  1. Ryan Reynolds has hooked up with the hottest chicks, over-acted badly in many of his early roles, made hundreds of millions of dollars on business dealings on top of his movie earnings, and even owns an English soccer team. There are so many reasons for me to be jealous of him and hate him. But I don't. I can't. Instead, he is my man-crush. LFG
  2. I think the Elk is going to end up being sort of a David McWilliams kind of coach for them. Except without the Shock The Nation year.
  3. Yup disagree with that bit and... Ant Man 1 was widely enjoyed by many, and was a refreshingly different style of movie compared to most of the rest of the MCU. They weren't really able to recapture that in 2 or 2 IMO, but the first one was extremely entertaining.
  4. I don't know. I think the speech is a little clunky and a little too obvious. I like that the movie in its final form leaves some of this open to the observer, for interpretation and reflection. Mentioning that he has no home and Marie died 8 years ago is more then enough to allow me to then understand Del's actions throughout the movie. I hate it when screenwriters underestimate the viewer and hit us over the head with dialog. I think the movie worked perfectly without the speech.
  5. So I've recently purchased a new lawnmower and now I know exactly who Sauber ripped off for their livery:
  6. Taco Deli was really good originally. They've changed the menu considerably and tossed a lot of my favorites, probably right around COVID when so many other things changed as well. The puerco borracho was fantastic, would love to see it back on the menu but alas.
  7. The fantastic mullets in the original are really what set it apart. Without those mullets, the remake was never going to be the same. But they still did a pretty good job of capturing the cheese and making an entertaining action movie.
  8. This is such a common and strange reaction from aggies I meet living and working in Austin. It's not like it should be any surprise encountering Texas grads in the same city where the university is located-- if you choose to live here you really ought to know what you're getting into. If encountering Texas grads is going to be a remarkable and unpleasant experience for you, then Austin is probably not the city for you.
  9. No way man, do you even read this board? Surlys MUST run their air conditioners at 68 throughout the summer.
  10. Actual photo of Israeli army massing right now:
  11. Austin FF will chew this up and spit it out in no time. Except for Bee Cave, where it will flood.
  12. You never know. If you can show that the comps being used for the market valuation aren't directly comparable to your house (more recently renovated, etc.) and can show that more similar houses are selling for less, then you could make a case. My FIL protests every year, and eventually when he retired he served on the Travis County board that handles disputes. As long as people came in and told a reasonable story, he said they'd often cut at least some if it.
  13. I have three friends that all built pools during COVID and every single one of them is dealing with this issue. It's not normal, it's a massive mistake by whomever was responsible for that part of the build.
  14. Russia? What the heck do the Czechs have to do to get some love around here?
  15. He's saying it's in question whether or not that was in fact an "embassy." Israel definitely did it.
  16. Really the only decent BBQ joints near central Austin that have true dinner dining room hours are Terry Black's on Barton Springs and Stiles Switch on North Lamar.
  17. Man $3.75 seems like an absolute steal for THIS season, enjoy! None of my friends that normally do boils are having them this year, for obvious reasons I suppose. So II've hit up restaurants several times this season, paying outrageous sums, but don't care, had crawfish.
  18. The two go hand in hand...
  19. Sounds like it's time for you to start the "2026 Spanish Total Solar Eclipse Never Too Early To Get Ready" thread!
  20. Yes it's on Burnet Road a block north of Anderson Lane. On a site that used to be a Ross Dress For Less, and a Chuck E Cheese Pizza. Which was a Showbiz Pizza before that, and the whole building was a Kroger even before that.
  21. PM ROFL. No hail and not much rain in NW Travis. Totals all day are at 0.08"
