  1. I stand corrected. Democrats relate to working class people and marginalized communities really well, which is why they communicate and campaign so effectively.
  2. Haha exactly. “I’ve got a plan for that!”
  3. So let me see if I understand: 1) you were impressed by the presentation or at least the delivery of the presentation and 2) you don’t think that VP Harris was capable of delivering a similar speech that well Do I have that right? Please clarify
  4. By the way, @Gatorubet- I’m happy for you that you don’t. It tells me that you hit escape velocity and earned your place in the world and don’t wake up every day with the frustration and shame and my god, the resentment. So you can’t relate to it. You should be glad for that.
  5. Counselor, that is hell of a lot of words to say “I don’t get it.”
  6. This has to be trolling. This person impresses you? Are you joking? I’m seriously confused.
  7. No offense intended, but I think you missed that the point is about class and privilege. And since you aren’t grounded in their class, you don’t relate either. Or at least I don’t think you do, because that is the only way I can explain starting with a rhetorical question about demographic avatars and finishing with a rhetorical question about “them.”
  8. Things must not be going well behind closed doors, because Abbott has been melting down on Twitter for the last couple of days.
  9. I like AOC and I know she was young, but joining the DSA was a colossally stupid thing to do. I don’t blame Democrats for shitting on them, because the DSA are often the most out of touch and counterproductive faction in a very out of touch and counterproductive party.
  10. See we’re all laughing, but this is what I meant a few years ago when I said Democrats were nationally evolving towards Texas. It’s like Texas public schools. Republicans will fuck up the VA, and everything else. And then they will blame Democrats. And Democrats will let them, because the Democrat candidate and activist class are so shielded by privilege that they simply can’t related to the lives of the people who get hurt and consequently can’t communicate with them effectively.
  11. Reality: Democrats don’t campaign within communities they say they care about
  12. If that’s the case the Bird/MJ/team wins going away.
  13. 1) Oscar Robertson would be my starting PG, not Steph 2) Magic goes for 42-10-10, but all-time Lakers lose.
  14. Amazingly Texas Democrats have never actually taken that angle. Because they are really dumb and bad.
  15. Man no way I would get on a cruise ship. Those things are floating gain of function projects.
  16. FYI Dallas real estate people: Apparently Las Vegas Sands COO and ballknower Patrick Dumont will be speaking at The Real Estate Council luncheon today at the Westin Galleria from 1130-1.
  17. I’m just as God made me sir
  18. Holy shit this thread. @Ojo Rojo no offense but do you think these people are on the level? You seem to think that there are principles and reason and philosophies and shit at work here.
  19. If only I could live in a world without consequences. I seem to recall you mocking the idea that “fire and blood” would be the result.
  20. This is a pretty good take, but regardless- I wonder how much value the Mavericks have lost as a franchise in the last two weeks, $100mm? More?
  21. I feel like we already covered this. No they aren’t. Broiler flocks are not the same population as laying hens, are younger, rotate faster through the system faster, spend less time in close contact and don’t live or eat in similar conditions. If anything this highlights how gross and unsanitary the environment is for most non-pastured, caged laying hens. talk to someone who has been inside a commodity egg facility. They have seen some shit. I mean you are one of the burn it down guys. This is the outcome you wanted. That doesn’t feel like a gotcha.
  22. The shortest version is that everyone hates Ryan Walters and thinks he’s a clown. Unlike Texas, Oklahoma‘s GOP at the party level is still somewhat controlled by chamber of commerce types and they have managed to keep the base somewhat at bay.
