Gotta be cognitive/behavioral/effort issue. He's physically gifted enough to be starting on such a bad line. The fact he isnt getting time when they're grasping at straws at his position tells me he's such damaged goods at this point they don't even see the point to his involvement with the program.

Yeah, which is why I asked - does anyone know?

has to be redshirting right?  just waiting to transfer?   what else could be the reason?

He's a RS-JR, already. My personal opinion is Flood is just a fucking moron. I don't think Neto sucks or anything, it's just negligence. There is absolutely no way Brooks, a true frosh who's never played G is better than a guy who has played LG his entire career. It was a panic move by both Sark and Flood and now we have three tackles playing on the o-line, and two natural guards pretending to play C. They refuse to admit to their mistake, even at the cost of the season or him transferring because of narcassism and they won't admit they are wrong.

I feel like you should be able to get that answer from Bobby, or maybe even 1 of the TEs. Then you should come back and report.

Pretty pretty please!

Lol... Flood has put how many OL in the NFL in his 4-5 years here?  and how many were drafted in the 15 years prior?  Look our OL issues are there but don't be stupid.  Neto was "difficult" during his recruitment if you don't remember.  $9.95s implied that he was pretty much a jerk during his entire recruitment.  It's why none of them had any idea where he was going.  He was set to go to Bama and then did a 180 last minute and committed to Texas.  If I remember correctly, his parents may have forced that decision as he has siblings at Texas.   This staff has no problems playing guys with character issues or divas as we saw with Isiah Bond, Worthy, Cook, and some of the Bama cast offs.  If Neto hasn't gotten a single snap when we are desperate at the position, it very likely has to do with Neto than Kyle Flood.  Don't be stupid.

OK, I get that and can agree, but we also heard all off-season that he was starting next to Goosby all through the spring and most of fall camp, but then magically it was Stroh. Make it make sense. Stroh is literally abysmal, and their thought process while getting throttled by UF was to put in Brooks, a guy who has never played the position, only tackle, rather than play, oh, I dunno, Kibble? Since Flood likes to move his guys around, why not put in a natural G who has been in the system for a year rather than a true freshman tackle? It makes no sense.

What Flood has done in the past is irrelevant. What he has done the last 4 seasons is mismanagement at best. It's like saying we should hire Mack Brown because he won a championship and put a lot of players in the draft, but of course that would be stupid because look at what he is now. This applies to Flood as well. We have close to 70% three stars in the O-line room at Texas. That should never happen. We have currently 4 former 4/5 stars. Whatever Flood did in the past he's a shell of himself now.

As for his recruitment, I have no idea, tbh. I vaguely remember it, but nothing about him being an asshole or not.

You keep saying don’t be stupid, all while you’re quoting and engaging with one of the biggest blathering idiots on this board. Think on that one for a minute

If it's purely a character/culture problem why is he still on the team?  The only thing that makes any sense is he is serving some kind of non-public suspension or just to keep the brother/family happy, they have let him stay on the team "in good standing" preserving a redshirt.  Is he on travel squad?  If not has to be one of those.  I can't imagine he's good enought to be actual answer or this all would have been sorted out, but I also think surely he would have gotten some snaps last week as Brooks was flailing (and Stroh "out") had he actually been available.
