  1. Does anyone have a guy (North Austin) that does Christmas lights for them on the cheap? I have the lights and clips, I just need someone to hang them on my roofline. I'd need a 30 foot ladder that I don't have and don't want to buy. Most of the pros cost $500 and up and want to supply the lights. I had a kid do them last year who was trying to earn extra money, but I haven't been able to get ahold of him. Thanks, Bluto
  2. Well the doc did cut my sack and contort my balls (not in a fun way). So yeah, I think it's pretty equivalent.
  3. We had number 2 back in June. Both pregnancies were tough with mandated bed rest due to preeclampsia and after my wife had to go back into the hospital for an overnight a week after the birth I called for the consultation on the way home from the hospital. I wasn't taking a risk on her with a surprise third. Yeah it hurts, but no worse than watching our defense.
  4. We're in basically the same boat though I'm hoping we're on the tail end of it. Boy number two is now four months and boy one is two years, my wife was on bed rest prior to number two and was on restrictions following a c section. Boy number one was absolutely attached at my hip, everything has been MY DAD! He loves his brother, but is extremely clingy when it comes to me making time or doing even little things with number two. One of the things thought that I've found really helps is helping him take ownership of his brother. "Can you help me give him a bottle?" Can you hold the wipes while I change him, things like that. We also make it a point for number two to give kisses, really a light head butt, when we're giving final good nights to number one. I just keep reminding him that I am your daddy, but I'm number two's daddy too. It seems to be helping.
  5. Just tuned in and Kevin and Chad are both on. It looks like he might have gotten the can from a side gig.
  6. The question to the president of Finland should have been, "Do you know what Trump wanted Biden investigated for?"
  7. Taking a quick and nauseating look at that twitter feed, she's running for city council again. May God have mercy on our souls.
  8. New Oldsmobiles are in early this year.
  9. ^Holy shit that has got to be a tiny little person!
  10. Lots of old dads of young uns around here. We squeezed out the second boy a month and a half shy of my 43rd birthday, the wife is 35. The sleep deprivation and soreness that comes from having two under two while in your forties is tough, I can't imagine it any other way. While I'm sure I would have been a good dad in my 20's I feel that I'm just overall better built for it today. Plus it's extra fun for the family on my side as the grand kids go 27, 24, 22, 23 months and two months. It's been a blast so far.
  11. It's worth it, make it an accomplishment and something to be excited about and she'll buy right in. We've definitely had a lot of him being clingy, but that's been that worst of it.
  12. I'm in the same boat, just a little a head of you. My boys are 21 months a part with the first one turning two next month and the baby hitting two months tomorrow. Sleep is for the week. The ramp up for us seemed extremely rushed due to the wife (no pics) being put on bed rest and the little guy showing up at 37 weeks, but as exhausting as it's been it's awesome. What seems to have helped us out the most is helping the toddler take ownership of it. When we needed to move him out of the nursery to make room for the new guy, he "helped" me paint and ready his big boy room. We got him so excited about the big boy room and big boy bed that he hasn't attempted to escape once since leaving the crib three months ago. He's also in charge of bringing the bottles over to his brother when its feeding time and a lot of other things like that. Ownership on his part has been huge. As to the newborn, drinking helps. So does alternating with the wife and accepting help when family or friends offer, but mostly the drinking. It's exhausting, but it's also the best damn thing in the world.
