  1. I can't think of anything MORE Trump-like than for him to leave the top secret documents within easy reach. I have no doubt he has piles of papers and docs strategically strewn about so that when he casually brings guests through they think "wow, Trump is totally super busy working on VERY IMPORTANT things. Just look at those mounds of paper! And that folder clearly says Top Secret!!!" Without the money shot document instantly reachable and in plain view, the image changes from Trump being super-duper busy working on top secret stuff to Trump just being a slob. Which he is.
  2. "Bravado" in 2023 = "grab 'em by the pussy" in 2016. Dotard can say whatever, whenever & the GQP just collectively says "he's such a scamp" while they cast their vote.
  3. You mean after all these years you're still not familiar with Trump's dog whistles to his minions to...ahem, take care of that little thing like a wannabe mafioso?
  4. What's the make/model of your PC? You might be better off spending a little more ($150 or so) for a manufacturer's docking station with multiple HDMI/DisplayPort outputs.
  5. Anything to read from the fact she's not wearing her wedding ring in any of her recent pics in DC? Did she kick her KLBJ producer hubby to the curb in order to sniff Ted Cruz's stank finger? I guess she's not gonna run on the "family values" ticket during the next cycle.
  6. 3 San Antonio cops charged with murder Did those 3 brave warriors fear for their lives when this lady wielded a hammer inside of her apartment? Were they in imminent danger of being somehow struck by said hammer with the walls, doors and windows between them? Might as well fill her full of lead.
  7. So what brave journalist is going to hold Greg's feet to the fire and ask him about this deleted tweet during his next press conference?
  8. Guaranteed it's one of the following: LetsGoBrandon TrumpIsLord2024_24/7 BoebertIsAB!tch
  9. I've got as much sympathy for the family impacted by this as I do for the billionaires who were killed in the Titan submersible implosion: zero. If your "safety features" for your firearms can easily be undone by a toddler still shitting in diapers then you didn't really have any safety features. Your own stupidity caused your death, and one can only hope that the 2 year old is too young to have any memory of the trauma your carelessness brought about.
  10. I'm mildly surprised Meatball didn't have one of his aides dress up in hobo clothes and take a shit on the sidewalk so Ron could take the photo op of him looking on in disgust as the link hit the pavement.
  11. Really? Admitting you're a dinosaur, got thrown out with the trash years ahead of your planned exit, and are now scrambling to find a job amidst a talent pool of younger/smarter/cheaper candidates? Not a Surly 1%. I drive a fucking Outback. I know many on this board have had diverse careers across multiple disciplines. Just trying to learn from those who have more experience.
  12. On NBC News they just reported that Titan had made 13 expeditions to the Titanic.
  13. To be clear, I was 2 years from early retirement. That would have been less than ideal & I would likely have taken a hobby job to bridge the gap. The plan was to continue working another 6-7 years at my former company while my pension and 401k continued to grow. I'm 100% vested in the pension and will take the lump sum and reinvest it. Being cut loose this close to the finish line will have a significant impact so we are adjusting accordingly. I'm leaning towards accepting the first offer and then should company A come through quit and jump to them. I'm just hoping I don't get in a situation where company A takes longer than expected and I have to find a way to sneak off for an interview. This is unchartered territory for a lifer like me who was damn near institutionalized at my old company.
  14. I can think of only one lawyer who definitely would speak that way.
  15. That's a perfect example of less is more. Powerful photograph with banal description by a HS yearbook level writer. "One of the most beautiful rock photographs ever"? "A real foray into Kurt Cobain's evil"? Holy insipid shit, Batman.
  16. Man, that 16 year old kid had to be hating the last hours of his life. Born into great wealth, likely about to go to the college of his choice where he would pull tail that a dork of his nature would never sniff if not for the 8 or 9 zeroes in the family account. And you know he was thinking what an awesome icebreaker he had with the girls. "Hey, have I shown you the pics on my phone from the Titanic wreckage?" I hope before he died he killed Rush by stuffing the game controller down his throat.
  17. Back in the hunt after corporate restructuring got me after 35 years and 18 mos shy of early retirement. Turns out my skills are in higher demand than anticipated, and after several weeks of nothing I'm suddenly fielding interview requests on an almost daily basis. Here's where I'm at. Company A - first choice. Established, 50 year old company. Market leader, great line of products & services. Everyone on this board has heard of them. I'd be part of the team scaling up a recent acquisition. Great growth potential, good salary/benefits, 100% remote with some travel. Offer confidence > 70% Company B/C - Twenty year old company. Household name and again, everyone on this board has heard or owns their product. Wouldn't be a direct employee for company B, instead I'd be an employee (not a contractor) for Company C that has been providing this specific service to Company B for 8+ years (renewed annually). Less growth potential and base salary, on-site daily position (15 minute commute). Offer confidence > 90% Company D - Family owned, 70 year old company. HQ in midwest, has been into heavy expansion mode into adjacent markets & territories since mid - 2000s. New to Austin area. Salary and growth potential close to Company A, but greater risked associated with company trying to penetrate new market. Remote/hybrid job (20 minute commute to office), 25% travel minimum (car allowance is a perk). Offer confidence 70 - 90% I'm on to the 3rd round w/ A and B/C, and have gone from stage 1-2 with D this week with stage 3 interview requested this morning for this afternoon w/ GM, SM and VP. The challenge is that, although I absolutely crushed the interviews with Company A they are in the early stages and don't anticipate sending offers out for 2-4 weeks. Company B/C indicated that they will be in touch by this Friday, and I expect Company D to have a similar timeline. What's the move? I'm technically still employed by my current employer through June 30th so I have that buffer where I can ask to review offers, negotiate, and decide between B/C and D. But with A being the best fit/opportunity, what are my options? I can't expect the other two to wait up 2-3 weeks for me to decide. Do I accept the better offer of the two knowing that I would jump to A if they offer? Accepting a job for 2-3 weeks before bolting would certainly burn those bridges.
  18. The secret sauce to Trump's perpetual lying is that Trumpkins believe he's intentionally lying to the people he (and they) hate in order to cause them pain. Liberals. Minorities. Gays. Anyone who doesn't worship at the altar of Trump. They hear his lies and cream themselves while screaming "TAKE THAT, COMMIES!" Then they get together in their chat rooms or at an Applebee's and discuss the secret code Trump was transmitting during his last rally when he did the simulated jerk off 3 times with his right hand then 2 with his left before going back to his right for a crescendo during his ritualistic YMCA performance. Confront them directly with evidence of his lies--the easiest task on earth--and they react like a 4 year old. "Nuh-uh. Didn't happen." I'm actually thankful for Trump exposing the useless people I used to socialize with on a casual basis. Cutting those people from my life and not having a second thought about it was one of the easiest, most liberating experiences ever.
  19. The only thing close to that interview with Baier is when Jonathan Swan interviewed him for AXIOS during the pandemic. Swan's reaction when Trump defends his administration's response to Covid-19 by saying the US is "doing better than the world" is an all timer.
  20. This. Spend hours descending into the crushing depths of the ocean just to try to get a peek via a tiny porthole? Fuck that noise. Put the 3D scan video on an 86" monitor and enjoy from your sofa while drinking a beer.
  21. Zinger's the worst. He only says about 12 different variations of the same thing yet somehow can't spit it out in an intelligible fashion.
