What I'm asking is, how do you get enough Republican voters on board it to get it passed in Congress?

Do you mean Republican voters to vote for the Dem or Republican Congressmen to vote for the legislation? I'm not being an ass here, I'm genuinely confused as to what you're talking about.

I'll go ahead and answer both:

1) (Republican voting citizens) You don't. Obviously you'll get the Obama->Trump people back with a strong progressive vision, but the McCain->Romney->Trump voters? You don't get them. They're gone. Goodbye. You don't need them to win, you need the non-voters.

Non-voters are why Trump won.

This is why grassroots campaigns based on popular movements are necessary. Voter turnout machines are necessary. Bernie & Beto are grassroots, mass movement people. Bernie was filling arenas left and right in the 2016 primary and his crowds are already in overflow areas a year out from the Iowa caucus. That's how you win.

Who are the non-voters?

- Women
- Minorities
- Young people

Who is Bernie's base so far in this very early primary season? (link)

- Women
- Minorities
- Young people

2) (Republican Congressmen) You don't. You beat them and get them out of office. If you don't beat them, you try to negotiate with them. All the while, you never stop trying to beat them. You play the fucking game to win and you crush your god damned enemies.

Bernie fuckin' rules

What's especially creepy is that he could have started ANY letter to Margaret Thatcher with the exact same first 7 words regarding ANY topic, and it would have been just as appropriate.

Bern is the godfather of all the ideas that others have plagiarized so deftly. He deserves the nomination for his originality and genius that will shape America for the next 100 years.  A humble gentleman, he's not one to brag, so we have to pick up the game for him.

All Voters (Crosstabs)

Bernie: 46-43 (+3 net) 5% never heard of (Bernie is the only politician polled with a net favorable rating among all voters with his +3. Trump is at -13 lol)
Beto: 26-28 (-2 net) 35% never heard of

Look at this depressing crap from December -> March. Jesus this is grim.

Bernie favorable went down 4
Bernie unfavorable went up 8 (net -12)

Beto favorable went up 1
Beto unfavorable went up 12 (net -11)

Bernie is the one true Socialist, foretold by Marx, who will come down from the heavens (Vermont) to smite all of the non-believers (Democrats). It is our sworn duty to protect Bernie at all costs and destroy his enemies using whatever tools we have at our disposal (Twitter). Especially if they are women or POCs. This is my solemn oath as a Bernie Bro.

lol Hugo heading towards Trumpism

"BUT VENEZUELA!"

(I'd be very interested in a substantive critique of that article, but you're a very stupid person, so I'll probably be waiting forever)

[edit]

Fuck it, why wait.

For instance, according to data compiled by the UK Guardian, Chavez's first decade in office saw Venezuelan GDP more than double and both infant mortality and unemployment almost halved. Then there is a remarkable graph from the World Bank that shows that under Chavez's brand of socialism, poverty in Venezuela plummeted (the Guardian reports that its "extreme poverty" rate fell from 23.4 percent in 1999 to 8.5 percent just a decade later). In all, that left the country with the third lowest poverty rate in Latin America. Additionally, as Weisbrot points out, "college enrollment has more than doubled, millions of people have access to health care for the first time and the number of people eligible for public pensions has quadrupled."

Some of that sounds like what’s still happening to Bernie. It’s not a horrible opinion when you get off the headline.

You’re right, the article isn’t horrible, it covers all the bad shit but the misleading headline makes it look propagandy.

Bernie is by far the most authentic human being in the race, if your'e into truth and straight talk. Everyone knows Beto is a hologram, Biden a creep, others are bitches and whores.  Only 1 remains, by your own admission. Don't be fooled by hucksters. Kill them.

Theranos also had a decade of amazing prosperity.

Good comparison. Was Theranos intentionally being undermined by the most powerful government the world has seen? Let’s not let the lie be uncovered.

do you think he's too old? Yes.

