  2. From the Atlantic. Game week appropriate. Texas Pinthouse Pizza We here at The Athletic, being of sound mind and capable of grasping the obvious, deemed Austin one of our nation’s best college towns for beer consumption a while back. So, yes, you could just about spin around with your eyes closed, take four steps and hit a great brewery. A place founded on the principles of beer and pizza going together, though, demands some of your attention. Pinthouse has crafted tons of award-winning IPAs, with its Electric Jellyfish hazy IPA by this point a ubiquitous star. You have to be careful, though, to get the full experience; the Pinthouse Brewing outpost on Ben White Boulevard actually doesn’t serve pizza. The other three Pinthouse locations do, and the one on Burnet Road is probably the best bet for anyone near Texas’ campus. And don’t worry; there are plenty of non-IPA options for those who turn their noses up at such beverages among the 24 in-house and guest taps at Pinthouse Burnet. Burro’s Breakfast lager, anyone? Notables: Zilker, Austin Beerworks, Jester King, Southern Heights, St. Elmo, Red Horn, Blue Owl
  3. Let’s give IT some credit for pinning the Burnt Ends threads. They get a raft of shit on the board that I’m sure their aware of.
  4. JQJ has not become one with the playbook from what I hear.
  5. Given this new information with respect to player jerseys, is it now okay for middle aged guys to wear said jerseys? I remember a heated discussion years ago that decided without a shadow of a doubt that it was asshattery of the highest order to do so. Asking so as to be in with the in (surly )crowd. Or just burnt Ends only.
  6. Message passed through the intermediary and received by the principal.
  7. This deal is legit. Just reached out to Cade Brewer through my goddaughter (no pics assholes) and he is aware of it though he has not been contacted directly. So stop whining about shit and contribute for the greater good. Looking forward to the Surly sponsored Volleyball calendar next year.
  8. Not as much as you think. He's had the same girlfriend since high school. Lake Travis girls rule.
  9. Latest update on the Ringer. The Colts Have Very Little Wiggle Room to Solve Their QB Conundrum - The Ringer
  10. Las Vegas (and Nevada in genera) is filled with Mormons. They work in education and state/local government. They are more concerned about what they do as opposed to what you do.
  11. I live in St. Louis now that I am retired so I can spend the next few years driving my grandchildren to various practices so the good things are Great road trips within 400 miles - Columbia. Oxford, Nashville and Fayetteville. This is close enough for trips to watch baseball and volleyball. Not having to keep the most expensive tier of DirecTV so I can get the LHN Pushing Mizzou's shit in every year so I don't have to listen to all their whining, they are almost as bad as eATMe What will I miss about the Big XII? Nothing!

Skip the Little Apple next year, they were assholes when they were winning and I doubt their descent into mediocrity has improved the visiting fan experience.
  13. First time listener, enjoyed it very much especially since you were not pimping any real estate or mortgage people. Can't wait to participate in the NIL sweepstakes with the board, you will have to create another level beyond "Certifiably Surly" though. Looking forward to the next episode.
  14. We played there in 2009. The stadium is at 7000 feet above sea level and we had seats in the last row of the upper dec Had a great time and would go back again.
  15. I think the best thing would be for all athletes would be to run all their NIL revenue streams through the AD. This would insure that they Fully monetize their brand Would not get ripped off by unscrupulous actors Stay right with the IRS, Schedule C is a beautiful thing. The NIL department could be staffed by volunteers from the Business and Law schools.
  16. Congratulations!! My best friend has been sober for over 20 years and I am extremely proud of him.
  17. Not sure about that but pre pandemic, my wife and I were on several cruises in the Caribbean and everywhere we went, any problem that existed were blamed on the Venezuelan refugees. Just the latest people off the boat in my opinion, no more or less skilled than anyone else.
  18. Things are crazy everywhere. We moved from Austin to the suburbs west of St. Louis four years ago and our house had appreciated 25%. Things will not get back to some semblance of normal until interest rates go back up.
  19. The wife and I got the Moderna shot, son and daughter-in-law J&J. worrying now about the 15 and 12 year old grandchildren, which one if any.
