So we just became the latest victims of porch piracy. Less than 15 minutes after the Amazon driver dropped off a couple packages at our front door some dude ran up and swiped them and ran off. I have him on video but I doubt I will see him or the packages again. We have plenty of hiding places by the front door but the driver chose to leave them in plain sight. That said, Amazon supposedly offers refunds or will resend items that are stolen. Is this true and how is it done? I can’t seem to get very far on the Amazon site.

At bottom of Amazon page there is a "Help" link, click that and type that your package was stolen... it should lead you to correct solution, likely chatting with a customer service rep (that's what you are looking for) who can walk you through what can be done.

Click on “returns and orders” in the top right hand corner.

Find the order in the list displayed of your recent orders.

Click on “problem with order” and the prompts will help you from there.

I'm sure the police will be happy to run their facial recognition software on your video.  They should be able to nail the perps in no time.  Based on what I've seen they should be able to solve this in less than an hour.

He’s right. They’re working in shifts.

I'm sure they have leads.

once or twice ive filed a missed delivery report with amazon customer service and they promptly refund or replaced the thing.

shouldnt be a problem.  with the right permutation of order history, item value, claim frequency.. pretty sure they have generous allowance for such things.

Thanks guys. It’s not the most intuitive process but they are reshipping both items at no charge.
