  1. What I don’t understand is what the Manchin’s of the world think will happen and how this helps the country. Same goes for Biden. I understand trying to get bipartisan legislation on everything or even anything but if one side of the aisle refuses to participate then you end up with nothing. Nothing is exactly what McConnell wants so the Dems have nothing to show when the mid terms occur so its a win for Republicans to sit on their hands and refuse to pass any legislation. Then the R’s can scream “look at the Dems, they have done nothing for you. If you would just elect us to get a majority in the house and senate then we can really help you with jobs, healthcare, unicorns and rainbows for every American, etc….” Sadly if they do get control of Congress we will see non stop hearings on Hunter Biden, Hillary, Fauci and all those other important things that really help the American citizen.
  2. So he ate Skyline Chili and then offed himself? I can see that. In all seriousness I was a big fan (read his books/watched all his shows) and it sucks what he was battling with mentally. I may be wrong but didn't he kill himself over that Italian chick he was dating. Did she break up with him or something. I can't recall but I think that is what supposedly made him kill himself. Then again, don't count out having to eat Skyline Chili and act like its good.
  3. Didn’t know that story at all but what POS that dad was and how he could not end up in prison when everyone knew what he was is just horrific.
  4. I forgot to ask but when I watched this for some reason everything seemed like it was shot too close. Was this a glitch with HBO MAX or was the movie shot in a strange way. I may not be describing it right but it seemed like the aspect ratio was off or something like I was too close to the peoples faces. Anyone else notice this by chance?
  5. Came out terrible. Through it away. Bark didn’t set, the meat was too chewy to eat, and I added too much pepper. Fuck!
  6. My temp just said 212 so I pulled it and put it in the oven on warm still wrapped in foil. I guess I should wait an hour plus to cut it right? I opened the foil and the bark seemed a little soggy so I may have screwed something up.
  7. So when I say it stalled is that when it hit 154 and stayed that way for like 30 minutes to an hour? That is when you should wrap a brisket right? Last questions. I should now take it to what temp? 204? higher/lower? at that point I don't have a cooler or anything. Do I just leave it wrapped in the foil for an hour plus or do I stick it in the over on "warm" for an hour plus?
  8. I didn't have butcher paper so I wrapped in foil. Hope I didn't screw it up. It stalled at 154 so that is when I wrapped it. Guessing I will make a block of beef jerky by the time I am done but it's my first attempt so oh well.
  9. Where is the best place to figure out how much I could get if I sold this Patek? It was my dad’s watch so I hate to part with it but it sits in its box collecting dust. He would probably tell me to get something you would enjoy. I can’t really find this model anywhere online. I rarely wear it (I wear my Overseas 95% of the time except when I wear my Panerai to go to the pool/beach and am tempted to sell the Patek for something I would wear. 10. Yeah, it was pretty great in my opinion. He is definitely a different kind of guy compared to any other wrestler I have ever seen as far as the out of the ring stuff. He is just a smart, good guy looking to make people happy. I thought it was interesting when talking about being on the road and all the other wrestlers were partying and he is like reading a book in his hotel room or going to a museum or civil war battlefield. Unfortunately all the damage he did to his body is not going to end well for him and it is pretty hard to watch him moving around now.
  11. When wrapped does the bark stay a good consistency or does it get "mushy"? Also, any idea how long a 3.3 pound point cut will take? I just read to figure on an hour and 15 minutes per pound. Just trying to time the cook for dinner.
  12. Thanks for the response but not sure I totally follow. Let’s say I do it at 225F are you saying once it hits 165 you wrap it in something and leave it on the smoker? When I do beef ribs I don’t wrap them and just leave them on at 225F until they hit 204 degrees which takes around 7-8 hours usually. Once again, new to brisket so not sure how you do the whole wrap thing.
  13. Been reading through this thread but could use some help with the basics since I have never done a brisket before (only done beef ribs). I have a 3.3 pound point cut since I am only cooking for 3 people and was just going to do salt and pepper and smoke it. When I do beef ribs I rub them in Louisiana Hot sauce and then do the salt and pepper and smoke at 225 until they reach 204 degrees (learned that recipe from Aaron Franklin) but not sure if I should do the same with a brisket. I could use some basic tips like what temp (225?) and how long will a small cut like that take? What temp do I need to get it to before I pull it? Do I need to do the whole “resting” thing? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and I will add the liquid smoke and French dressing before serving so I got that covered.
