bounds, he'll walk up the sideline until the referee (who stands right behind the punter) signals that the linesman is directly inline with the direction of the punt. So you basically have one referee setting the line of the boundary and one setting the line of the punt and they just make the two lines intersect.
  17. Houston and BYU would be a -0.5 or EVEN game. They both suck. Apparently we can play our worst game and beat Houston. Let's not do it again.
  18. Yes. We've had this same discussion before. He is never going to abandon inside zone. Most of his downfield RPO and PA atrack is built around it. He's gonna be fine with teams overplaying it if it leaves Sanders wide open or we can get 20 yards off a simple screen pass.
