  1. Highlights for me was whizzing around in a rental being in awe of how different the flora was to what youre used to. It was evocative of a textbook drawings of some dinosaur-era scenery. Visiting farms and trying sheep shearing and playing with adorable little lambs was fun. And then I found activities like ATV treks, mountain biking, things like that. Shit was definitely expensive though.
  2. SF gets a bad rap but people forget what it offers for those who love the outdoors: where else can you pitch a tent downtown, in the middle of a city?
  3. My excuse when I'm behind on a school project:
  4. Cap One is a very popular issuer for first card. They're probably the most lenient. It was my first independent card. Previous to that I was added to my parents card, and I automatically inherited that to my credit history.
  5. It's 2024. Get an Apple Card - no annual fees or other nonsense. You can grant access to a 13 year old. It's tied to their Apple account and your primary one, so everything can be monitored, limits can be set, etc. It's also enabled on their phone -- which they probably prefer -- so no physical card to lose. https://www.apple.com/apple-card/family/
  6. Remember when Kyler Murray got to perform for Kevin Garnett while he was a member of a dance crew?

  11. I put it in airquotes because i always found that notion ridiculous, as is its popular corollary that the “bond market is smarter”. there was a ton of chatter when the yields crossed the last time…but today, crickets
  12. 10Y-2Y treasury yield spread is flat again, from having been inverted (due to more demand of long term bonds over short term bonds), which was historically a “signal” of a recession. crisis averted everyone.
  13. Rumors of Intel getting kicked out of the DJIA. That would hurt it even further due to outflows from index and fund investing. It and Boeing are the 2 absolute dogs on the list in terms of financial performance but also stock and consumer sentiment.
  14. Hyundai has a 10yr/100k mi battery warranty to maintain 70% of original capacity Tesla has 8yr/100-120-150k mi battery warranty to maintain 70% of original capacity Current price for a pack is around $10k. It's expected to continue falling given decreasing battery cost, and more EVs on the road contributing to supply of re-manufactured packs. Working used packs probably fetch around $5k for people repurposing them as home storage.

  18. Because I dont talk about defecation with people in real life….does anyone else make a toilet paper floaties to prevent splashing? Before I shit i lay about 2 layers of TP on the surface of the water. And then after a particularly smelly turd I might drape another square of paper on top to reduce the emissive smell. Less splashing, less odorous. Is that just me or nah?

  23. It's all solid-state electronics and automotive-graded stuff. Consider normal cars have lots of circuitry and computers, too. I wouldnt be concern about vibration-induced wear.
