  1. Just bought a Kia Telluride for the wife’s new mom tank. It does a very fine job of lane keeping other than the occasional attempt to follow the white line on an off ramp or slam on the brakes when it sees a car slowing on an off ramp ahead of it. I basically drove it hands off from Dallas to South Louisiana. You’re supposed to touch the wheel every 45 seconds to let it know you’re still awake, and it’ll fuss at you with a message, but will otherwise keep driving. It changed speed as the speed limit changed and the only thing I didn’t like was that it would slow down to maintain distance from the car ahead of it, and I wouldn’t notice because it had lulled me into a sense of security. Normally I’m beat after that drive, but it was a breeze.
  2. So you’re saying LB’s and S’s standing lead footed while staring into the backfield in fear of a VY keep read instead of taking their drops may have simplified things for our offense?
  3. About a decade of watching OL coaches fall in love with measurables and potential to the exclusion of production for significant parts of entire seasons has jaded me to the possibility that the current OL coach isn’t doing the same. There are more than a few UT sports content producers who pleasure themselves to thoughts of a pure meritocracy taking place in the football program while handling their units anew with each staff change, but, without fail, actual humans with coaching titles continue to fall into the patterns of behavior that are associated with being actual humans. Notably, wanting to try large specimens at OT positions who have demonstrated an inability to compete therefor the entirety of their time on the 40 acres. So Coach Flood has some nice skins on the wall, but any reports of lights suddenly coming on for Imade at tackle are met with more of an “Ok....sure” response than any semblance of optimism. I’ll put those thoughts up there in dubious bin with Angilau picking up a twist, Brewer being a serviceable TE or the goal posts aligning with the South end zone tunnel until I see some more proof during a game against actual competition.
  4. Those old school metal spikes must have made Kite look a lot taller.
  5. I think I’ve identified why Sam struggled on deep balls.
  6. My kingdom for our practice unit to actually be worn for a game.
  7. She’s Like the Wind and watch our opponents tremble in fear as we go crazy to Swayze. Actually, let’s quit pussyfooting around with all these half assed suggestions. Just fire up any Rocky fight preparation montage music and let’s be done with it. I choose to believe that Womack’s masterpiece kept the seething, angry motivation created by George Thorogood and the Destroyer’s Bad to the Bone internalized and simmering until it could be unleashed to counter the surge of our opponents.
  8. I’ll be good just as long as we warm up to Lee Anne Womack’s “I Hope You Dance”. That was always a great tone setter. Maybe throw in some Shania or Whitney for big games. And maybe Sark could quietly lay down in the middle of the locker room and listen to In the Air Tonight on repeat for his pregame prep.
  9. Not giving a F about something is definitely an approach.
  10. Nah, Fuzzy was making a racist attempt at humor. I’m recognizing that the Japanese eat some pretty wild shit. Possibly literally.
  11. As will be the menu at next year’s champions dinner.
  12. He’s one roster typo from being 240. Maybe throw a QB flak jacket on him to add the appearance of mass and mention skipping leg days if anyone notices some disproportionate appendages.
  13. You should take a gander at a few of the patents the Navy has filed lately. Perhaps complete BS, and perhaps it explains some of what is being seen. It does not explain how the navy acquired the tech.
  14. At least they’ve got iPad holders these days and may not be navigating with a hiking GPS.
  15. All cured by the two switches that turn off the bulbous bow actuators.
  16. Less drag and they are often designed to create a wake that cancels the ship’s wake.
  17. For the record it’s a Kia and a Honda at our house. So fuck Hyundai. And commie pinkos from the people’s republic of California too.
  18. What if they’re just applying anal swabs to test for some kind of interstellar Covid equivalent?
  19. If we’re out of the lane by so much as a boat length! You’re relieved. Right full rudder, reverse starboard engine! Sound collision. -or- Sand dune! Right ahead!
  20. I flew a Beech 99 (several actually) that probably had more hours than any two posters here combined, and can only vaguely recall turning the gen off for start after recharging the battery. There was a test we did each Friday where we checked to see that some very important. 150A circuit breaker hadn’t popped in the previous 7 days. And the fire detection was IR so sunlight hitting the nacelles just so would give you a fire warning.
  21. You might just need a fresh set of eyes or a new voice delivering the same message.
  22. We had a discussion the other day about how screwed we be for a while if we had to fly a plane that didn’t auto trim itself or leave the pitch and bank wherever you set it in perpetuity.
  23. Btw, the high wind condition limited DFW to arrivals and departures on 31L/R. Winds were almost directly out of the West at 30-40 knots. One ATIS had them at 38 gusting to 43. Anyway, here’s a nice pic of the lineup to depart 31L. Zoom in to see all the dinosaurs being sacrificed to cross wind limitations :
