Got around to watching Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. Itās been long enough that if you were going to see it you probably would have. But the bad apes are trying to crack open this giant vault at sea level to gain human knowledge with a 30 ft tall sea wall keeping the water away from the work area. Good guy ape (chimp) and human girl find some air vents and go in for plot reasons. A few scenes later human girl opens the vault doors from the inside and then blows up the seawall flooding the vault. Good chimps enter the vault and climb many stories back to the vents to escape the rising water. My question is wouldnāt the water have just risen in the vault to sea level and then stopped instead of the 8-10 stories it showed the water rising? Sure thereād be a surge but water equalizes pretty fast.
If Gundy had Seppakued himself after last season weād have had a good chance at a great get. But with the outhouse fully engulfed this year weāre going to be hard pressed to find anyone with proven D1 talent to rush in and tackle the flames. Hell whatās Mangino up to these days? Dudes getting paid arenāt nearly as likely to care if he calls them pussies.
Correctly or not heāll cite health reasons. Heās not going to want to handle the deserved neg press for a season he canāt explain away , itās bad for his brand.
Iāve been a Pokes fan since I was a very small kid and my grandpa took me to a Bedlam game in the mid 60ās, (We won). That doesnāt make me a better fan than anyone else, just been around long enough to remember the decades of near irrelevance of OSU football. Weād win some games we werenāt supposed to and had a few breakout seasons but that was about it. The problem with our fan base now is that all anyone under about 40 knows is a successful program. Les Miles started the swagger then Gundy made it expected for 18 years. These fans are standing on the shoulders of what Gundy built and complaining about the view. My fear is that now that heās gone weāll just quietly slip back to the lower tier of the conference. It was time for MG to go, but it certainly could have been handled better, and now that the change has come weāre going to have to come to the realization that weāre a relatively small school located in the middle of nowhere. Now I love me some Stillwater, but finding a great coach thatās willing to come take on the current dumpster fire we have going on and is willing to take over an under funded program and be happy living an hour away from decent shopping or restaurants isnāt going to be as easy as our fans think. We can afford a known coach but how long will they stay? I see a team in perpetual turmoil for the foreseeable future, and a hard lesson for our younger fans.
So he allegedly assaulted a food delivery driver for refusing to move from a parking spot and the driver stabbed him during? Sounds like a FA/FO situation.
Weāre upside down when it comes to his buyout. We spent that Pickens money on gee gaws and doo dads and now itād be really painful money wise to buy him out. Iāve supported the guy, even after last season I said he deserved a chance to redeem himself. Now weāre 3 bad games in and even with 65 new players and a complete new coaching staff nothingās changed. Since heās the only constant thereās not many places to look other than at him. I say order the statue, rename the field after him and letās move forward immediately.
Was cruising around the El Campo vicinity tonight and was wondering if any of you could explain something about sod farming that Iāve always wondered about? When you buy grass sod it comes with about an inch to an inch and a half of soil attached to the bottom of the sod. When you drive past a sod farm after harvest you see where these strips have been cut out. My question is, how is this top soil replaced? By theory after 6 or 8 cuttings the field would be around a foot lower than the surrounding area, yet itās not. Iāve never seen giant earth moving equipment replenishing the dirt so new grass can be sewn, but the fields remain level. So where does the new top soil come from?
