  1. It's MTG.
  2. Exactly. I swear there is something about the field shrinking and the defense compressing that makes Sark's usually proudly swinging nuts retreat all the way up into his torso. I think it's mostly that he doesn't want to ruin a good drive with an interception and take points off the board. But, Sark, my guy, we don't get the points half the fucking time anyway. Let your nuts back out.
  3. The problem isn't going for it on 4th and short in FG range. The problem is the plays that are called. But, TexArcher! The graphic above shows that we converted on 7 of 14, 50%. That's pretty good, no? Well, that number is before Saturday. And does anybody want to run the win/loss records of the teams we converted against and the teams we didn't before Saturday? The shit we call usually doesn't work against better defenses, as we just saw, again. And it's not just the 4th and short -- it's the whole red zone. Multiple times, we marched down the field, then we asked Arch Manning to run like Tim Tebow, and by the way, what no one is talking about is that if Arch gets hurt, we go from 11-1 to 8-4 in a hurry. And we tried a QB sneak against a team with like 9 goal line stands the last couple of years. Brilliant. Let's bet the whole season (Arch's health) on a series of plays with like a 10% chance of working. Going for it is analytically correct. How we go for it is really stupid a lot of the time. Also, if your head coach sucks at 4th and short play calling, it doesn't mean you ignore the analytics and start settling for the field goals. It means you address the issue of your head coach sucking at 4th and short play calling by getting someone else to call the plays. I like Sark overall, but if he really wants us to win, he needs to put his ego aside and do the obvious.
  4. I mean, that's 100% a catch. Hurry up.
  5. What a catch, good lord.
  6. Did he throw out an N bomb during that play or something?
  7. Yeah, fuck Miami forever.
  8. I'm not the guy who blamed that miss on Wingo. That was a terrible throw.
  9. Yeah, that was encouraging. tOSU was only rushing 4 most of the time, but their guys were not winning the 1v1's at all. Arch had plenty of time. He just saw 7-man coverages and didn't make decisions quickly enough. But that can be worked on, and that secondary is excellent. I expect Arch to be in a much better place by the time we go to Gainesville. He can grow a lot with 3 games and a bye week.
  10. Jesus tapdancing Christ, it was ONE GAME. Sark has been fucking up red zone trips FOR YEARS. Obviously, the right answer is that they both have to do better. But I'm afraid that one of them isn't capable of it. And I'm a Sark fan. But this Achilles heel of his can fuck up absolutely everything. It is a way bigger deal than several misfires from a green starting QB in the toughest game of his young life. Fuck, this is ridiculous.
  11. You said that Sark called a good enough game to win with average QB play, and that is not correct, because the average QB is not a fucking battering ram inside the 10-yard line. We got enough from Arch to win this game (200+ total yards, 1 TD, 1 INT). We didn't get enough from Sark. Give it to Baxter and Wisner, who were having perfectly good days, inside the 10. Call a WR screen. Literally anything other than what Sark called. How many fucking goal line stands does Ohio State have the last couple of years? I'm not saying Arch was fine. He needs to be better, and he will be. But the play calling in the red zone has been a persistent issue for years now. That is, without question, the bigger concern.
  12. The QB had over 200 total yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT. What do you think average against maybe the best defense in the country on the road looks like? I'm frustrated with Arch missing so many throws, too, but if Coach doesn't inexplicably start calling Tim Tebow runs inside the 10-yard line, we win that game 21-14. The play calling should really never have a bad day, and this has happened a bunch of times with Sark. I'm way more worried about that than I am about Arch Manning.
  13. We ran for 165 on 4.5 ypc against one of the best defenses in the country. Yes, we do have two dominant running backs. One is a preseason AA, and the other is probably better.
  14. It was also deflating that the only penalty Ohio State was called for in 3 quarters was offset by one of ours, so it didn't even count.
  15. I tried to give a shit and it didn't work.
  16. Oh, I think there will be a lot more to enjoy over the next few weeks. Yeah, they're gimmes, but we're going to see the offense gel, including Baxter and Wisner pushing each other at RB. And I think the defense will get a shutout. And, most importantly, we'll get to see how Arch responds to the national jokes. You know he's seeing the memes and hearing the gleeful shit talking about how if his last name were Smith, he wouldn't even be here, etc. I bet Arch goes apeshit for at least 10 touchdowns in the next three games. He seems like the kind of kid to respond very well to being disrespected like this. No one will care, because it's against nobodies, but he'll get his head right (and his mechanics?) and be ready for the trips to Gainesville and Dallas. And we get a bye at a nice time right before those. I think four weeks from today we're all feeling an awful lot better. Also, this team getting a chip on its shoulder early may turn out to be a very good thing...
  17. So, Clemson's student section is gonna get dragged in the national media for a month for throwing shit on the field, right? Right?
  18. We're fine. Ohio State is better than every other team on our schedule. A lot of things went wrong today, and we still should have won on their field. Our defense is going to continue to wreck shop. And we've got 3 tune-ups and a bye week to get the offense going before the conference schedule starts. I think we'll split the games in Gainesville and Athens and win the rest to get to 10-2 and headed back to the SEC championship.
  19. Not a flag for ripping a dude's helmet off?
  20. No, he stepped out
  21. The thumbs up gesture captures the spirit, GTFOH.
  22. Yes, I love the irony of aggy getting all upset when we don't take them seriously enough, then refusing to admit that Tech is a legit rival for them even though that series is much more competitive.
  23. Aggy secondary holding on for dear life against UTSA, lulz
