  1. Also, fuck @6th Street and his bitch ass handwringing.
  2. 27-23 TX 367 yards from scrimmage for Bama.
  3. I still play frequently with the wife and a group I've played with since D1.
  4. I went ahead and signed up for a Sprint Tri this weekend in Tyler as a precursor to next year's CapTex Olympic. I'm well into marathon training for the Houston and Mt. Charleston marathons next year. Should be a fun weekend visiting my parents too.
  5. When did bevo go into the stands?
  6. Surprised greenspoint didn’t call “ballgame” on the failed 4th conversion.
  7. Yep. If the game was at 6, I’d be there. It’s too hot, especially with a kiddo in tow.
  8. I needed to update everyone on my family dynamic now to set the stage for the 2023 Holiday Thread. My SIL and BIL have since gotten divorced (about a week or so ago now) so I won't have the extra angle of my in-laws absolutely shitting on my former BIL any longer. I haz disappoint. We're going to be doing thanksgiving at our place this year which will be nice. Christmas will be as it typically is. Just because we're holding thanksgiving at my house doesn't mean there won't be several shitshows going on. I'm sure my MIL will piss my wife off, my mom will say something to offend someone. Just wanted to set the stage that thanksgiving won't be the typical entertainment feast like it has been in the past. Gloves come off at Christmas this year though. My SIL who just got divorced has moved to Alaska for the next 6 weeks to be with extended family. She's been on drugs and alcohol heavily throughout the divorce by way of ex BIL in an attempt to keep her around. Fuck him.
  9. This right here. I'd argue about the 90% of the population thing but it's not even relevant to the question. Expect some weight gain as creatine causes muscle to hold water. I'd say anywhere between 5-7 pounds if you load it (heavy doses right at the start) or slow gradual weight gain as you slowly introduce it (5 grams per day). I saw some benefits in my performance but not enough to stay on it long-term. Also, you do get some creatine from red meat but not enough for it to have any benefit alone without straight creatine consumption. Personally, I don't really think it's necessary at all, but the nutrition industry loves selling shit.
  10. I think what I'm most shocked about regarding Sark (aside from his complete roster turnover and the building that he's been able to do on the OL and DL) is the strength and conditioning program. It seems like Becton is doing a great job of molding these guys and preventing major and nagging injuries. Big fucking knock on wood.
  11. I lost a ton of weight and my resting heart rate went from upper 60s, low 70s to mid 40s in about 3 years. I also run a lot (marathon's, halfs, etc.) Exercise and weight have a lot to do with resting heart rate.
  12. My wife cuts my hair. I also give her a tip...but not in cash.
  13. But that requires actual work. Can't have any of that going on.
  14. You can probably self-diagnose if you know how to log into your modem. If there's quite a bit of static noise (google is your friend), then you may need to call a technician out. If there's not, it's probably the modem and you can replace it yourself.
  15. Depends on which Costco you go to. I've seen them at the one on Richmond in Houston. Haven't seen them at the one in Clear Lake.
  16. I’ve stopped going to the gym as much and am neck deep in triathlon training. Running/biking/swimming 5 days per week and spending one day in the gym for strength training (bench, squat, deadlift). It’s amazing how much better I feel than I did a year ago. I’m running the Houston marathon next January, a downhill marathon in April, and doing my first triathlon in May. I just got bored of the gym and needed something different. Think I found an outlet. Ironman 70.3 is being planned for fall 2024.
