  1. Being with his family and among Billy Disch & Bibb Falk sounds like a very fitting eternal resting place for Steve.
  2. I’ve posted this in the 2026 Baseball [emoji461]️ thread also. I received a text from one of his old Wild Bunch buddies this morning regarding services for Scott Wilson. While I haven’t seen it in print yet, I did contact the church to confirm. Viewing 4-7 pm Saturday Nov 8 Salinas Event Center Service 2pm Sunday St John’s United Methodist Church 2140 Allandale Rd Burial Austin Memorial Park ‘TIL Gabriel Blows his Horn RIP SW [emoji1598]

While I haven’t seen anything in print yet, I did just get off the phone with the church to confirm the service. 4. My parents lived in Okinawa from 87-91 while my dad worked for the DODs school system. He would send me tapes of the games he attended there and in Mainland Japan. He loved going to them. He’s also responsible for the books that I recommended from my previous post.
  5. I'm sure there are others, but two good reads about Japanese baseball and their love of the game that I have found and read are "You've Gotta Have Wa" by Robert Whiting and Warren Cromartie's "Slugging it Out in Japan". Cromartie was the first and most prominent player to play in Japan while still in his prime at 30 yrs old. The legendary Sadahuru Oh was his manager while playing for the Yomiuri (Tokyo) Giants. If you have Instagram or access to it, a good follow is the midnightlibraryofbaseball. Watch the attachment below for a 3 minute peak of Season 3 Episode 5 (59 minutes) from the website/podcast of the same name,... midnightlibraryofbaseball.com
  6. And pretty sure this was same asshole (official) who missed the PI/holding on what should have a been a TD in the endzone. SEC needs to fire this crew like they did the crew from the Auburn-GA game. Total BS the way calls went against us in the 2nd half and especially the 4th qtr.
  7. Yes. I saw that once looking him up on the web. Definite + score there.
  8. So I finally got around to watching The Morning Show. While I know he's done other things, it was bugging me as where else I had seen Billy Crudup (Network Exec Cory Ellison in TMS). At first I thought he had played the title role in one of the Steve Prefontaine movies, but driving home late last night, Elton's Tiny Dancer came on the radio and of course I thought of the bus scene from Almost Famous. Billy is Russell Hammond, the lead singer of Stillwater.
  9. NSIAP... Derailing the thread to get back to why this originally came up. Cliff notes...Source? I don't need or have a source, + he didn't deny it, so there you go.
  10. Holy shit dude. That IS NOT baseball.
  11. Game ended at just after 1 AM. 7hrs and 3 minutes. This was long before the Disch sold alcohol so I watched the whole game with the LF crowd/ tailgate. We kept calling cabs to go and get us more beer [emoji481] [emoji1598]
  12. Leave for a couple of hours and Ozzy has taken over the thread... Bravo Surlyites (Surlyans?)
  13. Was waiting for this one 👆
  14. Dude, you gonna make the list. We are ALL just trying to stay out of the lake.
  15. The follow up. Not the biggest fan of Portnoy, but this interaction reminds me of a couple of buds of mine. 🤣
  16. This... 👆 He's done this since his time in Washington. Drove my friends up there nuts. I remember thinking on the day he was hired here that maybe the leopard had learned to or was at least willing to change his spots, which unfortunately he hasn't. Now he drives us nuts. No doubt this Saturday he'll start out with 12 personnel.
  17. No. It was definitely @Nicole44 expanding her web 😆
  18. Definitely concussed. When the play happened, he didn't want to (or couldn't ) get up right away and even when the lineman tried to help him up, he stayed down. Not only did he fall hard onto the turf, but seeing a different angle tonight while watching the news, it really looked like the second MST player that hit him was an elbow/forearm to the base and back of his helmet and not his back. One of the assistants walking him off the field had a handful of the back of his jersey for stabilization and to keep him upright. I'd be surprised if he clears protocol to play. Probably shouldn't.
  19. He's either the Conductor of the train (nudge nudge) or the cameraman (Case?) in the corner.
  20. His buddy Dave rubbing it in...
  21. Was Nicole in Sarkville? Or was she livening up another boring weekend without the Horns here in town? Besides the link posted below,...news stated that another body was found this evening in Shoal Creek.
