  1. I paid $25/ft as well. Steel posts, cedar pickets and PT pine rails. Patriot Fence is who I used (ATX) Would recommended.
  2. Yeah mine too but only with this site. It’s like there is a tapa miner.
  3. I have this one and love it. Good pressure control and looks sleek.
  4. I tried the Toto washlet while on vacation. It’s pretty fancy but I’m not sure it’s worth the price tag and it sure looks retirement home bulky. The spray alignment feature was really the only thing I found useful. Everything else was just ok. I can get the same pressure control with a non powered bidet. I live in a warm climate so the heated seat and the heated water would only get used like one month out of the year. The air dryer is interesting but in reality it would take a long time to blow dry your butt.
  5. My doc said they changed the classification of the DRE which makes it optional. Something about little evidence to support the benefits and high number of false positives which results in numerous unneeded biopsies. He asked if I wanted one at my last annual. I told him that I would not particularly enjoy it but that he’s the one who is qualified to make the call and to do what is medically recommended. He personally hadn’t seen the benefit himself in his experience so he advised against it. So I didn’t get the poke.
  6. I have a flashlight with a fluorescent tube I put in the gear loft. It lights up the whole tent.
  7. Costs can vary dramatically across different contractors for the same thing. I never understood this myself with being able to get so much information on the internet. For one job I got quotes ranging from $2k to $7k. The second factor is what you want and your taste. If you don’t know what you want, pay a designer to help. It seems like a waste of money but they can really speed up decisions and they have contacts and connections.
  8. Oh and 4 side brick so no concerns about splashing on wooden siding.
  9. I’m in the exact same situation. I do recall there was small erosion before we had them. The soil has a lot of rock and i don’t have a basement. So actually my foundation would probably appreciate the additional water, no? Any other considerations besides doorways?
  10. Anyone happy NOT having gutters on their house? I need to replace the gutters on the house. It sure seems like gutters can be more of a pain than they are worth. I’m thinking of going gutterless again. Thoughts?
  11. I got a Goodman. Supposed to be identical to Amana for less $
  12. It should be less than $2k especially if easy access. I got a quote for $1.7k a couple of years ago and my tank is in the attic.
  13. My wife has great results with this cut-in paint tool. I’ve never used it myself, but if it helps her it must be good! https://www.homedepot.com/p/Shur-Line-4-75-in-x-3-75-in-Edger-Pro-2006561/202080280
  14. Make sure the tape is pressed firm and aligned well on the masked surface. This is the only real trick. Pull up the tape while the paint is wet. That should work well but you can still always wipe up bleed through since the paint is still wet. Do not pull up the tape once the paint has dried since that could rip up the paint.
  15. Looks like Sony just released and updated version - A8G. So from the time I started this thread, the set dropped from $2300 to $2000. LOL Just need a sale now...
  16. Wow, I can’t wait for all the wonderful embroidery advice you’ll get from the board.
  17. It’s big business. How do you think the Chinese get the footage for their reality TV?
  18. Use better locks? Ask the neighbors to keep a look out? Neighbor Watch? Hire a security guard?
  19. If you can pocket any savings from installing the fan yourself, then by all means DIY. Btw, $300 sounds like a great price for the surge protector. I’ve been told it’s closer to $500.
  20. Learn me about upscaling... would it just be from a 4K disc player with up scaling capability?
  21. It’s up to. It’s not a difficult task but it’s a pain in the neck imo. I personally hate working overhead. If you want to install it and save on the labor, I don’t think it’s a problem. What would he charge or what’s the labor rate for an electrician? $70? While you have the electrician you should look at installing a whole house surge protector.
  22. Soft bristle brush. Get you a nice 2” angled paint brush for dusting crevices. After dusting, apply your detailed or protectant.
  23. Nope it was on a new install. My only gripe was that the spring clamps for the wires are a pain in the ass to push down to get the wire in or out for the zones
  24. TV is 46” at 10’ viewing distance. Don’t think I could go bigger than 55” (home politics)
  25. Rachio /thread It’s my favorite IoT and it’s not even close. It’s stupid easy. It does everything your controller does today, makes that easy and does even more like use weather station data . You can even customize watering based on soil samples, types of heads, etc. Do you remember what zone 8 is? Nope, me neither. With Rachio you take a picture of what gets watered with zone 8 and assign it to the app. It’s so easy even my wife can use it. When my wife asks if I can change the watering schedule for her garden, I tell her nope ... look at the pictures and follow the menu.