Does he not speak well? He gets his point across.

is he dumb? No.

is he fake, dishonest, a liar? I'm thinking no, but he really needs to release ALL of those tax returns.

thanks!

Tried looking for the quote bringing up Bernie’s foreign policy. If his foreign policy began and ended here it would have been enough. He has still taken notice of the critics and is looking to take his progressive agenda worldwide. Make no mistake people around the world are listening. The movement would only grow with him as president.

Can we please be specific about where his weak spot is? Russia? Saudi Arabia? Israel? Central/South America? And if we label Bernie weak on foreign policy... wtf is the rest of the field?

Bernie would allow Putin to take over Europe and the Middle East but then again so would Trump so whatever.

I expect more out of you idk why I just do. Why do you say this? You had a nightmare? Let’s try and back it up with facts if we are going to make bombastic claims.

And then tell me what Butt, Warren, and Beto think on the matter.

He’s too soft on our enemies, both rhetorically and when it comes to voting.

I’m sure BT will be in here shortly to call me a warmonger but I don’t trust Bernie to stand up to Putin when he needs to.

He got it right on a lot of votes like Iraq and that should count for something so he’s not all bad.

Warren is the only one I expected any substance from. I like her. I do. She’s trying to fix a system that can’t be fixed but at least she knows it’s fucked.

That article reads very similar to this one. Notice the dates.

Not bad, he should do more of this and I wish he’d call out Putin by name but this pleases me.

I skipped over the Rand Paul part, I can’t take his bullshit.

There’s plenty more

Also not bad, not a whole lot of substance but certainly improved my perception of Bernie’s worldview.

The substance is in the man’s body of work. There is literally countless videos. I haven’t even seen them all. It’s fucking crazy.

Hugo is not operating in good faith.

Facts were never part of Hugo's "Bernie (heart) Russia" bullshit so facts won't get him out of it. He's not operating in good faith.

Perhaps. Certainly possible. Not all about Hugo either.

At the end of the day facts are the only thing that should matter when trying to persuade fairly intelligent people. Cue Trump loves the uneducated.

Sorry if I’m still skeptical of the guy that refuses to vote against the oligarchs and honeymoons in the Soviet Union, you know, as one does.

Yes, I’ve heard all the excuses.

Magnitsky Act: “What about the other democrats that didn’t vote?!?”  Yeah, they’re not running for president.  Just admit you fucked up on this one, it’s okay, everyone makes mistakes.

2016 Interference Sanctions:  “My ideology on Iran prevents me from punishing Russia.”  Okay Bernie, way to stay committed to your principles at the expense of your political career.  I don’t give a shit about Iran, this was the time to stand up to Russia with everyone but Rand Paul.  Ball dropped.

Oleg Deripaska Sanctions - “It would have passed anyway, my vote wasn’t needed, plus I was in a meeting.”  JFC Bernie you suck at this.  If your vote didn’t matter, you could have at least voted for the political capital to dispel all your “soft on oligarchs” votes.  Instead you were the ONLY Senator not to vote which looks really fucking weird.

Soviet Union Honeymoon - “It was for work!”  That makes it even more odd.  Who honeymoons on the job?  In the Soviet Union? Bernie must be a sex machine to persuade his wife to vacation in communist Russia after the wedding.

Bernie could be okay, I don’t know, but his actions with regard to the Kremlin show questionable judgment at a minimum IMO.

The defensive talking points don’t help that much.

A repeated attack on Beto is that he doesn't have major legislative achievements. Does Bernie have a history of large legislative successes? He's been great at raising issues and taking stands I agree with, but is he known for bringing disparate groups and views together to pass any of his major legislative issues?

So Bernie hired 15 people to his campaign yesterday. 10 of them were women. Also, the staff is unionized.

The campaign says that now, every single one of its teams — management, political, policy, organizing, communications, advance, digital, and fundraising — has women, and predominantly women of color, in leadership positions. Overall, the national leadership team is around 70% women.
