    USMNT 2023

I remember thinking that Laryea was Canada’s best player. I don’t remember the specifics. I have noticed that after Pulisic was looking more like a super sub in late 2021 and didn’t play like he should be a starter, he has looked great since the World Cup, when playing for the USMNT. He looked pretty good against Panama in the penultimate qualifier when we “all-but-qualified” with a 5-1 win. I think that Pulisic had a hat trick that game, but even Jesús scored in that game.
  2. “Cool story bro” incoming: Big backpacking trip around Europe in 1997. After landing and one night in London, I flew to Madrid, rented a car, and drove to Pamplona. Plan was to watch the bulls run in the morning and then maybe drive over the mountains to Pau, where the race was finishing that afternoon and then starting the next morning. This was pre-Lance (Jan Ullrich won that year.) and the public awareness of camping out for a day or two before the race arrived was not common knowledge. I didn’t realize that I would have been fucked trying to arrive into Pau at about 12pm-2pm with the finish happening later that afternoon. PLANS CHANGE: Basque separatists (ETA) had a political prisoner that they assassinated at midnight while I slept in my car and therefore the bulls didn’t run that day. 😕 I drove to Biarritz to look at tits on the beach for the afternoon and then returned to Pamplona to wait for the bulls the next day. So no visit to Pau. The “What could have been.” will always be there when I think of Pau. Post Mortem: I ended up in Paris for the last day of The Tour. I got to (the north side of) the Place de la Concorde about 3+ hours before the riders did (maybe 5 hours early?) and a guy who said that he rode in the 1950 Tour for Great Britain 🇬🇧 narrated what we were seeing from the various breakaways and taught me all of the ins-and-outs of stage races, so missing Pau worked out fine.

After starting in the bench, Lampard started putting him into the starting lineup. If Lampard’s teams had been playing well, he would t have been fired. No other manager played Pulisic as much… and they were all fired as well.

Which “coach” are you talking about? Christian signed with the first manager on the list in January of 2019, but never played for him. He then played (usually sparingly) under all of the rest of the managers on this list. It wasn’t like one manager didn’t think much of him. For the most part, all of these guys didn’t think much of him. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Chelsea_F.C._managers NOTE: Bruno Saltor was an interim manager for only 5 days.

They don’t even play the same position. Yueill (sp?) is a replacement for Aidan Morris taking a walkabout. But because A. Morris may come back, he is listed as “Left the team” rather than “Muscle Tightness” or some made up injury. Ferreira, Busio, Mihailovic… Roldan (😆) can all cover for Soñora, but Sands is pretty much the only #6 on the roster with A. Morris gone. That said, does Keaton Parks only play an #8? Or does he occasionally play a #6? The guys on The Scuffed Podcast like Keaton Parks as well. If Tanner Tessmann isn’t going to be called in due to marriage commitments (idiot for getting married at this age), then I’d like to see Parks.
  6. Love me some Marta Kostyuk. I’m right behind her every step of the way.
  7. At about 30:20 the 95 lb weakling of The Tennis Podcast reviews the part of Thiem v Tsitsipas that he watched and basically they are both shit. Sounds like Murray will beat the TvT winner. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-tennis-podcast/id530971441?i=1000619297079 So I was wrong. The shitty Tsitsipas isn’t going to make it to the 3rd round.

I think that he drops them to the Patreon group or the Discord. His videos are nearly 100% copyright infringements, so my guess is that the hammer came down.
  10. Calling Guadeloupe “faux Frenchies” would be like calling a Hawaiian team playing in a Polynesian Cup “Faux Americans”.

The observations and delivery are just fantastic.
  12. As Yogi Bera once said: ”It ain’t over ‘til it’s over.” Photos from Mammoth Mountain today: Mammoth Mountain is open at least through the end of July. https://www.instagram.com/p/CuR0_nFLHWS/?igshid=ZmZhNmZiZDJmOA==

I think that Schalke is the traditional local rival of Dortmund. This has a “Going home without slumming it” vibe. I wonder if Gio sticks around or if Dortmund jettisons him.
  14. Jeremy Chardy’s ball toss can’t have ever been worse than it is today. Some of the tosses look like he just learned the game last week. Last year he had a short run of pretty good results where he won one or two matches in each tournament he entered. Today is his last match (if he loses and it looks like it is a few years late. Crazy how bad he is today
  15. San Sebastián- Beautiful walkable city on the water. Bridge (puente) Building on an overcast day. American girl looking to fund her travels. Surfer who didn’t care about impressing storm. Surf Shop Random building with cool architecture “GERALD’S BAR” An English amiga’s restaurant. Fucking delicious! Great music courtesy of classic vinyl. Tres Leches Tapas in the old town area. That’s all for now.
  16. Bitch! You know it! Bienvenido al Pais Vascos! Oñati- quaint town on the edge of a forest. People gathering around the town center Friday night. The finish line of the last stage of a 4 stage women’s cycling race on Saturday. View out of an open ground floor door of our hotel. €1.75 / glass red wine (We learned that that wasn’t even the happy hour price.) Happy Hour Pintxos Finish Line and stage winner Lovely view of the valley from hotel’s terrace Basque profile on Tinder And another one Have at the IG accounts boys. Rocks at a beach a bit west(?) of San Sebastián. The sedimentary strata have been flipped at a 90° angle and the timeline runs from most recent (left) to the oldest (right). For the more mature Surly travelers. This was 4 years ago, so she would be 56 years old.

Ummmm, he’s in for a big surprise. You can be short and play in the middle of the park, but you need to be strong and it helps to be stocky. Pulisic is neither of those. This sounds like a disaster.
  18. 1) The groups played on their own nights (for the most part), so tonight was too soon for group C and especially group D. 2) Tuesday is a holiday, and if they promise fireworks shows, they can get butts in seats for island nations. 3) They are spreading out the games, because they need games between nobody countries to be on the weekends.
  19. He was just another Russian victim… …of the Cold War.
  20. Happy Wives ahorita! or …Pad the bank account so that wife will never have to think about ostentatious spending. All of the wives & kids want to go to Miami, but the pay from Saudi Arabia would be obscene.
  21. She also is the most open about the war being wrong… not saying she is risking her family’s lives by campaigning against the war, but she’s ooenly the most considerate of what the Ukrainians on the tour are going through. Side Note: I like Mackie McDonald, but I was happy to see Bublik win after losing the first set, because I think that he can do some damage. He won two weeks ago and without Kyrgios, we would be without an underhanded server if Bublik had been knocked out.
  22. Two African-American media faves lost to two Slavs today. Putin will be happy. 💂🏻‍♂️
  23. Gauff dumping yet another forehand into the net screams “I need a real tennis coach besides my dad!” Coco is like Flash on the court, but that forehand sucks ass. Especially on low balls. If not for that, she likely would have this match won. I’m pulling for Kenin today, so I don’t mind seeing it. PS- Chris Fowler has been even more pro Coco than Chris Evert today. Boy they were all over Coco today.