  14. Just watched and thought it sucked. Was there production issues with this because like others said it felt disjointed and rushed. Almost like they changed directors and re wrote the script half way through. My wife made me watch it as she said the book was great but there was so much lazy writing where they are able to track the family from Florida to Montana because they saw a picture on the wall and figured that is where he would go. Stuff like that is just stupid and no I wasn’t expecting an Oscar winner but maybe they could try a little harder to make a coherent well written action/thriller flick.
  15. Many on here might not like their music but her voice may be the best ever.
  16. I just watched The Sheik. It’s a documentary about the wrestler, the Iron Sheik and its like 6-7 years old but I never saw it. The guy has led an interesting life from his days back in Iran to his good and bad stuff here in the US. I really enjoyed it as I didn’t know that much about the guy and how important he was to many wrestlers and what a social media phenomena he became with his Twitter account. He also apparently is the one that started using the word “Jabroni” which I never knew.
  17. Agreed. The last 10 minutes was brutal. I didn’t realize the speech he gave on Raw and then died later that night. He will always be Dingo Warrior to me! It was strange watching the Dark Side episode on Warrior the same week as the Biography as it was very similar so didn’t have the same impact but I do like Jim Cornette in anything so him so it had that. I am looking forward to the Mick Foley one on Sunday night. Considering I haven’t followed wrestling since the 1990’s all this nostalgic wrestling stuff has me considering paying $4.99 a month for Peacock since it includes the WWE channel which has like all the old shows from WCW/WWF and I think it has all the PPV stuff for the last 30 years or more. I could be wrong on the content so if anyone knows please post about that channel.
  18. Did I say he was a drug lord, dumb ass? I said there were rumors he was involved not in charge. That means lower level or even maybe he was just a cokehead with a bad habit that owed some people money you don't want to be in debt to. I know that it would be fucking shocking for someone living in South Florida in the early 1980's to possibly have involvement in the cocaine or marijuana business. At the time of the murder Walsh was a hotel executive with ties to the casinos in the Bahamas so I guarantee he was around some people in the drug business. Then again so was everyone in South Florida from 1975 to 1990.
  19. I will through out another example that isn’t someone I knew but I knew a lot of the people in the case. Many of you may know the Adam Walsh murder story. He was a kid abducted at the local Mall in Hollywood, FL and found murdered. It was a big national story and his dad, John Walsh started the TV show Americas Most Wanted. I lived in the same neighborhood as them and used to ride my bike to that mall almost daily so I was probably at the mall when he was taken (I think he was left alone at the Atari display in Sears or something like that). The police detectives that worked the case were good friends with my dad (used to play poker with my dad and go fishing with him). The dentist that did the dental medical records to prove the body was Adam was also a close friend of our family. Let’s just say I was told there were rumors that this wasn’t a random abduction and murder but that his dad was in the drug business and this was a retaliation for some drug related stuff.
  20. So, I just noticed this thread and not sure if this counts as knowing a murder but let’s say that when I was a kid my father was “connected” to some people. His business partner was a little guy who I called “Uncle” Oscar. I found out when i was older he was one of the most feared hit men for the Gambino and Lucchesi crime families in New York. I also learned that my “Uncle” Vic from NY was the Don of one of the Five Families in NY. I did not know all of this as 7-8 year old. I realized it when I was in college and watching Goodfellas and I realized I knew a lot people with nicknames when I was a kid that were friends or associates of my father just like this movie I was watching. As far as my “Uncle” Oscar, he was the nicest guy to me as he was close friends to my dad and I still remember him giving me a $100 bill and telling me to spend it all at Toys R Us and my parents needed to let me. This was in the late 1970’s so that was big money. I bought a crap ton of Star Wars action figures with that cash.
  21. Waco, Religious Sect, Compound? Meh, what could go wrong.
  22. Was this posted yet somewhere? I mean, I know they are nuts but are we getting to the point where it is actually scary how stupid these people are? 23 Percent of Republicans Agree ‘Satan-Worshipping Pedophiles’ Run Government: Poll (thedailybeast.com)
  23. Is it terrible that I read this whole thing in Lebowski’s voice picturing Lebowski saying it? Maybe Jeff Bridges is a lot like the dude.
