  1. The interesting thing about this observation is that this is the exact opposite of what Sark should have taken away from his time with Saban. Saban was like "I don't give a shit who you are or what your ranking was, I got two more 4/5 stars over there who look just like you and if you can't do it, then they will get their chance to do it". You hear Alabama players from that period talk about practices being way harder than games, that they were always in high-competition mode because if they weren't, they were losing their jobs, etc.
  2. That's an interesting point. Obviously, not comparing the talent, but I think about somebody like Tom Brady, who was an absolute psycho when his teammates did something well, screaming in their face, head-butting them, slapping their helmets, jumping on their backs, etc. Fire is kind of important in a game whose design is to try and physically beat the shit out of each other
  3. I'm going to wait for Helobius to weigh in.
  4. Maybe he's got CTE. That was a pretty big butt he ran into.
  5. A team like Oregon would have had 20 points on aggy by halftime last night and it would have been over.
  6. That doesn't make it any less dumb of a chant.
  7. The dumbest chant in all of sports....yes, yes diminish your team's accomplishment by diminishing the opponent they just beat.
  8. The defense is struggling with the apparent significant downgrade in interior DL capability. It obviously plays out with how bad we get gashed at times by a decent running game, but the quickest way to fuck a QB is for the DL to get push up the middle (even if they don't get home), freeing somebody like Simmons to do what he does when the QB can't step forward and either has to start moving in his direction or is still at that spot deep in the pocket where DEs sort of naturally rush to.
  9. There are exceptions of course (coaching icons like Saban and Meyer and weird cases like Orgeron) but the majority of coaches these days break through and win their first national championship between years 5-10 at their respective school (Day, Smart, Harbaugh, Dabo, hell even Mack). Sark has a little more rope given what he has done so far but if the next few years start to trend away from where years 3 and 4 were, it won't look good for his long-term chances to add to that list and that's when a decision had to be made. Everything else we(I) am doing is just disgruntled speculation because what the hell else are we supposed to do.
  10. Beers…nah gonna have to be a lot more than that after what I saw today
  11. That’s what you might want them to do. I’m interested in what Incredulity wants them to do.
  12. So you don’t want to nuke the filibuster. Fine. Then what do you want the Republicans to do given their current proposed legislation doesn’t have the votes?
  13. Well, in Lanning's case, he is 40-6 as a head coach. Those 6 losses have come to Ohio State (the eventual national champion whom he beat earlier in the season), twice to Washington (National Runner-Up), Georgia (National Champion), Washington again, and Oregon State. There hasn't been a single loss to a non-Top 25 team, and over the last two years, all he has lost to are the teams playing for it all at the end. I mean unless you think we are hiring a guy who has already been to the mountain top at this juncture he's about as close as you get.
  14. Nobody, save maybe a few guys who are firmly entrenched, is ready for Texas. We've never actually hired a coach who was "ready" for it. The guys out there right now who are probably ready for it and desirable (sorry Dabo, etc) Ryan Day...LOL Dan Lanning....unlikely And.....who?
  15. He now drags his leg with a pimp walk.
  16. This guy seems annoying, hungry and does more with less
  17. It's not, because everything you just said was hyperbole about both guys.
  18. I think that's moved beyond "concern" and into execution phase.
  19. Sark has to answer fashion questions when Lorreal is clearly the fashion "expert". You don't think that's hard for him?
  20. Only 1 out of 12 stabbed and yet arrested for being a dick prior to said stabbing. Seems like a good run rate.
  21. Some of that, some of it also that the interior D linemen are often eating nobody so those LBs have more blockers getting to the second level type traffic to deal with.
  22. Said it early in the game thread but what Florida was doing with its passing game, especially in the 1H reminded me a lot of the 2023 game against a moribund Houston team. We were playing off and they were smartly running a lot of short routes across the field, letting Lagway get completions to guys on the move, eat yards, keep the chains moving etc. Florida ran the ball a lot better than UH did that day.
